AAP’s MLA Raghav Chadha departs for GOA, accepts Goa Power Minister’s challenge to debate on Twitter

Nilesh Cabral Goa Power Minister had challenged Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to a debate over his model of electricity. Aam Admi Party (AAP) MLA Raghav Chadha has accepted the challenge and boarded a flight to Goa today and asked for the venue and time for the public debate. He also tweeted a photo of him in the flight.

Raghav Chadha replied to Nilesh Cabral’s challenge for the debate on the electricity model on Monday to which Cabral responded he is ready to debate with “like-minded people”, but not the “one who’s not connected” with the issue. “I don’t have any problem in debating with the like-minded people who understand the power problems of Delhi and Goa. I don’t seek to debate with one who’s not connected to it. Delhi power minister is welcome for the debate. I haven’t challenged anybody,” Cabral added.

From a video of a press conference held by Cabral, Chadha tweeted, “Mr Cabral wants to have a public debate. I will reach Goa by 2.00 PM on November 17. Kindly intimate time and venue anytime thereafter, where I should come for public debate.” To which Cabral had said, “We are ready to sponsor the flight ticket to anyone to come down to Goa, who wants to study management of power.”

The argument started when Arvind Kejriwal accused the Goan ministry of ignoring local voices under “the Centre’s diktat” and in return of being accused by Dr Pramod Sawant of doing “divisive politics,” on November 11-12. Further, a BJP member said that “Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should first fix issues of pollution in his area before getting worried about Goa.”
