Citroen is set to reveal the pricing for the all-new Basalt coupe-SUV on August 9. It will be the brand’s fourth vehicle in the C-cubed lineup, which is a coupe-style alternative to the C3 Aircross SUV. The Basalt has noteworthy feature updates that Citroen vehicles previously lacked. It will be available with two petrol engine choices.
Two 1.2-litre petrol engines power the Basalt. There is a 110 horsepower turbo-petrol engine and a 115 Nm, 82 horsepower naturally aspirated unit. While the NA unit only has a 5-speed manual transmission, the turbo-petrol engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox (190Nm) or a 6-speed torque converter automatic (205Nm).
A 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 15W wireless smartphone charger, connected car technology, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, a front armrest with storage and adjustable thigh support for the rear bench seat are among the features of the top-spec Basalt variants.
All versions have six airbags, ESP, hill-hold assist and a tyre pressure monitor as standard safety features. However, it lacks features that rivals provide, such as an ADAS suite, powered front seats, ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof.
