New Delhi, Jan 8 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Saturday said his party was ready for the Assembly elections, shortly after the Election Commission (EC) announced elections schedule for five states.
“Dates for elections announced. AAP is ready,’ Kejriwal wrote in a tweet in Hindi.
Endorsing Kejriwal, senior party leader and Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in a tweet in Hindi said, “I convey my best wishes to all AAP workers for Punjab, Goa, Uttarakhand and UP elections. AAP will contest elections in these states on the Kejriwal’s model of school and hospital in Delhi.”
Elated over the announcement of polls schedule, AAP Delhi MLA Atishi in a tweet wrote, “Excited with the announcement of elections! AAP is ready! And that too with elections in Punjab, Goa and Uttarakhand being on our lucky date – February 14.”
The poll panel on Saturday announced that Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa, Manipur and Punjab will be held between February 10 and March 7 and counting of votes will take place on March 10.
Polling will be held in seven phases in UP, in two phases in Manipur and on a single day in Goa, Uttarakhand and Punjab.
