Divya Khossla is preparing to release Savi, which stars Anil Kapoor and Harshvardhan Rane in pivotal roles. The film was directed by Abhinay Deo and produced by Mukesh Bhatt and Bhushan Kumar.

While Divya and John Abraham were promoting Satyameva Jayate 2, there were suggestions that both actors would appear together in a Mukesh Bhatt-produced film. When Savi was announced, John’s name was not linked to the film.

In an exclusive interview with Filmibeat, Divya and Abhinay discussed John’s casting in the film. When asked about the claims and whether John was being considered for the film, Divya responded, “I don’t know how those reports came out. I think at that time Satyameva Jayate 2 was coming, so probably from somewhere that report came. But, it was nothing like that.”

Abhinay added, “No, it might be something related to Satyameva Jayate 2.”

Well, it appears that there were only rumours regarding John and Divya starring in the film. But if John had starred in the film, we wonder which role he would have played: Harshvardhan’s or Anil Kapoor’s.

Divya while talking about her experience of working with Anil Kapoor, the actress told the news portal, “I take a lot of pressure on my own, I am a perfectionist, so I don’t need to take a pressure of someone else. I think it was amazing working with him because he is giving his 1000%, I am giving my 1000%. A lot of times it happens that, you are perfoming and if with some actor you click it so well that it’s magic, and with Anil sir I have experienced that whatever was happening it was magic. He is so passionate even at this age, he keeps mentioning his age ‘main 68 ka hu’, but his passion, commitment and sincerity towards work is so amazing.”

Savi is slated to release on 31st May 2024.

KK’s last song will be used in the next film, ‘Savi,’ starring Anil Kapoor and Divya Khossla, which will be released on May 31. The renowned singer, who died nearly two years ago, still holds a unique place in many admirers’ hearts.

His untimely passing left a vacuum in the music industry, but his farewell song will give fans one more chance to hear his deep vocals.

At the trailer launch for ‘Savi,’ producer Mukesh Bhatt shared the touching news that KK recorded the song just a week before dying away. Bhatt expressed his respect for KK, citing their long-standing friendship and the several popular songs they recorded together.

He stated that this film will include KK’s final recorded song, which adds a tremendous emotional depth to its release.

KK, whose full name was Krishnakumar Kunnath, died on May 31, 2022, from a suspected heart arrest after performing at Kolkata’s Nazrul Manch. He was brought to the hospital and confirmed dead, which shocked fans, friends, and family alike. KK is well known for songs like ‘Yaaron,’ ‘Pal,’ ‘Tadap Tadap,’ ‘Beete Lamhein,’ ‘Aankhon Mein Teri,’ and ‘It’s The Time To Disco.

Anvi and Durva handle Ishaan and Savi’s reception plans. Surekha watches Savi leave the house and wonders where she is headed. Savi says she is leaving for some vital work. Surekha says she pledged not to leave the house before reception. Savi claims she pledged not to attend college but will not go anywhere else; she does not need to fear because she will not go anywhere where people will recognise her. Surekha yells and verbally abuses her.

Savi goes out, disobeying her orders. Ishaan walks towards Surekha. Surekha says that Savi disobeyed her directives. Ishaan encourages her to calm down because Savi must have gone to see her sister. Surekha explains that she was ordering her at her own house. Ishaan then tries to calm her down.

Savi attends an interview at a restaurant where the interviewer advises candidates that they will get 12 hours for an 8-hour duty with just a 10-minute break, no leaves, a salary reduction for coming late or taking a crockery break, etc., and probation day today. Three candidates backed out, citing lower pay and stricter requirements. Savi takes the job.

The interviewer takes her inside the restaurant and demonstrates how to deal with customers. He introduces her to her superior and instructs her to follow her commands without thinking. The senior teaches her the rules and her job.

