A disturbing incident has emerged from Bareilly where a man has been accused of murdering his nine-year-old disabled son and secretly burying the body near a village pond. The incident was reported from the Sirauli police station area and came to light after the victim’s younger siblings allegedly revealed the details of the crime to their mother and police officials.

According to police sources, the deceased child, identified as Kanhaiya, was physically disabled since birth and required constant assistance for daily activities. His mother, Sandhya, alleged that her husband Anil was often frustrated over the child’s condition and frequently expressed anger regarding the responsibility of caring for him.

As per the complaint filed by the mother, the incident allegedly took place on Sunday when Anil reportedly strangled the child during an argument at home. The accused allegedly did not inform family members or neighbours about the death and later buried the body near a pond outside the village during the night.

The case took a dramatic turn when the victim’s younger siblings, a four-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl, reportedly told their mother and police that they had witnessed their father assaulting Kanhaiya. Their statements raised suspicion and prompted immediate police action.

Following the complaint, police officials and local administration conducted a search operation at the location identified by the children. In the presence of administrative officers, including Nayab Tehsildar Deepak Kumar and Station House Officer Vinod Singh, excavation work was carried out near the pond. During the digging process, the body of the child was recovered from the spot.

Police said the body was found in a decomposed condition and was later sent for post-mortem examination to determine the exact cause of death. A forensic team also visited the crime scene and collected evidence related to the investigation.

Officials confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused father based on the mother’s complaint and the statements of the children. The accused has been taken into custody for questioning. However, during interrogation, he reportedly claimed that the child had died due to illness.

Police stated that further legal action will be taken after the post-mortem report is received.
