TMC leader Mamata Banerjee called all-party meeting amid Presidential polls

TMC party supremo Mamata Banerjee will conduct an all-party meet today, June 15 to potray a united front against the BJP-ruled government.

Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool Congress party leader had called an all-party meeting where she had invited 19 parties to come together on Wednesday, June 15, 2022, to put forward a joint and united fight against the ruling BJP government and to create a “confluence of opposition voices”. The Presidential Polls would take place from July 18 and the results are to be announced on July 21.

The meeting has also faced stiff criticism from several parties and many have decided to skip the meetings altogether. Telangana Rashtriya Samithi and Aam Admi Party are among the ones who have decided against attending the meeting.

Mamata Banerjee calls all-party meeting

Chandrashekhar Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana had denied the request to attend the meeting. Which was after being advised against it by his advisors. Lest, the TRS has stated that they would not attend the meetings. Since they will not be on the same platform as the Congress Party. Especially after Rahul Gandhi attacked the government and the Chief Minister directly in Warangal last month. In a message, the TRS stated. “There is no question of sharing any platform with Congress.” The AAP had stated that such a gathering would be considered if “the Presidential candidate is announced.”

According to the latest reports Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have also decided against attending the all-party meet organized by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. A BJD leader has commented on the topic claiming that they had not received any information. Moreover, about attending the meeting from their Party Chief Naveen Patnaik.

Arvind Kejriwal (AAP), Naveen Patnaik (BJD), K Chandrashekar Rao (TRS), M K Stalin (DMK), Uddhav Thackeray (Shiv Sena).
