Sonia Gandhi’s second ED questioning today, heavy security placed near Congress office

Congress Party has invited all state units to organise a peaceful ‘Satyagraha’ on July 26, when Congress interim President will appear before ED.

Sonia Gandhi is set appear before ED for 2nd round of questioning today. Congress President will depose at the federal probe agency around noon on for recording of her testimony by the ED investigating officer.

The questioning is subjected in the money laundering case linked to the National Herald newspaper.

However, Congress party has called for a protest, claiming the ED procedures to be a government’s act against the opposition. Hence, heavy security is placed near Congress office in Delhi.

In it’s official announcement, Congress Party has invited all state units to organise a peaceful ‘Satyagraha’ on July 26, when Congress interim President will appear before ED. “All MPs, AICC General Secy & CWC members have been asked to participate in Satyagraha to be organised in Delhi”: Congress.

Congress MP KC Venugopal said to media, “We decided to hold a peaceful protest in front of Rajghat tomorrow (as Sonia Gandhi will appear before ED). We had given an application to Delhi Police for permission but they denied it. It’s unfortunate & condemnable.Govt is suppressing opposition voice.”

Earlier on July 21, the 75-five-year old Sonia Gandhi was questioned for more than two hours during her first day of questioning by the agency. Her childrens and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi & Priyanka Vadra had accompanied her to the ED office. ED is investigating alleged financial irregularities in the Congress-promoted Young Indian Private Limited, which owns the National Herald newspaper.