Ishaan prepares notes for Savi. Professor Paranjpe enters and inquires if he is giving any exams. Ishaan asks if she needs anything. Paranjpe says she came to give him an inspection report and inquires about the book he is studying. He mentions a business book titled Mind Your Own Business. Paranjpe apologises and goes. Ishaan then calls Savi. Savi, who is busy responding to customers, declines his phone and sends a message stating that she is busy and will contact him when she returns home. The interviewer hires Savi after observing her hard work.

Yash inquires of Nishikanth whether the reception guest list has been prepared. Nishi claims he invited all of the prominent visitors. Yash warns them to be cautious, and he plans to pitch investors on the new college during the event. Nishi informs him that he has created a presentation for their new medical college and asks him to check. Yashwant says to let Ishaan handle the presentation because he will be leading the new medical college. Nishi claims Ishaan will be busy in reception. Yashwant says Ishaan will be responsible for everything in the future.

Nishi feels insulted but follows his directions. Savi’s senior is impressed with her work and gives her sandwiches when the shift ends. Savi adores sandwiches. Savi informs Ishaan that he should have warned his family that once her sister recovers, she will leave his home. She claims he should have notified them that their marriage has no worth, and she does not want to be a burden on them. Ishaan wonders how he could. Savi says she will, and she wants to get to the college before it closes. Ishaan attempts to stop her. A police officer approaches and, mistaking Ishaan for a roadside Romeo, attempts to strike him to teach him a lesson. Savi stops him and warns him not to touch her spouse. A police officer argues that if they are husband and wife, they should dispute at home rather than on the street. Savi stares furiously at Ishaan and walks aside.

Ishaan wonders what she gains by creating a drama. Savi begins to cry as she claims she was not involved in any drama. Ishaan asks her to stop crying. Savi claims her scholarship is very important to her; she worked hard for it and even went through Ishaan’s interview, but he is taking it away from her despite knowing this. She will tell the truth and fight for her scholarship. Ishaan says that if she announces that their marriage is invalid, board members will not recognise it because they married according to ritual, and his family will be defamed.

Savi asks, “How?” Ishaan claims that Yashwant is preparing their reception and that people will mock the Bhosales for making a mockery out of a wedding; their marriage has caused a lot of problems for his family, and he does not want to add to it. Savi asks if she should forego her scholarship. He believes he only has one solution.

Surekha reminds Durva and Anvi that Ishaan and Savi’s reception is in two days and that they must make all necessary arrangements. Duurva refuses to attend the function since she cannot tolerate Savi as her SIL. Anvi wonders if doing this for Savi will make Reeva feel horrible.

Surekha claims they are doing this to save the dignity of the Bhosale family and that it is her order rather than a request. She offers Durva something sweet. Durva says she does not consume sweets. Ishaan makes an announcement to the pupils. Nishikanth approaches him and signs to check the time. Ishaan tells pupils that it is already late and he just wanted to wish them well with their examinations. After he finishes his announcement, Nishi reminds him that it is now 11 a.m. and everyone is waiting for him at the board meeting. Ishaan runs to the boardroom and apologises to Yashwant for being late. Yashwant insults him, saying he has a lot of duties and is recently married. Board members believe they understand Ishaan’s plight because they are also married.

Yashwant asks board members if they are aware of today’s meeting agenda. Sharmaji, a board member, claims that an anonymous letter was posted in their campus magazine and that they would have been humiliated if it had been published elsewhere. Nishi reads the letter, which states that Bhosale Institute’s few deserving students receive scholarships each year to meet their basic needs, but this year the college’s funds are being misused, with institute director Ishaan’s wife Savi receiving a scholarship despite living in a lavish house and leading a lavish lifestyle.

Yaswant is enraged and claims that the allegation against them is false. Ishaan thinks Savi is a deserving student who earned a scholarship through her hard work. Yashwant asks Sharmaji what he wants to say. Sharmaji claims that because this letter was published in their campus magazine, they should refer to the rule book once. Yashwant urges Ishaan to read the rules aloud. Ishaan says that if a student becomes financially independent or marries, his or her scholarship will be cancelled.

