Yogi Adityanath launches Rs 655 crore projects in Deoria, targets mafia rule in UP

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 19 development projects worth more than Rs 655 crore in Deoria district, while also distributing cheques and benefits to beneficiaries under various government welfare schemes.

Addressing a large public gathering during the event, the Chief Minister said India is witnessing a “new era of development” under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asserted that the BJP government has ensured inclusive growth across Uttar Pradesh without discrimination.

Yogi Adityanath said the state government has transformed the law-and-order situation and dismantled the influence of mafia networks that once dominated parts of Uttar Pradesh.

“Under the leadership and vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is witnessing a new era of development. The BJP government has ensured development for every section of society without discrimination and has ended mafia rule in Uttar Pradesh,” the Chief Minister said during his speech in Deoria.

Officials said the projects launched and inaugurated cover multiple sectors including roads, healthcare, drinking water supply, education, irrigation, urban development and public infrastructure. The initiatives are expected to improve connectivity and civic facilities in Deoria and surrounding regions of eastern Uttar Pradesh.

During the programme, the Chief Minister also distributed financial assistance, welfare scheme benefits and sanction letters to beneficiaries linked to housing, social welfare and livelihood programmes. State government representatives said the schemes are aimed at supporting economically weaker families, farmers, women and youth.

Yogi Adityanath highlighted the state government’s focus on infrastructure expansion and welfare delivery, saying development projects are now reaching districts that were previously neglected. He added that eastern Uttar Pradesh has witnessed rapid progress in road construction, medical facilities, power supply and investment opportunities over the past few years.

The Chief Minister also referred to ongoing infrastructure projects and welfare initiatives being implemented across Uttar Pradesh under both state and central government programmes. He said improved governance and stronger law enforcement have created a more secure environment for investment and development.

Senior ministers, local MPs, MLAs and district officials were present during the programme in Deoria. Security arrangements were tightened around the venue due to the Chief Minister’s visit.

The event forms part of the Uttar Pradesh government’s continuing outreach and infrastructure expansion drive ahead of upcoming administrative and developmental targets across the state.
