Bengal Elections 2021: BJP won’t blame the umpire in case of defeat, says BJP chief JP Nadda

BJP Chief JP Nadda on Wednesday replied to Derek O’Brien’s free and fair election remark and said, BJP isn’t one of those players who blame umpire when they begin to lose.

The Bharatiya Janata Party chief JP Nadda on Wednesday made appalling statements against the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) in Rajya Sabha about the upcoming West Bengal assembly elections. The senior leader expressed his concerns over TMC MP Derek O’Brien’s free and fair election and asserted that BJP is not one of those players who would blame the umpire in the event of losing, reported the news agency ANI.

“BJP isn’t one of those players who blame umpire when they begin to lose. He (TMC MP Derek O’Brien) asked that we should have free & fair elections. As BJP chief, I say it with full responsibility that we’ve never questioned EC’s decision,” BJP MP JP Nadda said.

He also mentioned that the party has always accepted its credibility and they (BJP members) are not the ones who would blame the EVMs for their loss.

“We have always accepted its credibility. We are not one of those who blame the EVM when they lose or one of those who are emperors when they win. Today they are scared, coming events cast their shadows,” said BJP chief and MP, JP Nadda in Rajya Sabha.

Owing to the current political environment in West Bengal, the assembly election will see a tough competition between the TMC and BJP. The polls will be held in eight phases beginning with polling in 30 seats on 27th March. Votes cast in the poll for all the 294 seats will be counted on 2nd May.
