Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited (MTNL) has announced an extension of the additional charge of the post of Director (Technical) assigned to Shri Sudhakararao Papa, Director (Enterprise) at Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). This extension has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) and will be effective for a further period of one year starting from 7 May 2026 or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

The decision follows a proposal from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), Ministry of Communications, Government of India. The initial order was dated 7 May 2025, and the recent extension was communicated through a letter from the DoT dated 24 March 2026.

This move is part of MTNL’s ongoing compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015, which mandates the disclosure of significant events or information.
