CBI concludes Sushant Singh Rajput death case after extensive investigation

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has officially filed a closure report in the case concerning the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput, concluding that there is no evidence of foul play. This marks the end of a comprehensive investigation that began in August 2020, following the actor’s untimely demise on June 14, 2020.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment, leading to widespread speculation and media coverage. Initially handled by the Mumbai Police, the case was later transferred to the CBI after the Supreme Court’s directive, which upheld the validity of the First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Bihar Police based on a complaint filed by Rajput’s father.

The CBI’s investigation encompassed multiple facets, including allegations against Rajput’s then-girlfriend, actress Rhea Chakraborty, and her family. The agency meticulously examined various angles, including financial transactions and potential abetment to suicide. However, after thorough scrutiny, the CBI found no evidence to support claims of foul play or criminal involvement in Rajput’s death.

As part of the investigation, a panel of forensic experts from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was consulted. The panel ruled out the possibility of murder, aligning with the findings of the Mumbai Police’s initial assessment. This medical evaluation played a crucial role in guiding the direction of the investigation.

Legal Proceedings

Throughout the investigation, various legal proceedings took place, including the arrest and subsequent bail of Rhea Chakraborty in a related drug case. The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) conducted a parallel investigation into alleged drug use in Bollywood, which brought additional attention to the case but was separate from the CBI’s findings regarding the cause of Rajput’s death.

The case attracted significant public interest and media scrutiny, leading to numerous debates and discussions about mental health, the pressures of the film industry, and the role of media in high-profile investigations. The closure report by the CBI aims to bring a conclusion to the speculations surrounding the case.

With the filing of the closure report, the CBI has effectively concluded its investigation into Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, stating that there is no evidence of foul play.

685 farmers commit suicide in Marathwada region in 8 months:Officials

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Sep 12 : Farmers in Marathwada, who have been facing heavy rains for last three years in a row and now the scanty rainfall this year are taking the extreme step of suicide , fed up with debt, infertility and depression.

Therefore, farmer suicides are not stopping in Marathwada. shockingly, as many as 685 farmers have committed suicide in Marathwada in the last eight months.

Official update statistics upto August 31 stated that , averagely near about 3 farmers are committing suicides per day .

Especially, most suicides were reported in Beed district of state agriculture minister Dhananjay Munde’s home district which is known as drought prone where 186 farmers suicide cases reported in the last eight months followed by Osmanabad district 113,Nanded 110 , Aurangabad district 95, Parbhani district 58 ,Latur district 51, Jalna district 50 and Hingoli district 22.

During the beginning of this year heavy unseasonal rains and now in monsoon period scanty rainfall have caused huge losses to farmers in Marathwada.

Due to long dry spell in month of August this year Khariff crops were ruined at most of the areas in these districts and also water resources are empty till Tuesday resulting in fodder issue.

Due to the worry of how to repay the loan, the constant hassle from the bank, the demand from the lender for money and the worry of running the family as the financial situation deteriorates, the farmers are committing suicide.

865 farmers have committed suicide in the last eight months of this year.

The statistic further stated that out of the 865 suicide cases, 475 cases have been found eligible for compensation .

As per the rule , compensation has been given to next of kins of 433 deceased by the respective district administrations.

Meanwhile, claims in 97 cases were found ineligible following official inquiries made by the respective district administrations, and the remaining 113 cases are still pending for inquiries, the statistic added.

Meanwhile ,recently Nationalist Congress Party (NCP-Sharad Pawar Group) state president Jayant Patil has put the government on edge due to the increasing number of farmer suicides in the state and said the state government has failed to prevent them.

Nitin Desai suicide case: Maharashtra police have filed a complaint against employees of ECL Finance and Edelweiss Group

For allegedly aiding in the death of art director Nitin Desai, Raigad police in Maharashtra on Friday filed an offence against five people, including representatives of ECL Finance and Edelweiss Group. According to an officer, a First Information Report was filed at the Khalapur police station under Indian Penal Code sections 306 (abettement of suicide) and 34 (common purpose) in response to a complaint made by Neha Desai, Desai’s wife.

