Security forces kill 5 terrorists in NW Pakistan

Islamabad, Dec 30 : Pakistani security forces killed five terrorists during an operation in the country’s northwest tribal district of North Waziristan, said the military on Saturday.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the media wing of the Pakistani military, said in a statement that the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Mir Ali area of North Waziristan, a district in the northwest Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

The military added that the operation triggered an intense exchange of fire, which killed the terrorists, including a terrorist commander Rahzeb alias Khoray.

According to the ISPR, the terrorists were involved in attacks on civilians and security forces, as well as money extortion from civilians.

Arms and ammunition were also recovered during the operation, added the ISPR.

Jamaat-e-Islami Terror Financing Case: NIA raids Doda and Jammu

National Investigation Agency on Monday conducted searches at the premises of six defendants in Doda and Jammu districts of Jammu and Kashmir in the case pertaining to the Jamaat-e-Islami J&K Terror Financing case (RC 03/2021/NIA/ DLI).

The investigation conducted led to the recovery of incriminating literature, receipts of funds raised by JEI J&K, banks and property-related documents, and some electronic devices.

The spokesman said that a charge sheet has been filled earlier against 4 accused in this case. And, a case was registered suo-moto on Feb 5th, last year.

Even after the declaration as Unlawful Association in 2019, Jamaat-e-Islami J&K continues to raise funds in various forms allegedly for charitable purposes. These funds raised under the name of charitable purposes were however being diverted to terrorist associations.

Hizb-ul-Mujahideen and Lashkar-e-Toiba are the famous terror groups which are held responsible for promoting terror activities in the Kashmir valley as well as the entire nation.

The investigation is under process and more information is awaited.

Over 500 IS terrorists surrender in Syria’s Al-Hasakah

Up to 550 terrorists affiliated to the Islamic State (IS, a terrorist organisation outlawed in Russia) surrendered to the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) after the Al-Sina’a prison break in the Syrian city of Al-Hasakah, the SDF reported on Tuesday. “The number of surrendered terrorist mutineers in al-Sina’a prison has risen to 550 terrorists, following another 250 terrorist mutineers were forced to surrender themselves this morning when our forces conducted thorough and precise raids on a building where the terrorist mutineers were barricaded,” the statement said.

The SDF reported on Monday that 300 IS fighters were captured after several incursions conducted by its militants into buildings where the terrorists were entrenched. Furthermore, the SDF carried out security and military operations aimed at liberating the prison staff captured by the IS rebels. By Tuesday, 23 personnel have been rescued, according to the SDF.

On January 20, IS fighters attacked Al-Sina’a prison in Al-Hasakah used by the SDF for the confinement of captured terrorists. The assault spurred deadly clashes between the SDF and IS militants, many terrorists managed to escape while others barricaded at the prison sites while holding prison hostages. Over 10,000 soldiers have been mobilized to fight militants, assisted by military equipment of the US-led international coalition. Ongoing clashes have already forced more than 3,000 people to flee their homes in Al-Hasakah.

On Tuesday, the UN human rights watchdog expressed concerns over the safety of the civilians residing in the city. According to the SDF, preliminary data shows that 27 SDF soldiers and 175 terrorists have been killed in the hostilities.

Terrorists open fire at a civilian in South Kashmir

On Friday night in Lurgam, Tral of Pulwama in South Kashmir, an employee of the Government education department was shot by the terrorists. The terrorists entered inside the residence of the employee and opened fire.

Javed Ahmed Malik, a 35 year old man from South Kashmir, is an employee of the government’s education department. He was working as a peon at a Government school.

Forces had reached the spot and search operations have began in the area, as per latest news reports.

Two terrorists were gunned down in an encounter in Pulwama, confirm officials

According to reports, officials on Wednesday informed that two terrorists have been gunned down in an ongoing encounter between terrorists and security forces in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir.

The firefight commenced in the early hours of the day after a joint team of police and the army cordoned off the area and initiated a search operation. As per reports, the search operation was conducted on the grounds of specific information about the presence of terrorists.

When the security forces arrived at the spot where the terrorists were hiding, they witnessed a heavy volume of fire which triggered the encounter.

Police officials informed, “Two unidentified terrorists killed in Pulwama encounter. Operation is in progress.”

‘India Today’ quoted the Kashmir zone police who affirmed that incriminating materials along with arms and ammunition were recovered by the security forces.

Earlier, two terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Pulwama on July 8. The encounter followed at a time when few areas of the valley remained close to mark the five years after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist commander Burhan Wani.

Meanwhile, on the same day, two terrorists were gunned down in an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam. Later, the terrorist was identified as Kiyafat Ramzan Sofi of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and Inayat Ahmed Dar of Al Badr.