Yashwant recalls planning with Nishi to terminate Savi’s scholarship. Sharmaji warns that if they do not obey the guidelines, they will no longer receive education board grants. According to Yashwant, the rules prevent them from revoking a meritorious candidate’s scholarship. Ishaan believes it’s a serious matter, and they must follow the regulations.

Savi takes note of Harini’s medical expenditures and believes she needs to repay around 6 lakhs to Ishaan; it’s a good thing she has a scholarship or she would have been in more financial trouble. Ishaan informs board members that they will abolish the rules themselves because they cannot revoke a deserving candidate’s scholarship simply because she is married.

Yashwant states that in order to amend any rules, they must hold a general body meeting, which cannot take place this semester. Another board member, Srikanth, believes Ishaan can cover Savi’s tuition and possibly establish a scholarship in her name. Ishaan says it’s a significant matter that they’ll handle carefully because a hardworking student’s scholarship is in danger.

Nishi advises us not to dramatise this situation. Yashwant advises Ishaan to make a well-thought-out decision because he is both Savi’s husband and a member of the board of directors, and making the wrong option will have a negative impact on the college. Srikanth says Ishaan must make a decision today.

Ishaan returns home, finds Savi’s calculations, and inquires about them. Savi says she is calculating the expenses and the money he owes him, and that it is a good thing she won a scholarship because otherwise she would have put more financial pressure on him; she will repay his loan soon and does not want to be a burden on him or his family.

Ishaan says he wants to tell her the news before she hears it from someone else. He explains the scholarship rules and announces that the college board has cancelled her scholarship and will cancel all of her privileges. Savi is astonished to hear this and wonders how the board can cancel her scholarship and why he allowed it.

Ishaan claims he did his utmost to explain to the board, but they did not listen. Savi says she worked hard to earn this scholarship. Ishaan claims that, whether she believes it or not, her financial situation has altered since marrying him. Savi claims that if the scholarship is cancelled, all of her goals would be dashed; she hoped to repay his money by finishing her education with his scholarship and finding work; he can’t just cancel it. Ishaan claims he informed her that it was the board’s decision, not his. Savi leaves her house to interrogate the board members.

Yashwant gives Surekha sweets and informs her that he has removed Savi’s scholarship. Surekha is pleased to hear that. Yashwant says Ishaan has gone to tell Savi about the news, and Savi will be shocked, among other things. Surekha feels this was the best method to teach her a lesson; she’ll see what Savi does next. Savi walks on the road, attempting to board a car. Ishaan interrupts her and asks if she will tell the board of directors that she is not married to him and how she will prove it.

Savi claims she committed to staying at his place to help him as he helped Harini, and that once Harini recovers, she will leave; he should have notified Yashwant and not cancelled her scholarship. Ishaan stands stunned. Savi insists that she will recover her scholarship at any cost.

Ishaan tells Savi that while worried about her loss of studies, he forgot about its influence on Reeva, unwittingly hurting her even more. Savi walks away to her room to pack her books. Ishaan adds that he has never seen a student close a book before class starts. He places a book on a table and asks, in a teacher’s tone, whether he would want to be her Chidkiya sir’s student, study hard, and not allow her dreams to be reliant on college. She pauses there, contemplating, before saying she is ready for his particular school.

Durva, who is with Reeva, watches them standing at the door and convinces her that Savi never misses an opportunity to impress Ishaan.

Ishaan continues to tutor Savi. Savi thinks Ishaan is tired and needs tea, so she walks out to fetch some. Ishaan discovers a coffee mug in front of him and, thinking it’s Savi, wonders if he brought coffee so quickly. Reeva claims it’s hers. He apologises for today’s events and asks her to leave and rest. She thinks he’s exhausted and should rest. He says he needs to tutor Savi. She claims she offered to tutor Savi, but she declined, and now he is becoming agitated. He claims she is misinterpreting Savi, that Savi is concerned for her and does not want to cause her any further suffering, that Savi noticed her cancelling courses, and so on.

