CM Singh withdraws FIRs against farmer protests regarding Agriculture Bills

Chief Minister Office announce Wednesday FIRs withdrawal against farmer protects against Section 144 of the Punjab state and Agriculture Bills

FIRs against farmers for protests against Section 144 of the Punjab state are withdrawn.

Earlier today, Punjab CM Amarinder Singh requested farmers not to violate Section 144 or stop traffic over the Agriculture Bills or the anti-farmer bills. However, he has made clear that no cases were to be filed against them for the violations “as they were fighting for their lives.”

Farmers are the backbone of
the state’s economy. Amarinder understands that the legislations would ruin them and their families. He appeals to farmers and asks to protest in Delhi before the central government. “Congress will stand with farmers in this fight.” – Chief Minister’s Office.