According to the complaint, her husband committed himself as a result of ongoing psychological abuse related to the loans his firm had taken out.Based on to reports, Desai hung himself on Wednesday at his studio in Karjat, Raigad district, where he had previously worked on well-known Bollywood films including “Lagaan” and “Jodhaa Akbar.”

His business had neglected to repay creditors for a loan of Rs 252 crore, and the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal had already begun bankruptcy proceedings against it. Two loans totaling Rs 185 crore were obtained by Desai’s business, ND’s Art World Pvt Ltd, through ECL Finance in 2016 and 2018. Problems with repayment began in January 2020. The Edelweiss Group’s non-banking financing division is called ECL financing.

34 year old man slits his own throat in-front of Police in Chennai

On Monday, a 34-year-old drunk man slit his own throat with a liquor bottle after he had been confronted by a police officer for drinking alcohol in the open in Chennai’s Tirumullaivoyal area. However, the man died on the way to the hospital.

Bhagyaraj was the identity of the drunk 34-year-old man, who was an auto driver and resident of Ayyapan Nagar at Ayapakkam in the Thiruvallur district.

On Monday afternoon a head constable, Santhosh, at the Tirumullaivoyal Police Station, was on a round in Ayapakkam when he saw 4 men drinking in the middle of the bushes which was 50 metres away from an auto-rickshaw parked on the road opposite of a private school.

The senior Police officer said that Santhosh, the head constable, asked the 4 men to leave the spot, and two of them left immediately. However, Bhagyaraj and a friend of his, Pradip, did not leave the scene, both of them drunk. Santhosh went closer to them and asked them to leave the spot but Bhagyaraj denied doing so and threatened the head constable by saying that he would harm himself if he came closer. The senior police officer added that when the head constable raised his voice again, then the man, Bhagyaraj suddenly broke the liquor bottle and allegedly slit his neck by the broken liquor bottle.

The senior officer mentioned that the head constable informed the police station of the incident and had rushed Bhagyaraj to a hospital. He was rushed to Kilpauk Medical College Hospital in his own auto-rickshaw after being given first aid. However, the man was declared dead before reaching the hospital.

The case has been registered by the Tirumullaivoyal police. The police had mentioned that the deceased has a wife and two children.

On the first day of a two-day monsoon session of the Maharashtra Assembly, the Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar informed that the posts for which the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examinations were completed will be filled up on the basis of priority by July 31, 2021.

The announcement comes after the suicide of an MPSC aspirant, Swapnil Lonkar, who had successfully passed the preliminary and main examinations in 2019. He had not secured a job yet as the final interview was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Deputy CM has assured that the government would sympathetically consider providing financial assistance to the family of the deceased.

Moreover, it was said that the state government would create an atmosphere where no such steps are taken in the future.

He added, “Due to COVID, several functionaries are affected, the same is with MPSC exams. Still, I’d say that Swapnil shouldn’t have taken such an extreme step.”

He continued with talking about the discussion with cabinet meeting over this on July 4. They will be meeting GAD i.e. General Administration Department today and will take immediate steps. Also, they will look into the aspects of helping the family of Swapnil Lonkar.

Political as well as student leaders have asked Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to ensure the timely conduct of examinations alongside providing jobs to the students that are unemployed.

Three women commit suicides within 48 hours in Kerela: Read below to know why

On June 21-22, Kerela was shocked when three suicides were committed by young women within 48 hours in the state with the highest female literacy (95.2%) in the country.

The young women left notes behind that claimed they were forced to take this deadly step because of ‘dowry harassment’.

A debate has been triggered in Kerela by the suicides about the concerning gender insensitivity prevalent in the state.

22-year-old Vismaya V. Nair was found hanging at her husband’s home in Sasthamkotta in Kollam district on
June 21 night. She was an Ayurveda BAMS student. She texted her relatives on WhatsApp before her death about the alleged torture by her husband Kiran. He is a motor vehicle inspector in the transport department. Last May, the couple tied the knot. Her father Thrivikraman is a local the Communist Party of India leader. As Dowry, he had gifted the groom a new car worth Rs 10 lakh, 1.25 acres of land, and 100 sovereigns gold.

