Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Friday transferred crop insurance amount to the bank account of farmers in Ujjain.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Friday transferred crop insurance amount to the bank account of farmers in Ujjain. Earlier the Chief Minister took to twitter informing that he would transfer Rs 4688 crore to the accounts of his farmers in the region. “Today I stand amongst the brothers and sisters of Ujjain. My happiness lies in the prosperity of my people,” tweeted Chouhan in Hindi.

While addressing the E-transfer function, the Chief Minister said that he has not compromised with the works done for the welfare of the farmers and underprivileged even during the challenge of fighting against COVID-19. He said the state has produced the largest quantity of wheat during the crisis time, hence making the state proud.

He also added that the government has transferred almost Rs 7,000 crores in the Coronavirus crisis time under various schemes to protect the farmers.

Plans to set up food processing facilities in the respective regions are also under process so that the farmers will get the right amount for their crops and get profit as well by selling the products outside.

He also handed over a certificate for the amount in the Kharif-2019 under Fasal Bima Yojana.
