Pagglait is a Sanya Malhotra starrer film which released on 26th March 2021. After the movie released, people could tell that Seema Pahwa’s directorial debut Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi and Umesh Bisht’s Pagglait have a lot of similarities.

Things that lead to people thinking of it as a copy was that while Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi premiered in October 2019, Pagglait went on floors just after a month in November 2019 with the exact same storyline.

While the whole team of ‘Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi’ is upset over the similarities, the director Seema Pahwa is still giving the makers a benefit of doubt.

“People go through several similar experiences in life. If you take a middle-class family, there are events and people who share similarities so I feel this could be a coincidence. It definitely must be a coincidence, who would want to copy someone else’s work,” Seema explained.

She said that she doesn’t watch Netflix but she did after she recieved several calls regarding the movie. “I recently watched Pagglait. I had not seen it previously but a few people called so I had to watch the movie. When I watched it, I felt that maybe since the location was the same, the look of the middle-class family is similar, and maybe since the problems of the middle-class is the same, the movies look identical. It doesn’t make a difference if the story revolves around the problems of a young girl in Pagglait or an old lady in Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi,” she said.

Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar’s Badhaai Do will address Lavender marriage

Badhaai Ho was a major success when it was released in 2018. Ayushmann Khurrana, Sanya Malhotra, Gajraj Rao and Neena Gupta won people’s hearts with the film revolving around accidental parental pregnancy. The film took the viewers on a comedic journey from resistance to acceptance. Now the makers of the film are keen on continuing the franchise with Badhaai Do. Set for a 2021 release, Badhaai Do will be starring Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar in lead roles.

While the production is yet to begin, very little is known about the plot. Hunterr fame director Harshvardhan Kulkarni promised that the sequel will be as entertaining as the 2018 hit. Now in an exclusive report by PeepingMoon, it is revealed that Badhaai Do will revolve around Lavender marriage. “Lavender marriage is described as a marriage between a man and a woman in which one or both parties are homosexual. Also called a marriage of convenience, it’s done to hide one or both partners’ sexuality to protect public reputation. Badhaai Do taps this same relevant social issue but in the most hilarious manner just like the first part. The film is about the goof-ups that follow when a gay and a lesbian (played by Rajkummar and Bhumi respectively) get married to each other due to their family pressure,” revealed a source.

In the film, Rajkummar Rao will be playing the role of the only male cop in a Mahila Thana while Bhumi will take on the role of a PT teacher who aspires to play handball for India’s national team. While the concept is new to most of the people, the film is expected to be a progressive step towards addressing homophobia and creating awareness of Lavender marriage.

The source adds, “A Lavender marriage looks like a typical marriage but in reality, the couple lives apart and lead entirely separate lives. They are pressured to live a double life in the fear of being disowned by society. Badhaai Do fights this taboo sensitively and with gentle humour.”

Trailers and song reveals have made fans ecstatic about the romance film, Ludo, premiering on Netflix on 12th November. The teasers have hinted at an enticing chemistry between Sanya Malhotra and Aditya Roy Kapur. Fans are expecting an outstanding performance from the duo. But behind the scenes, Sanya has had problems coping with the direction methodology used for the film. Anurag Basu, the Ludo director, has given Sanya and Aditya the wheel to drive the performance. They had to practice their roles on their own and were given no script. Recently, SpotboyE quoted the team’s spokesman saying, “Sanya and Adi would come on the set and then they would be given details on their shoot so when they got a break between shots, they would use that time to rehearse because that was the only time that they got to practice for scenes. But even with the spontaneous shooting, the chemistry we see between Sanya and Aditya looks natural and sizzling.”

Sanya found the task particularly challenging but also exciting since every moment was absolutely unpredictable. Shah Rukh Khan’s production house Red Chillies Entertainment has announced its next venture, Love Hostel. The movie is written and directed by Shanker Raman, starring Sanya Malhotra, Vikrant Massey and Bobby Deol in the lead roles. Love Hostel is a crime thriller and not a romantic drama. The shooting for this film is slated to begin early next year.

Red Chillies Entertainment revealed the film’s rough plot on Twitter, which reads, “Set against the backdrop of rustic North India, Love Hostel traces the volatile journey of a spirited young couple, being hunted by a ruthless mercenary. The star-crossed lovers take on the entire world and then some more in search of their fairytale ending. This is a survival tale in the game of power, money and principles with mayhem and bloodshed.”

Making the big announcement about the movie, Red Chillies Entertainment posted a glimpse of the poster on Twitter, “We’re excited to present our next film with @DrishyamFilms, #LoveHostel – a story about a spirited young couple on the run!”

The post mentions about the setting of the film which will take place in North India. The story will be about ‘spirited’ young couple who will be hunted by a ruthless ‘mercenary’ meaning a soldier hired for a foreign army. The couple will be willing to do anything for their happy ending. They will go to an extent of taking over the entire world to get their ‘fairytale ending’. It will be a tale of survival in the game where power, money and principles will overpower along with mayhem and bloodshed.

Badhaai Ho completes its second anniversary this year. The movie was one of the biggest hits of 2018. The script, cast and performance was a huge hit as it was a family entertainment film. Bhumi Pednekar and Rajkummar Rao’s Badhaai Do is all set to go in January 2021

Rajkummar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar are all set to share screen space for a sequel titled Badhaai Do. The announcement was made on the second anniversary of Badhaai Ho.

The film titled Badhaai Do will be directed by Harshavardhan Kulkarni and it will be produced by Junglee Pictures. The second part of the franchise will have a different storyline. In Badhaai Do, Rajkummar Rao will play the role of a cop, while Bhumi Pednekar, will be seen playing the role of a PT teacher. The film was previously scheduled to kickstart in June this year, but like other upcoming projects, it faced a delay due to the coronavirus pandemic. Akshat Ghildial and Suman Adhikary are the script writers for the sequal.

Harshavardhan Kulkarni says, “Family comedies are evergreen and the idea is to create wholesome entertainment that can be enjoyed with the entire family”. Bhumi Pednekar and Rajkummar Rao shared fun photos on their social media. In the picture, the duo can be seen wishing each other as they extend greetings.

Vidya Balans starrer Shakuntala Devi‘s ‘Pass Nahi Toh Fail Nahi’ is a catchy school kids’ song

The trailer of the movie ‘Shakuntala Devi’ was out on July 15 and everyone is really looking forward to seeing the actress Vidya Balan in a new avatar. The film is a biopic of the great mathematician Shakuntala Devi, who is also known as the ‘human computer’ due to her dazzling and extraordinary skills with her numbers.

On Tuesday the makers released the first song from the movie called, ‘Pass Nahi Toh Fail Nahi’. The song was released from Zee Music Company’s YouTube channel. In the music video, it can be seen that Vidya Balan is in a classroom teaching her students about how mathematics as a subject can also be magic. The lyrics of the song revolve around the subject and how one can play with the numbers.

The music composers of the song, Sachin-Jigar have composed the song brilliantly, giving it a catchy and an ‘every school kid’s song’ touch. The song is amazingly sung by none other than Sunidhi Chauhan. Her voice perfectly blends with the mood of the song and the actress’ character in the film.