After the bride’s family lodged a complaint with the police, Kiran got arrested on 24 June. Vismaya died due to hanging. However, it’s still not confirmed whether it was a case of suicide or murder, according to the post-mortem report. The probe is being conducted by a high-level police team headed by Inspector General Harshita Attalluri.

Archana, another 24-year-old died just 24 hours later. She was allegedly set ablaze by her husband in Vizhinjam. This took place in the Thiruvananthapuram district. The couple got married in 2020 and the girl’s family alleged dowry-related torture by the husband.

Then again on June 22, Suchithra Vishnu, a 19-year-old was found hanging at her in-laws’ home. Her husband was an army havildar posted in Uttarakhand. Her family also claimed that they suffered from dowry-related torture.

The series of dowry-related tortures and suicides have left the nation in shock while it also exposed the dark, women oppressing side of the Kerela society.

Anjana A.S, a journalism student based in Thiruvananthapuram says “A change will happen only when Kerala’s women liberate themselves from traditional roles, get out of the subordinate roles prescribed by our society.”

She added, “These numbers do not reflect the real situation in our families,” says a senior lady police officer. “Even well-educated and well-employed women are tortured over dowry, and after years of marriage. It’s the same male chauvinist mindset which also rules Kerala and its politics.”

John McAfee found dead in his cell, apparently commited suicide

John McAfee, founder of McAfee found dead in his prison cell in Brians 2 penitentiary near Barcelona. A spokeswoman for the prison system in the northeastern Catalonia region said that he apparently died from suicide. No further details were provided by her.

He was arrested at Barcelona airport in October 2020 and has been in jail in Spain ever since. He was about to board a flight to Istanbul before getting arrested.

Shortly after a court gave approval to John McAfee for extradition to the United States, he died by alleged suicide on Wednesday. He was wanted for tax evasion in the United Nations.

Antivirus software pioneer, McAfee is alleged to have deliberately failed to file tax returns between 2014 and 2018. He did not file tax returns even after earning earning millions from consulting work, cryptocurrencies and selling the rights to his life story.

McAfee earned more than 10 million euros ($12 million) in the four years in question ( between 2014 and 2018). He never filed a tax return, according to the US extradition request filed in November and quoted in the ruling.

The 75-year-old if convicted, could have faced up to 30 years in prison.

Earlier on Wednesday, Spain’s National Court had approved his extradition to the United States. The decision would also have needed approval from the Spanish cabinet.

Antivirus software founder John McAfee was found dead in his jail cell in Spain on Wednesday, a prison official told “shortly after a court approved his extradition to the United States where he was wanted for tax evasion.”

The 75-year-old pioneer was found dead in his cell in the Brians 2 penitentiary near Barcelona “apparently from suicide,” a spokeswoman for the prison system in the northeastern Catalonia region said. She gave no further details in brief.

McAfee has been in jail in Spain, he was arrested at Barcelona airport in October 2020, just as he was about to board a flight to Istanbul.

He is alleged to have deliberately failed to file the income tax returns between 2014 and 2018 (continuously for 4 years), despite earning millions from consulting work, cryptocurrencies and selling the rights to his life story.

If he found convicted, he could have faced up to 30 years in prison.

Spain’s National Court earlier on Wednesday said it had approved his extradition to the US.

The decision could still have been appealed and the extradition would also have needed approval from the Spanish cabinet.

According to the US extradition request filed in November and quoted in the ruling, John McAfee earned more than 10 million euros ($12 million) in the four years in question, but never filed a tax return between 2014-18.

“To conceal his income and assets from the Internal Revenue Service… the defendant ordered part of his income to be paid to straw men and placed property in their names,” it said.

Since making a fortune in the 1980s with the antivirus software that still bears his name, McAfee had become a self-styled crypto-currency guru, claiming to make $2,000 a day. Currently, before he died, he has more than 1 Million or 10 Lakh Followers on Twitter.

