Honda CBR650R set to relaunch in India with E-Clutch technology; Report

Honda is gearing up to relaunch the highly popular CBR650R sportbike in India, with the fully-faired, middleweight inline-four model expected to return in the coming weeks, as reported by Autocar India

The 2025 CBR650R will come with several updates, including Honda’s E-Clutch technology, which eliminates the need for manual clutch operation during gear shifts and stops. The system adds just 3kg to the bike’s weight, ensuring a smoother and more convenient riding experience.

The CBR650R continues to be powered by the proven 648cc, inline-four engine that delivers 95hp at 12,000rpm and 63Nm of torque at 9,500rpm. It is paired with a 6-speed gearbox, with the E-Clutch available in a separate variant. The standard CBR650R weighs 208kg, while the E-Clutch variant tips the scales at 211kg. With a seat height of 810mm, the bike offers a comfortable rider triangle, though its 130mm ground clearance may be a concern in some areas of India.

Aesthetically, the 2025 model features sharper styling and a 5-inch TFT display that connects to smartphones via Bluetooth, allowing for call, notification, and music alerts. The bike will be available in two color options: traditional Honda red and a sleek matte black.

There is also a strong possibility that the CB650R naked version will be launched alongside the CBR650R. Both models will feature the same design updates and E-Clutch technology.
