Hero MotoCorp expands global presence, launches operations in Philippines

The largest motorbike and scooter manufacturer in the world, Hero MotoCorp, has officially teamed up with Terrafirma Motors Corporation (TMC) to enter the Philippine market. This strategic move is another significant step in the company’s plan to expand globally.

Hero MotoCorp’s products and services would be exclusively assembled and distributed by TMC, a Philippine automotive firm. The agreement, which was announced in October 2022, has finally materialized with the start of operations.

TMC in Laguna, Philippines, has developed a cutting-edge assembly unit and parts warehouse spanning over 6,000 square meters and capable of producing more than 150,000 units per year. This plant will manufacture Hero MotoCorp’s popular bikes, such as the Hero Xpulse 200 4V, Hunk 160R 4V and the Xoom 110 scooter.

Hero MotoCorp has already begun retail operations, providing the Xpulse 200 4V at PHP 140,000, the Hunk 160R 4V at PHP 99,900 and the Xoom 110 at PHP 69,900. Each product carries a two-year or 24,000-kilometer warranty.

Hero MotoCorp CEO Niranjan Gupta shared his confidence about the development, saying, “Our operations in the Philippines will enhance our global footprint. Partnering with TMC, a distinguished member of the Columbian Group, we are set to quickly establish and grow our market presence.”
