Greaves Electric Mobility Limited (GEML), the e-mobility arm of Greaves Cotton Limited, witnessed remarkable growth in January 2025, reinforcing its position as a key player in India’s EV market. Under its flagship Ampere brand, GEML sold 3,611 electric two-wheelers, securing the 5th spot among India’s top-selling EV brands, as per the Vahan portal.

With an impressive 53% Y-o-Y and 27% M-o-M growth, Ampere’s success was fueled by its premium electric scooters, Nexus and Magnus Neo. Ampere’s overall retail growth, including slow-speed models, surged 38% M-o-M, surpassing the industry average.

The newly launched Magnus Neo, an upgraded version of the popular Ampere Magnus, features a cutting-edge LFP battery, ensuring a 100+ km certified range and a safe, portable charging solution. The Ampere Nexus, released earlier in 2024, boasts an impressive 93 kmph top speed and 136 km certified range. Both models entered the India Book of Records for their record-setting launch journeys.

GEML’s subsidiary, MLR Auto Limited, recorded a 52% M-o-M growth, selling 665 electric three-wheelers. Additionally, Ele, GEML’s e-rickshaw arm, witnessed a 21% Q-o-Q growth in Uttar Pradesh, further cementing its dominance in the segment.