2 Al-Qaeda Operatives in custody, planned explosions in UP

Prashant Kumar, the Additional Director General of Police said that the two residents of Lucknow, Minhaz Ahmed and Maseeruddin, were planning to unleash terror activities before the Independence day.

The two operatives of Al Qaeda linked Ansar Ghazwatul Hind were arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Police. It had been said by the ATS that the two arrested men, Minhaz Ahmed and Maseeruddin, had planned explosions, including the use of human bombs at several places in the state.

The Police had mentioned that Ahmed was a resident of Lucknow’s Dubagga Area, and Maseeruddin lived in Madiyaon area of Lucknow. Prashant Kumar said that a huge amount of explosives were seized from the houses of the two men.

Prashant Kumar further added that Ahmed and Maseeruddin were planning to unleash terror activities before August 15 in various cities of the state, including Lucknow. The members of this module were not only from Lucknow but were also from Kanpur.

The ADGP Prashant Kumar also said that the two accused were working under the instructions of Umar Halmandi, the head of the Uttar Pradesh module of Al-Qaeda.

Raids were conducted at different places by the ATS to catch the associates of the two terrorists who had escaped before Ahmed and Maseeruddin were arrested.

The accused Al-Qaeda operatives would be produced before the court and would be taken into a police custody afterwards.

The ATS recovered two semi-prepared IED- based pressure cooker bombs, explosive materials and pistol from the house of Ahmed and was now sealed under custody.

The police has intensified the checking at Uttar Pradesh, including the checking at airports, highways and bus stations.

Mehrazuddin Halwai, another Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, encountered

Hizbul Mujahideen, a top terrorist outfit, had been eliminated in an encounter in the Handwara district, as mentioned by the police on Wednesday. Mehrazuddin alias Ubaid was one of the oldest terrorists of the terror outfit. Vijay Kumar, the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir, had said that the killing of Mehrazuddin Halwai was a big success.

The Kashmir Zone Police in a tweet had said quoting the IGP Kashmir that one of the oldest and top commanders of HM terror outfit Mehrazuddin Halwai alias Ubaid had neutralized in the Handwara encounter, he was involved in many terror crimes, and the encounter was a big success for them.

On Wednesday morning, the security forces had launched a cordon and search operation at Pazipora-Renan in the Handwara area of the district, following the information about the presence of the militants there. The police said that the operation had turned into an encounter after the security forces were fired upon by Mehrazuddin Halwai.

The police also added that Mehrazuddin Halwai had been killed in retaliatory action by the security personnel.

Mehrazuddin Halwai, the encountered terrorist, at Ubaid had joined terrorist ranks in the year 2011, he had a diploma in computer application, he was also responsible for misusing social media and new methods of communications for terrorism.

3 terrorists killed, 1 jawan injured in the Shopian encounter

Three terrorists were reportedly gunned down in an encounter between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian district. The recent reports also suggest that one security personnel sustained injuries amid the crossfire.

The fierce gun battle took place at Jan Mohalla in the Shopian town on Thursday as Two-three militants were trapped by the security forces inside a house.

According to the police officials, the security personnel launched a cordon and search operation at Baba Mohalla after receiving inputs about the presence of terrorists. The jawans retaliated as the terrorists opened fire on the security forces.

“Shopian Encounter Update: 3 unidentified terrorists killed. Operation going on. Further details shall follow,” the Kashmir Zone Police said in a tweet on Thursday.

It is also being reported that amongst the trapped militants, one of them is the top commander of the Al-Qaeda inspired terror outfit Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. The militant organization has been coordinating with Pakistan-based Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) in Jammu and Kashmir.

The encounter in the Shopian district started when forces from the Army, police and the CRPF cordoned off the Jan Mohalla in Shopian on the basis of specific input about the presence of militants in the area, suggest the recent reports.

The exchange fire between the security personnel and the militants resulted in an encounter. IG Police Vijay Kumar and GOC Victor Force reportedly rushed to the spot and are currently monitoring the operation which continues to be in progress as more updates are still awaited.

Considering the recent encounter, internet services have been terminated in the Shopian and Pulwama districts.

3 terrorists neutralised in an operation by the Security Forces in Srinagar

Three terrorists have been neutralised today in the ongoing encounter with the security forces in Srinagar, according to the Kashmir Zone Police on Thursday.

In an operation in the Batamaloo area of Srinagar, a civilian died while a Deputy Commandant of CRPF got injured. The injured personnel has been admitted to hospital and is under medical observation, says Jammu&Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh, according to ANI.
The police and CRPF personnel are carrying out the operation.

“One identified terrorist killed. Search is going on,” the tweet by the Kashmir Zone police read.
