Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has resigned from his post as the Union Minister of Minority Affairs. Reports suggest that Naqvi’s Rajya Sabha term was supposed to end on Thursday. But Mr Naqvi resigned his post hours after his last cabinet meeting with PM Modi. Reports suggest that Mr Naqvi was praised by the PM for his contribution to the country.
After the Cabinet meeting, Abbas Naqvi met with BJP President J.P.Nadda. It is being said that Naqvi can be pushed by the BJP for the post of Vice-President. Or for being Governor/Lieutenant Governor of a state/union territory.
