Hero MotoCorp to hike prices of select models by up to Rs 1,500 from July

Hero MotoCorp announced that some of its two-wheeler lineup would see price hikes. The manufacturer did say that the price hike would be up to Rs. 1500 and would vary depending on the model, but it did not specify which models would be impacted. The price increase will take effect on July 1 and, according to Hero, “has been necessitated to partially offset the impact of higher input costs”.

Regarding sales, Hero MotoCorp announced a 4.11 per cent drop in overall sales for the month of May 2024. In comparison to 5,19,474 units sold in the same month in 2023, the firm sold a cumulative total of 4,98,123 units (domestic + exports) last month. With 4,79,450 units sold domestically in May, the brand’s sales saw a 7% year-over-year drop from 5,08,309 units in May 2023. On the other hand, exports rose to 18,673 units in May, an impressive 67.25 per cent rise over 11,165 units shipped in May 2023.

Hero recently unveiled a brand-new limited edition Xoom 110 scooter. The new Hero Xoom Combat Edition costs Rs. 80,967 (ex-showroom, Delhi) and has new graphics inspired by jet fighters. Compared to the Xoom ZX, the new Xoom Combat costs roughly Rs. 1000 more.
