Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann to meet PM Narendra Modi on March 24

This will be Mann’s first meeting with the Prime Minister since being sworn in as Punjab’s chief minister.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi at around 11 am on Thursday, as per PTI. This will be Mann’s first meeting with the Prime Minister since being sworn in as Punjab’s chief minister.

He had previously stated on Twitter, “After taking over as Chief Minister of Punjab, I have requested time from the Prime Minister and Home Minister for a courtesy call and to discuss issues pertaining to Punjab.”

On March 16, Mann took the oath of office as chief minister at Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral village of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh in Punjab’s Shaheed Bhagat Singh (SBS) Nagar district.

Modi had applauded him on becoming Punjab Chief Minister. While he resigned as a Lok Sabha MP on March 14, he was sworn in as the 17th Chief Minister of Punjab two days later in the presence of AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, and other leaders.

“Congratulations to Bhagwant Mann on taking the oath of office as Punjab Chief Minister. Will collaborate for the expansion of Punjab and the well-being of the people of the state, “PM Modi tweeted about it.

Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered the oath to Mann. The swearing-in ceremony was held in Khatkar Kalan, the ancestral village of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.
