Sona BLW Precision Forgings has announced the allotment of 10,700 equity shares under its Employee Stock Option Plan (ESOP) 2023. The Nomination and Remuneration Committee approved this allotment on 30th April 2026, allowing certain eligible employees to exercise their vested options.

The newly allotted shares, each with a face value of ₹10, are fully paid-up and will rank pari passu with the existing equity shares of the company, including dividend entitlement. This allotment has resulted in an increase in the company’s issued and paid-up equity share capital.

Following this allotment, the equity share capital of Sona BLW Precision Forgings has risen from ₹6,21,84,68,900, comprising 62,18,46,890 equity shares, to ₹6,21,85,75,900, comprising 62,18,57,590 equity shares, each with a face value of ₹10.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd., known as Sona Comstar, has reached significant production milestones by manufacturing 500 million differential gears and 10 million differential assemblies since its inception. This achievement underscores the company’s position as a key global provider of driveline solutions.

Sona Comstar, a prominent global manufacturer of differential assemblies and precision-forged differential gears, caters to a wide range of vehicles, including Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs), passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, and off-highway vehicles. The company has steadily expanded its manufacturing capabilities since beginning production at its Gurugram plant in 1999 and later at its Pune facility in 2005.

The company achieved the production of 100 million gears in 2013, followed by 200 million in early 2018. The pace of production has accelerated, with the next 100 million gears produced in just three years, and the 400 million milestone reached within two and a half years. The latest milestone of 500 million gears, with the most recent 100 million produced in the last two years, highlights Sona Comstar’s sustained growth and increasing customer demand.

In terms of differential assemblies, production commenced at the Gurugram plant in 2008, expanding to Pune in 2014 and a new facility in Manesar in 2019. The company produced its one-millionth assembly in 2017, reaching 5 million by 2023. The subsequent 5 million assemblies were produced in under three years, reflecting strong growth and rising demand.
