BMW Motorrad unveils S 1000 R and M 1000 R with few updates

BMW Motorrad has unveiled the 2025 editions of its popular S1000R and M1000R naked roadsters, featuring significant upgrades in performance and technology.

Both models are powered by a refined 999cc DOHC inline-four-cylinder engine that now delivers an impressive 168 bhp, due to enhanced intake port geometry and improved fuel mapping. The max torque remains at 114 Nm, ensuring robust performance. A revamped 6-speed gearbox includes a shorter second gear and final drive ratio, enhancing responsiveness at road-legal speeds.

New safety features like Drag Torque Control (MSR) and Engine Brake Control help prevent rear-wheel slip during sudden throttle cuts or downshifting.

The 2025 models also showcase subtle design updates, including twin LED headlights inspired by the faired RR models, a sleeker number plate holder and an under-seat USB-C charging port. Additionally, both bikes come equipped with a standard emergency call system, enhancing rider safety.
