Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Sindhu Hospital in Hyderabad on Sunday, May 10, 2026, in a major addition to the city’s healthcare infrastructure, according to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and public‑impact statements released by the government. The hospital has been described in official communications as a state‑of‑the‑art, cancer‑focused, multi‑super specialty quaternary care facility spread across about 2.1 million square feet, with 18 floors and around 1,500 beds.

Prime Minister said he had inaugurated Sindhu Hospital in Hyderabad and called it “a laudable effort to improve healthcare infrastructure in the city and surrounding areas.” He also praised the hospital team for its “emphasis on integrating latest technology and innovation,” saying that approach is “appreciable” and aligns with the government’s push for advanced, technology‑driven healthcare across India.

Officials note that the hospital is designed as a not‑for‑profit, quaternary‑care institution, providing high‑end diagnostics and treatment across more than 33 super specialities, including comprehensive cancer care, critical care, surgeries, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, bone marrow transplants and advanced imaging services. The project is part of a larger cluster of development initiatives in Telangana that the Prime Minister has been dedicating to the nation during his visit on May 10.

Sindhu Hospital’s management and promotional material highlight extensive use of cutting‑edge technology, including advanced MRI, CT scans, digital X‑ray, ultrasound and other modern radiology and diagnostics tools, aimed at improving accuracy and patient outcomes. The facility is being promoted as a holistic oncology‑centric hospital, combining world‑class specialists with personalized care and digital‑health systems to support complex, long‑term medical needs.

The inauguration of Sindhu Hospital in Hyderabad’s Hi‑Tech City area is being presented by the government as a milestone in expanding access to advanced medical care in Telangana and the wider region, with an emphasis on training, research and innovation alongside treatment.
