The Government of Arunachal Pradesh has decided to allow only those who are vaccinated to enter the state, as per a report released by The Hindu.
Along with the inoculation with 68% of those aged 18 years and above, having received their first dose of the vaccination, the state government has also gone for aggressive testing for the coronavirus infection.
To stop the spread of the virus a three-prong strategy has been adopted by the state as mentioned by Naresh Kumar, the State Chief Secretary told Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla during an online meeting held on 7th July.
For achieving a 100% coverage of beneficiaries in the 18 plus along with 45 plus age groups, Arunachal Pradesh still needs an additional tree lakh Coronavirus virus vaccines, Kumar added.
To provide incentives to the people who have been reluctant to take the jab, vaccination as a condition for entry into the state follows Arunachal Pradesh’s bid. To the 45 plus people who were taking the jab, officials in the Yazali circle of the State’s lower Subansiri district were one of the first to offer 20kg of rice free to them while cash rewards were offered by some districts of Manipur and Meghalaya to maximize the vaccination coverage.
While deciding whether or not to Avail of the services, traders and commercial vehicle operators were asked to display their vaccination status for customers and passengers or to operate after vaccination, Businesses and salaries of employees were linked to the vaccination by Assam, Manipur, and Meghalaya.