Savi walks in with tea for Ishaan and is taken aback when she sees Reeva. Reeva adds Ishaan like coffee. Savi says she’ll remember it later and drinks tea. Ishaan sips his coffee, says he feels invigorated, and pays attention to Savi. Reeva feels embarrassed and says she’ll leave immediately. Ishaan wishes her goodnight.

The next morning, during breakfast, Yashwant asks Nishi where Ishaan is; they have a board meeting today. Surekha instructs Durva to call Ishaan. Reeva informs us that Ishaan was instructing Savi until late at night and must be asleep now; it is not appropriate to bother him. Surekha claims that Savi refused to be tutored by Reeva but agreed to be tutored by Ishaan. Reeva says, “Yes.”

Surekha takes Yashwant to a room and asks what he is waiting for; Ishaan is going insane behind Savi; arrogant Savi refused Reeva’s help and forced Ishaan to teach her; Ishaan returns from college exhausted and teaches Savi all night; he is becoming like Shantanu, and Savi is becoming like Isha and wandering around her; Yashwant should act quickly. Yashwant cautions her to stop it, saying he will not let Ishaan become Shantanu and Savi become Isha, and she should not question him again since he knows what to do with Savi.

Savi dries her hair after bathing and prays to Bappa. She notices that it is now 9 a.m. and Ishaan is still sleeping. She knocks on his study room door and taps his foot, but he does not wake up. She tickles his ear. He smiles and dreams about Reeva doing the same earlier. He opens his eyes, asking Reeva to stop it, and seeing her, he says sorry.

Savi says she woke him up because he was running late for college. He goes to get ready. Savi believes that after reception, she will attend college. Ishaan arrives at the college and addresses the pupils over the microphone. Students wonder why Ishaan is late today; it’s nearly 11 a.m. Yashwant instructs Nishi to go and stop Ishaan. Nishi enters Ishaan’s cabin and signals him to check his watch. Ishaan informs pupils that it is already late and he simply wanted to wish them well with their exams, etc.

Ishaan informs Savi that there is a room adjacent to his that has a bed, and he will sleep there. Savi asks where the room is. He draws a curtain and reveals his study space. Savi inquires whether he is a Batman who has hidden this secret room from everyone. He then quips that he is a batman who brings his enemies into this room and murders them, before admitting that he was joking and that he will sleep on a recliner. She closes the door. He asks her not to lock it because the door is open from the outside, and he says he will knock if he has to come out. She is resting on the bed. He believes he can’t see her from that position and pulls the recliner. She notices him. He acts as if he is asleep. She turns her back towards him. He relaxes.

She spots him dragging the recliner again, approaches him, and inquires whether he moved the bed forward to keep an eye on him. He pretends to snore before waking up and asking why she entered the room without knocking. She claims he purposely moved the recliner forward to keep an eye on her. He asks her to stop putting herself first and go to bed. Their nok-jhok persists.

The next morning, Durva requests that Asmita give her breakfast. Asmita offers her sabudana vada. Durva claims she will not eat oily foods. In terrible English, Asmita advises her to quit throwing trimtrims /tantrums. Durva abuses her, tosses food in the trash, asks her to cook oats and smoothies for her, and claims she can bear her terrible English but not bad food. Savi walks in and confronts Durva for misbehaving with her mother and asks her to prepare her own food instead of insulting Annapurna.

Durva exclaims that if an uncultured girl teaches her etiquette, she will misbehave with her mother, which is none of Savi’s concern. Surekha enters in support of Durva and asks Savi if an outsider and a guest can teach manners to this family’s daughter. Savi claims that while Surekha forces her guest to undertake home chores and defend the family’s honour, the same guest has the right to teach morals to a misbehaving daughter. Asmita encourages them to stop squabbling and directs Durva to her room, where she will deliver her ordered breakfast. Surekha informs Durva that her mother will bring her food as normal, and she does not need to listen to any strangers.

At college, Reeva walks towards Ishaan’s cabin and finds two students celebrating Valentine’s Day. She walks inside Ishaan’s cabin and inquires whether he called her. He agrees and gives her coffee.
