The film has been faring really well at the box office. Till August 30, the film has minted over Rs. 440 crores at the Indian box office. Shraddha, who has been mysterious right from the first part seems to have impressed everybody with her performance.

Now, in a conversation with Times Now, Shraddha’s father and actor Shakti Kapoor reacted to the massive box office success of his daughter. Filmmaker duo Raj and DK on Saturday celebrated six years of their hit horror comedy Stree. The film was helmed by Amar Kaushik, who has also directed the latest sequel was written and produced by the filmmaker duo. Raj and DK took to Instagram and shared details about when the idea of the film first came to them, headlined by Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi.

The lengthy note post started with sharing the their two back-to-back movies had sacked at the box office, which usually means an end of career for a filmmaker. Raj shared how he walked up to the cafe and sat the very table where he started with DK on their plan to offer original and fresh stories to the audience. “So, I typed on a blank page, ‘O Stree, Kal Aana!'”

The post further read, “I went back to one of my enduring childhood images-every other wall in my hometown Tirupati was pasted with the writing, ‘O Stree, repu raa.’ Nobody knew what the story behind that was. All they knew was some weird urban legend that some scary stree will come into your house if you don’t write this. Why? How? What does she want? No one knew.”

“As I was discussing with DK, it dawned on us that this just can’t be some silly comedy or silly horror film. This can be so much more.” It was then that the two hit upon the idea of making a “gender reversal” film-what if men were afraid to go out late at night and had to go through what innumerable women have to deal with every day. So many characters and incidents made it to the film from their school days, says the filmmaker.

“A small coffeeshop called Potluck in Andheri West became D2R office 🙂 That’s where we met all the crew, all the actors, discovered a great writer-friend at the next table and discussed endlessly how to start production on this film (like so many filmmakers do at coffeeshops). Ironically as soon as the script was done and the shoot was getting ready, the BMC pulled down that sweet little coffeeshop,” wrote Raj.

The post added that the movie was made on the smallest budget possible and dared to enter theatres once again. He also revealed that Stree was the fastest film ever made and on August 31, 2018, “a ridiculous story against all odds became a phenomenon. Glad we went back to our roots. Glad we stuck to the films we want to make. Glad this was the first Hindi film we produced. There began a renewed second innings of D2R Films on our terms with our kind of stories and with no compromises. The Family Man, Farzi, Guns & Gulaabs, Cinemabandi, Citadel Honey Bunny, Gulkanda Tales, Rakt Brahmand… all followed.”

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao’s Stree 2 has turned out to be a monster at the ticket windows, showing its dominance over all new releases running currently in Indian theatres. Such a marvelous run has kept it on track to enter the Rs. 700 crore club at the worldwide box office, and as per the latest development, it has now hit the Rs. 650 crore milestone in just 16 days.

Helmed by Amar Kaushik, the horror comedy is winning hearts around the world with its content. Riding high on the buzz of the Maddock Supernatural Universe and positive word-of-mouth, the film has achieved several milestones so far, with some exciting feats to be unleashed even in the future. Recently, in the overseas market, it crossed Rs. 100 crore gross.

Coming to the latest collection update, Stree 2 minted a mammoth Rs. 462.85 crore nett by the end of 16 days run at the Indian box office. The gross domestic collection including taxes amounts to Rs. 546.16 crores. In overseas, it has collected Rs. 104 crores gross so far. Combining the Indian and overseas gross, the worldwide box office collection stands at a gigantic Rs. 650.16 crores gross in merely 16 days.

After the success of Stree 2, which also starred Rajkummar Rao in lead and featured Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi, Shraddha is reportedly upgrading her own space by moving into Hrithik’s sea-facing apartment in Juhu. As per the reports by Hindustan Times, Akshay along with his wife Twinkle Khanna and their children resides in the luxurious duplex apartment in the same building where Shraddha also recently moved into.

Initially there were rumors that Varun Dhawan will move into Hrithik’s apartment along with wife Natasha Dalal and their daughter, but that did not materialize.

On Sunday, the makers Maddock Films took to social media platforms to share an update on the latest box office numbers – the film, as per them, now stands at a gross of over ₹500 crore worldwide. Their caption read, “Stree 2 shatters records with a LEGENDARY and HIGHEST ever 2nd Saturday in history! Thank you to everyone for your continued love and support. Book your tickets now…”

The accompanying poster of the film’s star cast said that Stree 2 had grossed ₹505 worldwide after 10 days in theatres – it’s India gross stood at ₹426 crore, while overseas gross was ₹78.5 crore. Makers claim that Stree 2 has added another ₹33 crore nett, taking its box office collection to ₹361 crore nett in India so far.

As reported by Sacnilk, at the domestic box office, the film reached the ₹250 crore club on the sixth day of its release. It is a follow-up to the 2018 movie Stree.

