BMW India recently announced that the M4, the more powerful version of their performance sedan, is scheduled to be released in India on October 4. The BMW M4 CS (which stands for Competition Sport) will be priced higher than the Competition and will have a slew of mechanical upgrades that will make it faster.
BMW M4 CS features
Inside, the new generation BMW M4 CS maintains a simple dashboard design. Other noticeable features inside the forthcoming car’s cabin include a rectangular steering wheel, M-model unique carbon fibre racing bucket seats and M badging all around with special CS nomenclature included into the headrests.
The BMW M4 CS receives an enhanced version of the standard M4’s twin-turbo 3.0-litre straight-six engine, which was used in the limited-run CSL. The CS produces 20 horsepower more than the M4 Competition’s 530 hp, owing to an increase in turbo boost pressure from 1.7 to 2.1 bar.
The CS weighs 20kg less than the normal model, due to a titanium exhaust silencer and other carbon fibre-reinforced plastic (CFRP) components such as the centre console, transmission paddles and interior trims. The manufacturer claims that the CS’s chassis has been adjusted to increase steering precision and wheel control, with stronger springs and anti-roll bars that decrease roll through tight corners.