‘Baba Ka Dhaba’ owner Kanta Prasad attempts suicide, admitted to hospital

Baba Ka Dhaba owner in South Delhi’s Malviya Nagar area Kanta Prasad attempted suicide on Thursday night and was thereafter admitted to Safdarjung Hospital, the police said. The police identified him after they received a PCR call that a man, who attempted suicide, had arrived at the hospital.

Earlier this month, Kanta Prasad, who became famous overnight after his video went viral on social media, closed his new restaurant after suffering huge losses. After six months of fame, the old couple was back to the roadside eatery in south Delhi’s Malviya Nagar, desperately waiting for customers.

As per a Hindustan Times report, the new restaurant of Baba Ka Dhaba owner Kanta Prasad shut down in February after heavy losses. Kanta Prasad had spent about Rs 5 lakh to open the restaurant. While the monthly expenditure of the restaurant was around Rs 1 lakh, the average monthly sales never exceeded Rs 40,000.

The expenses of Kanta Prasad included Rs 35,000 for restaurant rent, Rs 36,000 for the salary of three employees and Rs 15,000 for ration, electricity and water. Gradually, the number of customers going to the restaurant decreased and the cost of the restaurant started increasing. After this, Kanta Prasad Baba had to close his restaurant.

Bengali TV actor Suvo Chakraborty attempts suicide on Facebook live

Suvo Chakraborty, a Bengali TV actor, committed suicide after being depressed due to his inability to get work. According to reports, a Livestream user alerted local authorities, who located him down and saved him.

He said, “Every household has this problem. My mother will say my son is unemployed at 31. My father died last year and we are living on pension money. When one is depressed, they don’t feel like living. I am not doing this just for show. I am really swallowing sleeping pills slowly.”

He added, “I don’t know, jumping from the roof, cutting my hand, I don’t like all this. Finally, I found sleeping pills. Those who have high blood pressure have chances of getting a cardiac arrest.”

He concluded his Live by saying, “Let’s see what happens, if I am alive, I will make another video,” after finishing the entire strip of sleeping pills. Speaking to TOI, a police official said, “We consider such matters very seriously. Yesterday night we got call from a Facebook user about the incident and rushed to help. He is safe. We spoke with Suvo’s sister too.”

Suvo Chakraborty has been in the television shows Mangal Chandi and Manasa. Mangal Chandi is a mythical play in which Adrija Auddy Roy, Sreyasri Roy, Shamik Chakraborty, and Nabanita Malakar also star.

South Korean Actor Song Yoo-jung passes away at 26

South Korean actresss Song Yoo-jung was found dead on Saturday in Seoul, South Korea.

On Monday, Jan 25, the actress’s agency, Sublime Talent Agency confirmed the news of her death. They released a statement in Instagram, “Actress Song YooThe cause of death is yet unknown.” The agency added she died on Jan 23 and has since been laid to rest in accordance with her family’s wishes. Bollywood actor Asif Basra commits suicide, found dead in Dharamshala house

Actor Akshat Utkarsh found dead in his Mumbai flat, police claims suicide

Bihar actor Akshat Utkarsh was found dead in his Mumbai flat on Sunday evening i.e 27th September. According to Amboli Police officials, the actor died by suicide as there was lack of work. They also claimed that he was depressed. On the other hand, the actor’s family denies the ‘suicide’ angle and claims it to be murder.

The actor’s family took the body to their native place Muzaffarpur on Tuesday. The family are going against the Police and claims negligence. Whereas, the officials reported that the actor used to live with a female friend near Andheri, RTO. His friend claimed that he was normal and was behaving as usual on Sunday.

“At around 11.30 pm when she woke up to use the washroom, she found Akshat dead in his room, after which she immediately called the police,” said an officer from Amboli police station. From here, the officials rushed to the house and took the body to the nearest hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Someshwar Kanthe, senior police inspector at Amboli police station said, “We have registered an Accidental Death Record (ADR) and are enquiring the matter. Preliminary enquiry and autopsy report do not indicate any foul play. The incident took place on Sunday night somewhere between 10 pm and 11:30 PM.”

Police officials are currently questioning people close to the actor.

