Samsung introduced its Android 15-based One UI 7 update during the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) 2024 in October, followed by its beta release earlier this month. One of the standout features in this update is a long-awaited fix addressing an issue with Galaxy devices automatically cranking up brightness for HDR content.

The new Super HDR toggle allows users to disable automatic brightness adjustment for HDR-supported media. Android Authority’s Mishaal Rahman explains that the feature, found under Settings > Advanced features > Super HDR, provides users with more control over their display’s behavior when viewing HDR content. Its description reads:
“Automatically adjust the display to show the full range of colors and contrast in pictures taken with Galaxy devices.”

Previously, One UI 6.1.1 included a similar toggle within the Samsung Gallery app but was limited to that specific application. With One UI 7, this option applies system-wide, leveraging Google’s Ultra HDR image format across all HDR-supported media.

Currently, the feature is exclusive to the Galaxy S24 series, with the One UI 7 beta programme available in select countries, including Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the US. Users can sign up via the Samsung Members app to test the update’s features. Availability for other devices and regions will depend on Samsung’s rollout plans.

Images of what appear to be official renders of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 5, Galaxy Z Flip 5, and Galaxy Tab S9 shared by WinFuture showed the upcoming smartphones and tablets from various angles, ahead of the Galaxy Unpacked event scheduled to take place in South Korea on June 26. The images also hint at the colour options of the devices, which are similar to last year launched models.

Together with the standard Galaxy Tab S9 and Galaxy Tab S9+, the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra is expected to go on sale in the second half of this year. With only a few months until the official release, a new leak gives us an in-depth look at the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra’s design using 360-degree graphics. The future tablet’s design elements are suggested by the renders. It has a dual back camera arrangement with thick bezels. The device appears to be made of metal in the computer-aided design (CAD) renderings.

In association with MySmartPrice, tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer (@onleaks) provides us with a glance at what is allegedly the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra’s design.

A small tablet with a notch for the selfie camera is suggested by the 360-degree 5K renders. It appears to feature larger bezels and a metallic finish.

The Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra may sport a dual camera system with a flash on the back, according to the leaked renders. Additionally, a USB Type-C port and speaker grille are located at the bottom. While the pogo pin connector is located on the left edge, the power and volume keys are positioned along the right edge.

The Galaxy Tab S9 series is expected by Samsung to be released in the second half of 2023.

The Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra models are rumoured to be included in the range, which would replace the Galaxy Tab S8 series from last year.

According to earlier rumours, the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra will use Android 13 and One UI 5.1. The tablet is anticipated to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Additionally, an IP68 dust and water resistant rating is expected.

A 14.6-inch (1,848 x 2,960-pixel) display with 120 percent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage is anticipated for the Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. It is believed to have an 11,200mAh battery that supports 45W rapid charging and up to 16GB of RAM. It might be 208.6 x 326.4 x 5.5mm and weigh 737 grams.

Pre-bookings for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, Z Flip 3 begins ahead of launch

Samsung would be hosting its second-biggest event of the year, Galaxy Unpacked event on August 11 at 7:30 PM IST.

Samsung would launch Galaxy Z Fold 3 at the event and the Galaxy Z Fold 2 smartphone and the Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphone, which would be the successor of the Galaxy Z Flip 5G smartphone. Before the Galaxy event, the pre-booking for the two foldable display smartphones had gone live on the Samsung e-shop in India.

The next generation Galaxy smartphone could be booked by the buyers from the Pre-Reserve button to add a pre-reserve VIP pass in the carts on Samsung India e-shop by paying Rs 2,000, post the payment confirmation, the customers would receive a confirmation of the purchase on the registered mobile number of the user and their e-mail Id’s. The Korean tech giant would adjust the payment of Rs 2,000 while making the final payment for either of the two smartphones.

With the pre-registration of the Galaxy smartphone, a free Galaxy SmartTag worth Rs 2,699 would be included.

Samsung Galaxy A72 to have a five camera setup, Samsung’s first ever

Samsung Galaxy A72 will be the company’s first-ever smartphone with a five camera setup and it’ll be released in the first half of 2021. This penta-camera setup will be debuted on Galaxy A72 instead of the Samsung flagship phone.

South Korean publication, The Elec, reports that the setup will feature a 64-megapixel primary shooter, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera, an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with optical 3x zoom, a 5-megapixel macro camera, and a 5-megapixel depth sensor. It’ll have a 32-megapixel selfie camera in front. Along with the Galaxy A72, Galaxy A52 will also be launched which will feature quad rear cameras.

Samsung Galaxy M31s set to launch in India, 64 MP camera, 6000mAh battery and more

The new Samsung Galaxy M31s is all set to enter the Indian tech market on July 30 at 12 Noon, as confirmed by an official poster on Amazon.

The Samsung Galaxy M31s is a new addition to the Samsung Galaxy M31 family that was launched in India in February 2020.

The poster reveals several specifications that say, the Galaxy M31s will be possessing a 6000mAh battery which will support 25W fast charging.

The cell phone will have an AMOLED display with full-HD+ resolution. The Galaxy M31s will carry Exynos 9611 SoC and will have a rear quad camera setup with 64 Megapixel main camera.

The camera will be supporting Samsung’s Single Take feature that will allow users to capture multiple photos and videos with just one take.

From the official poster, it is also evident that the front panel of the Galaxy M31s has a hole-punch cutout at the centre unlike the water-drop notch on the vanilla Galaxy M31. Also, the poster shows the phone in White-Blue gradient colour.

The pricing and availability details of the Galaxy M31s are not yet disclosed. However, a report has claimed that the Galaxy M31s would go on sale in India, starting on August 6.
