The launch date of the new R 1300 GS adventure tourer, set for June 13, 2024, has been announced by BMW Motorrad India. The brand-new BMW R 1300 GS replaces the place of the R 1250 GS in the lineup and offers several upgrades that improve the ADV’s performance. BMW’s adventure tourer has been known for being a flexible and rider-friendly bike and the most recent version will only make that better.

With a higher capacity boxer engine, the new BMW R 1300 GS is more leaner than its predecessor. The new 1,300 cc twin-cylinder engine, paired with a 6-speed gearbox, produces 145 bhp at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm at 6,500 rpm. Despite its larger displacement, the new motor is more compact, due to the placing of the transmission under the engine. The bike now weighs around 12 kg less than the previous version.

The R 1300 GS receives a new sheet metal frame connected by a die-cast aluminium subframe. The adventure tourer also has its patented suspension setup, which includes the EVO telelever unit up front and a new EVO paralever unit in the rear. The bike also has seat height adjustment at low speeds or while parked.

The BMW R 1300 GS has several ride modes, traction control, switchable ABS, radar-assisted cruise control and a 6.5-inch TFT digital instrument console. BMW will also offer a Pro Package as an option, adding extra technological assistance to the bike.
