Ram Mandir Inauguration: “I feel humbled to have performed a pivotal duty in the form of Rath Yatra”, says L.K. Advani

On the day of ‘bhoomi pujan’ in Ayodhya, senior BJP leader Lal Krishna Advani expresses joy and gratitude on his and his party’s victory.

With just a few hours left to the beginning of the iconic ‘bhoomi pujan’ in Ayodhya, the senior BJP leader, Lal Krishna Advani, celebrates the victory of the government and express contentment and gratitude over the foundation of the temple and ‘Ram Rajya’.

“A grand mandir for Shri Ram at Ram Janmabhoomi has been a debate and mission for Bharatiya Janata Party… I feel humbled that during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement, destiny made me perform a pivotal duty in the form of Ram Rath Yatra from Somnath to Ayodhya in 1990, which helped galvanize the aspirations, energies and passions of the countless participants”, quoted the BJP minister.

In 1992, L.K. Advani led a procession of supporters of the temple to Ayodhya and was also present at the site when Babri Masjid was unlawfully demolished by the kar sewaks.

He also thanked the saints, leaders and everybody who has been a part of this journey to establish the temple, for their “valuable contributions and sacrifices”.

“Shri Ram occupies an esteemed place in India’s cultural and civilization heritage and is an embodiment of grace, dignity and decorum. It is my belief that this temple will inspire Indians to imbibe his virtues”, he quoted in a statement, as reported by Economic Times.

Advani, after having designed the guest list for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, will not be attending the ‘bhoomi pujan’ at Ayodhya today.