Indian Idol fame singer Renu Nagar unconscious, admitted to ICU as her boyfriend commits suicide

Renu Nagar, of Indian Idol fame, has been admitted to an ICU in a critical condition. Upon hearing the news of her boyfriend, Ravi Nut’s suicide, Renu fell unconscious, unable to bear the mental stress. She was immediately rushed to the hospital by her family members. Ravi committed suicide by consuming poison yesterday. He was admitted to the hospital at 7 pm and was declared dead at 11.15 pm during his treatment.

Renu, a participant of Indian Idol Season 10, and Ravi both belong to Rajasthan. Ravi used to visit Renu’s house in Alwar in order to learn Tabla. They fell in love and eloped about a month ago. Therefore, Renu’s father lodged a case of abduction against him in order to bring the couple back. He claimed that Ravi had brainwashed her into eloping with him. They had returned just 5 days ago and Ravi was released after the police recorded Renu’s statement. Ravi’s father has informed that he is unaware of the reason behind his son’s suicide. It has also been learnt that Ravi is already married and has two children. His wife and children live with his family in Bharatpur. Renu was admitted to Mittal Hospital early today and is undergoing treatment.

Now the actor’s family has given out a hard hitting 9-page-long letter which states how they were threatened and they believe the actor was murdered amidst all the suicidal theories. According to a report by India TV the letter is written in Hindi which states, “The first daughter had magic, someone came and took her away to a foreign country. The second one played for national cricket team while the third one did a study on the law. The fourth daughter did a diploma in fashion designing. The fifth one was Sushant, who was ‘mannat’ of his mother. Whole life the family did not take anything from anyone, neither harmed anyone.”

Although the letter has not mentioned any name in it, it states how a lot people have come forward to talk about Sushant and how they were close to him and questions if they would really help him to acquire justice where lawyers and officials are keen to demean the gravity of the matter. The family has also given hints how Rhea and Sushant’s roommate Siddharth Pithani had planned the conspiracy together, without taking any names, as put up by India TV. Meanwhile the phones of Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty are seized by ED after questioning them for long and Sushant’s sister Mitu Singh also appeared in front of ED for interrogation on Tuesday.

Rhea Chakraborty begs ED to postpone her recording

Rhea Chakraborty’s advocate has recently stated that the actor would not appear before ED till the Supreme court hears her plea.

Chakbraborty has currently filed a petition to Supreme Court for the transfer of her case to Mumbai Police which is currently handled by Bihar police.

On 25th July , SSR’s father had filed a complaint against Rhea Chakraborty and a few of her close relatives accusing them of abetting his son’s suicide and also swindling money from SSR’s bank account. On 31st July, the ED registered a money laundering case against Rhea Chakbraborty and has asked her to appear before the Mumbai Office of Central Agency on 7th August at 11am.

Satish Manishinde has reportedly said, Chakraborty wont be appearing before ED on Friday as she had requested to postpone her recording of statement. But, in light of this plea, ED has not yet responded to her pleas .

Bhojpuri Actress Anupama Pathak commits suicide at her residence in Mumbai

Another shocking news comes in, A 40 year old bhojpuri actress – Anupama Pathak commited suicide in her residence at Dahisar, Mumbai on 2nd of August.

The reports mentioned that she was found hanging in her apartment on 2nd August and a suicide note was also found at the spot.
However, the news didn’t circulate much because she was not a popular actor and hence her death was reported four days after her demise.

As per the reports, The note she left said that she is taking the major step due to financial crises.

“I had invested Rs 10,000 in some Wisdom Producer Company in Malad on friend’s request. The company supposed to return my investment after maturity in December 2019. However, the investment company is doing doldrums in returning my money.” – The actress wrote in the note. (Pinkvilla)
She also mentioned about a guy named “Manish Jha” who took her two-wheeler earlier in may when she was at her native place and didn’t return it back since then.

A day before her death, She went live on Facebook and has spoken about not trusting anyone indicating that she might have got cheated.

