Ashok Leyland Limited reported a 10% year-on-year decline in total vehicle sales for September 2024, with 17,233 units sold, compared to 19,202 units in September 2023. The decrease was driven by lower sales in the M&HCV Trucks segment, which dropped by 16%.
Key highlights include:
- M&HCV Trucks sales stood at 8,644 units, down from 10,266 units in the same month last year.
- M&HCV Bus sales fell marginally by 2%, totaling 2,433 units in September 2024, compared to 2,486 units in September 2023.
- LCV sales saw a decline of 5%, with 6,156 units sold in September 2024, down from 6,450 units last year.
On a cumulative basis, for FY 2024-25 so far, Ashok Leyland’s total vehicle sales reached 89,517 units, reflecting a 2% decline compared to 91,175 units in the corresponding period last year.
Despite the drop in overall vehicle sales, the M&HCV Bus category showed strength, growing by 26% year-to-date with 13,255 units sold, compared to 10,558 units last year.