Stree 2 box office collection day 2 seems to be on a roll raking in Rs. 90.30 crore net gross in India as per Sacnilk. With Shraddha Kapoor, Rajkummar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee and Pankaj Tripathi in the star cast, the film opened to very good collections at the box office.

As per the information available on the site, all the special opening premieres of Stree 2 were held on the Wednesday on which the film collected ₹8.5 crore. It was opened to the musical collection of ₹51.8 crore and on its second day it is expected to be the same, so it will gross about ₹30 crore taking the total to more than ₹90 crore. It is expected that there is a likelihood of 42.08% dip. By the second day of its release, it was estimated that the film had attracted about 37.46% occupancy overall. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned comedian Kapil Sharma, Bollywood female stars Shraddha Kapoor and Huma Qureshi, and TV celebrity Hina Khan in connection with the Mahadev betting app case. They were called a day after the ED summoned actor Ranbir Kapoor, and have been ordered to appear in court on October 6.

According to reports, Uravashi Rautela, Ameesha Patel, Boman Irani, and Guru Randhawa may also be questioned in connection with this scam.

It was originally stated that more than 17 Bollywood celebrities are being investigated in the matter.

Saurabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, the creators of the Mahadev app, are accused of using money obtained through betting to bribe celebrities. According to ED sources, over a dozen A-listers, including Bollywood and Tollywood celebrities and athletes, are being investigated. Ranbir Kapoor is reportedly the highest-paid celebrity among these names, and he promoted the app on social media.

The central agency will eventually summon more than 100 influencers who pushed the app. In addition, more than 14 celebrities who attended a wedding celebration hosted by the app’s promoters in Dubai will be summoned.

Meanwhile, it was then revealed that Ranbir’s team contacted the ED and asked two weeks to appear in front of the agency. The ED has “not confirmed any communication yet” with his team.

A source also said Ranbir has not been summoned as an accused. “Ranbir Kapoor has been summoned to understand the betting business transactions. At this point, he has not been summoned as accused. His questioning is important to know his knowledge about the money sources he received. It will possibly indicate the promoters’ plans and their association,” the source said .

“Ranbir Kapoor may not be part of conspiracy but very important to understand the scam,” the source added.

In addition, Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, Atif Aslam, Bharti Singh, Sonakshi Sinha, Pulkit Samrat, and Nushratt Bharuccha performed during the lavish wedding of the company’s promoter Saurabh Chandrakar in the UAE.

What is Mahadev App?

The Mahadev app, according to the ED, is an umbrella syndicate that provides online platforms for illicit betting websites to register new clients, generate user IDs, and launder money through a layered network of benami bank accounts.

The most recent internet gaming laws limit betting.

The company’s owners, Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, are from Bhilai in Chhattisgarh and manage its operations from Dubai. According to the investigation agency, they run four to five similar applications daily and make over 200 crore.

According to the ED, they spend a lot of money in India to advertise betting websites and recruit new users and franchise applications. Last month, assets totaling 417 crore were seized in connection with the Mahadev betting app during searches at 39 addresses in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bhopal.

The Mahadev app was investigated after Chandrakar’s 200-crore February wedding in the UAE, which was entirely paid in cash.

On April 12, Jio Studio released a major announcement regarding its next 100 films and web series. They include Dhunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Bloody Daddy, starring Shahid Kapoor, Stree 2, starring Shraddha Kapoor, and Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan, among many others.

One of these movies is the recently released “Bhool Chuk Maaf” from director Dinesh Vijan. The lead actors in this movie will be Karthik Aryan and Shraddha Kapoor. At the same time, Karan Sharma, who had previously garnered high appreciation from the “Maharani” web series, has been tasked with directing the movie.

Janjaj Patwardhan, who has written the stories for Marathi movies including “Mauli,” “Timepass 2,” “Classmates,” and “Double Seat,” wrote the story for this movie. A romantic comedy movie will be made.

Karthik and Shraddha were most recently spotted together in the movie “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkar,” which makes it unique. Ranbir and Shraddha played the lead roles in the movie, and Karthik had a brief appearance. There is little doubt that Kartik and Shraddha will attract a lot of followers.

About forthcoming movies, Karthik is presently filming “Satyaprem Ki Katha.” He will then begin shooting his next movie with Kabir Khan. At the same time, the much-anticipated movie “Stree 2” has also received a release date. This Rajkumar Rao-starring horror-comedy is set to release on 31 August 2024.

Celebrities from Bollywood rejoice and celebrate Gudi Padwa, also known as the Marathi New Year, every year. Shraddha Kapoor, Mrunal Thakur, and Ankita Lokhande among others performed puja and made Gudi at their homes to celebrate the new year. Vidya Balan, on the other hand, posted images of herself wearing a festive saree to wish her admirers a happy holiday. Shilpa Shetty celebrated the new beginnings by revealing her Satyavanti character in the upcoming pan-Indian movie KD: The Devil.
