Bihar Election Results 2020: Phase-wise lead in Bihar

BJP, JD(U), RJD each have won 2 seats so far. The BJP is leading on 73 more seats and JD(U) in 40. The RJD is leading in 69 seats. If the current numbers remain unchanged, the NDA will have a sweep win with the BJP emerging as the single-largest party.

The exit polls had predicted Tejashwi Yadav led Grand alliance (Mahagatbandhan) to topple the previously established government, but the combined efforts of the ‘Mahagatbandhan’ – RJD, Congress, Left Parties – have not been reciprocated in their favour by the voters of the state.

The ruling JD(U) formed an alliance with BJP to create the NDA power and is trotting ahead of the opposition with BJP pulling the JD(U) safely up. A party or coalition must secure 122 seats in the 243-member assembly to form the government in Bihar. As many as 3,755 candidates are in the fray this year.
