On Thursday, Former Union Minister and Shiromani Akali Dal leader Harsimrat Kaur Badal visited Takht Sri Damdama Sahib in Talwandi Sabo of Bathinda. As per the reports of ANI, the Akali Dal leader will be leading Kisan March of the party from Talwani Sabo in Punjab, protesting against Farm Laws. The march will wind up at Raj Bhawan.
In an official statement given to the media, Harsimrat Kaur Badal stated, “Shiromani Akali Dal is beginning a long struggle today to make the government roll back the black laws. The party left behind everything – alliance, post, government, relations – to become the voice of farmers, who have lost everything due to these Laws.”

For the uninitiated, Minister of food processing industries Harsimrat Kaur Badal had resigned from the Union Cabinet on 17th September, after the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) opposed legislation seeking to liberalise agricultural markets, exposing a rift between the party and its long-time ally, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on reforms in the farm sector.
