PM’s jab at Congress: “Black magic cannot end your miserable days”

On Wednesday, August 10, Prime Minister Modi slammed the Opposition for demonstrating in black garb in Parliament over the price of rice and for allegedly turning to black magic in an effort to capture the public’s faith.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi poked fun at the Congress for staging a black-clad demonstration on August 5 over a “price rise” and claimed that certain people “are resorting to black magic as they are immersed in despair and pessimism.”

“We saw on August 5 that there was an attempt to propagate black magic. These people think that by wearing black clothes, their period of despair will end. But they do not know that however much black magic they do, resort to superstition, people’s trust in them will never be restored,” the Prime Minister said in his speech through video conferencing at the inauguration of the 2G Ethanol Plant in Panipat.

On August 5, 2020, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the groundwork for the magnificent Ram temple in Ayodhya.

The Prime Minister said there are some people in the country who are trapped “in the vortex of negativity, immersed in despair” and even “after lying against the government, the public is not ready to trust such people.”

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, had criticised the Congress for its demonstrations against price hikes on August 5. He claimed that the party had chosen the day for the demonstrations and that its leaders had dressed in black because they “wanted to give a subtle message to further promote their appeasement politics” on the day that PM Modi laid the “foundation of Ram Janambhoomi.”

According to PM Modi, those who frequently take short cuts out of political self-interest to avoid challenges may never find a lasting solution.
