The court will announce the quantum of sentencing against Lalu Prasad Yadav on February 21.

Special CBI court on Tuesday convicted former Chief Minister and RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav in the Fodder Scam case. As per the reports of UNI, the court will announce the quantum of sentencing against Lalu Yadav on February 21. Meanwhile, Lalu Yadav will be shifted to Hotwar Jail under judicial custody.

The court of special CBI Judge SK Sashi held Lalu Yadav and others guilty in the case while 24 others were acquitted by the court over lack of evidence. However, lawyers of Lalu Yadav said that it is for the court to decide whether he will be instructed to appear physically in the court or the matter will be taken up through video conferencing on February 21. The lawyers have also filed a petition before the court citing the old age and poor health conditions of Lalu Yadav and have urged the court to shift to RIMS Ranchi.

A hearing on the petition will be held in the second half. Doranda Treasury Case is the last case of the Fodder Scam involving Lalu Yadav and also the biggest case of the multi-crore fodder scam.
