Discover the latest additions to Xiaomi's Poco lineup, the Xiaomi Poco C61 and the Xiaomi Poco X6 Neo. Dive into a detailed comparison of these smartphones, exploring their design, display, performance, camera, and battery features.

Xiaomi has recently expanded its Poco lineup with the introduction of the Xiaomi Poco C61 and the Xiaomi Poco X6 Neo. These smartphones offer a range of features and specifications tailored to different segments of the market. Let’s delve deeper into the comparison between these two devices, focusing on their design, display, performance, camera, and battery.

Design and Display

Starting with the design, the Xiaomi Poco C61 features a larger form factor, measuring 168.4 x 76.3 x 8.3 mm and weighing 199 grams. It sports a 6.71-inch IPS LCD display with a 90Hz refresh rate and 500 nits of brightness. In contrast, the Xiaomi Poco X6 Neo is more compact, with dimensions of 161.1 x 75 x 7.7 mm and a weight of 175 grams. It boasts a slightly smaller 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a higher 120Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

Performance and Storage

Moving on to performance, the Xiaomi Poco C61 is powered by the Mediatek Helio G36 chipset, while the Xiaomi Poco X6 Neo packs the more powerful Mediatek Dimensity 6080 chipset. The Poco C61 comes with 64GB or 128GB of internal storage paired with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, respectively. On the other hand, the Poco X6 Neo offers higher storage variants of 128GB or 256GB coupled with 8GB or 12GB of RAM.

Camera and Battery

In terms of camera capabilities, the Xiaomi Poco C61 features an 8 MP main camera along with an auxiliary lens and a 5 MP selfie camera. In comparison, the Xiaomi Poco X6 Neo boasts a more impressive camera setup, including a 108 MP main camera, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 16 MP selfie camera. Both devices are powered by a 5000 mAh non-removable battery. However, the Poco X6 Neo supports faster 33W wired charging, whereas the Poco C61 comes with 10W wired charging.

The Xiaomi Poco C61 and the Xiaomi Poco X6 Neo cater to different consumer needs, with the former focusing on affordability and decent performance, while the latter offers a more premium experience with a higher refresh rate display, more powerful chipset, and superior camera setup. Your choice between the two will depend on your budget and specific requirements.

A new cyberattack, "VoltSchemer," exploits flaws in wireless chargers, potentially causing fires, device damage, and voice assistant manipulation.

A recent study published by researchers from Florida University and cybersecurity firm CertiK has sent shockwaves through the tech world, revealing a novel cyberattack method targeting wireless chargers. This “VoltSchemer” attack, as it’s been dubbed, exploits vulnerabilities in these seemingly innocuous devices, posing a significant risk to smartphones and potentially other nearby electronics.

The research delves into the intricate workings of wireless chargers, uncovering security weaknesses that hackers could leverage to wreak havoc. By manipulating the charger’s input voltage, attackers can trigger a series of alarming consequences. In the worst-case scenario, this manipulation can lead to overheating and potential fires within smartphones placed on the charging pad. Additionally, the attack can damage nearby devices due to excessive electromagnetic interference or even trigger unauthorized voice commands through voice assistants integrated into the targeted device.

The study’s findings are particularly concerning as they highlight the vulnerability of popular brands like Anker and Phillips, and even major smartphone manufacturers like Apple and Google. This widespread susceptibility underscores the potential scale of the threat, raising significant concerns for users who rely heavily on wireless charging technology.

The researchers emphasize the gravity of this discovery, describing the attack as scary and akin to black magic due to its ability to manipulate electromagnetic frequencies and inject inaudible voice commands. This emphasizes the sophistication and potential harm associated with VoltSchemer.

The researchers recommend staying informed about the latest developments regarding the attack and familiarizing oneself with the detailed findings outlined in their paper. Additionally, exploring alternative charging methods or implementing security measures specific to wireless chargers may offer some level of protection.

In conclusion, the discovery of the VoltSchemer attack serves as a stark reminder of the ever-evolving cybersecurity landscape. As wireless charging technology becomes increasingly integrated into our daily lives, it’s crucial to acknowledge the potential risks associated with it and take necessary precautions to safeguard our devices and personal information.

Apple iPhone 11:
