Eicher Motors Limited has reported a 5.7% year-on-year growth in sales for its unlisted subsidiary, VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), in September 2024. The total sales volume for the month stood at 7,609 units, up from 7,198 units in the same period last year.
Key highlights include:
- Eicher Trucks and Buses sales grew by 5.1%, reaching 7,322 units in September 2024, compared to 6,965 units in September 2023.
- Domestic sales saw a marginal growth of 2.0%, totaling 6,847 units for the month, up from 6,715 units in the same month last year.
- Exports surged by a notable 90.0%, with 475 units sold in September 2024 compared to 250 units in September 2023, driven by strong demand for Eicher LMD Trucks, which saw export growth of 106.3%.
On a year-to-date (YTD) basis for the fiscal year 2024-25, VECV’s total sales reached 40,476 units, marking a 3.5% increase compared to 39,122 units in the same period last year.
In the domestic market:
- LMD Trucks (3.5-18.5T) sales declined by 7.1% in September 2024, while HD Trucks (≥18.5T) grew by 10.1%.
- LMD Bus sales showed strong growth of 21.4%, while HD Bus sales increased by 16.3%.
Exports were particularly strong, with all segments showing growth:
- Eicher LMD exports more than doubled, increasing by 106.3%.
- HD Trucks exports grew by 15.4%, while Bus exports rose by 72.0%.
Additionally, Volvo Trucks & Buses recorded a 23.2% growth in sales, reaching 287 units in September 2024, compared to 233 units last year.