The year 2020 has proved to be the most devastating year for the entire world. Most of all it has been very bad for Bollywood. Bollywood lost many of its legendary artists. The most saddening part is that apart from natural reasons, some young stars also committed suicide during the lockdown.

1.Sejal Sharma

The 27 year old actress committed suicide by hanging herself at her residence on Mira Road in Mumbai on January 25,2020. Sejal Sharma played Simmi Khosla in Star Plus show ‘Dil To Happy Hai Ji‘. She belonged to Udaipur, Rajasthan and came to Mumbai in 2017.

2.Chanda VK

Chanda VK aka Chandana committed suicide by consuming poison in her Bengaluru home on May 28. She was often seen in advertisements and was a Kannada TV serial actress. She was 29 years old. Before drinking poison, she told her boyfriend Dinesh about the suicide and also made a video about it.

3.Shridhar
Tamil actor Sridhar (50) along with his sister Jaya Kalyani committed suicide at their Chennai residence. The news of their death came out on 6 June. It is said that due to lockdown, they had shortage of work and couldn’t stand the crisis. Hence, they chose the path of suicide. Their neighbours got to know about the incident days after as their bodies began to rot.

4.Manmeet Grewal

Manmeet Grewal, the Kuldeepak and Aadat Se Majboor fame, committed suicide by hanging himself on the night of 15 May. The actor was 32 years old. He took this step because of not being able to work in the lockdown. He was also suffering from depression. He lived with his wife in Mumbai.

5.Preksha Mehta

Preksha Mehta, the famous face of Crime Patrol committed suicide at her Indore residance on the night of 25 May. According to her father, she had a lack of work in lockdown and was fighting depression. Preksha was 25 years old.

6.Sushant Singh Rajput

The most shocking news was the demise of Sushant Singh Rajput. The 34 year old actor committed suicide by hanging himself in his flat in Bandra, Mumbai on 14 June. The investigation of the case is still going on and the reason of suicide is still not clear.

Disha Salian’s family releases note, requests to not believe and spread fake news and rumours

Aditya Pancholi, Zarina Wahab say their son Sooraj Pancholi’s name is forcibly dragged into Sushant Singh Rajput’s case

It’s been a few weeks since Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise and many assumptions and accusations have been made on social media. The actor’s death has brought in major conversations of nepotism as well.
The latest reports regarding the case suggest the involvement of Sooraj Pancholi and Salman Khan in Sushant’s suicide case. In an interview with Etimes, Sooraj Pancholi’s parents, Aditya Pancholi and Zarina Waheb have addressed these accusations.

They feel that Sooraj’s name is being dragged into the case without any proof or reason. She quoted, “People are unnecessarily dragging Sooraj into this. They just need a helpless person to blame everything for.” In another statement, she also quoted, “Sooraj and Sushant were not ‘friends’ as such but they knew each other and they spoke to each other cordially whenever they met.” She also said that people are targeting her son because they have “too much free time” and because their identities are not known on their social media handles hence rubbishing all the accusations against her son.

His father, Aditya Pancholi has been updated on all the comments against his son. He added, “There is this crazy guy. Some time ago he did some little bit of acting. His name is Puneet Vashist. He wrote something crazy on his Facebook page. He wrote that this whole thing is because Sushant’s manager Disha was pregnant with Sooraj’s child and committed suicide because of him.” Aditya also mentioned that Sooraj is often dragged in suicide cases like Jiah Khan’s case and now Sushant’s which has really disturbed Sooraj. His father is also scared that Sooraj will go into depression and could take a drastic step because of such accusations. Aditya also feels that because of these controversies, Sooraj’s career has been wasted.

Back in 2017, reports say that Sushant and Sooraj had a tiff after which Salman Khan reprimanded Sushant. Talking about this incident, Aditya said that this incident had never occurred and Sooraj has clarified this on record as well. Lastly, Aditya also addressed the ongoing Jiah Khan’s suicide case and how it affected Sooraj’s mental state. He added that Jiah’s mother’s reports of her daughter being murdered is invalid as, after 7 days of her demise, there was a suicide note found. Additionally, he also said that Salman Khan had never been involved in Jiah’s case and he never called the CBI.
