BYD Atto 3 teased ahead of launch on 10 July; Here’s what to expect

BYD India is preparing to launch a new vehicle on July 10th, with all signals pointing to a more affordable version of its famous Atto 3 electric SUV.

As per Times Now, Industry insiders claim that this new model will have a 50kWh battery pack instead of the 60.48kWh one seen in the current model. This opens the door for a more appealing price tag but also a potentially lower range. Experts estimate a price range between Rs 26 lakh and Rs 28 lakh, which would make the Atto 3 a better deal compared to the top-end trims of the MG ZS EV, which are now priced between Rs 18.98 lakh and Rs 25.20 lakh.

In order to reach this lower pricing point, BYD may remove a few features from the current Atto 3. In any case,  details about these possible omissions are still being hidden.

Along with the MG ZS EV, forthcoming electric SUVs such as the Tata Harrier EV, Mahindra XUV.e8, Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti eVX are anticipated to face competition from the new entry-level Atto 3.
