Audi RS Q8 facelift revealed as company’s most powerful petrol car

The Audi RS Q8 features a new range-topping Performance model, which is the brand’s most powerful ICE (internal combustion engine) vehicle ever, with a snarling twin-turbocharged petrol V8 producing 640 horsepower. The 40hp boost over the 600hp RS Q8 means the new super-SUV barely outperforms the 630hp Audi RS6 Avant Performance estate vehicle and is only 10hp short of the closely similar pure-V8 Lamborghini Urus.

The result is a supercar-baiting 3.6-second 0-100kph time, which is 0.2 seconds faster than the standard vehicle and the 250kph speed barrier is removed, allowing the Performance to reach 306kph. The Tiptronic 8-speed automatic transmission sends power to all four wheels, much like it does on the standard Audi Q8.

A gear change indicator has been added to Audi’s updated 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster inside for better shifts while operating in manual mode. The main interior features are controlled by the same split infotainment (10.1-inch) and temperature control (8.6-inch) screens seen on the Q8.

On the cosmetic front, the RS Q8 gets a new single-frame grille with octagonal design features, as well as updated Matrix LED headlights. Customers can select HD Matrix LED headlights with Audi laser light as an option, which includes five different light signatures for the DRLs.
