Rohit Roy talks about his new show, Sanak - Ek Junoon.

Rohit Roy is out with his new web series, Sanak – Ek Junoon. In the show, the actor plays a junior lawyer who is at a very tricky crossroads when his supervisor gives him a profitable do-or-die opportunity. In real life, as well, Rohit says there are times that test the personality of an individual however one always has a choice.

Rohit doesn’t show emotion when he says that he hasn’t compromised on his principles for the sake of success. He says, “You always have a choice, even if its a life-death situation. I have also faced several such crossroads in my life, sometimes subtly, sometimes directly. It’s been 25 years and I would never ever make a compromise with my principles, value,s or my core system. If it has taken a lot more time to reach where I am, then I am fine with it. I can sit here and look into your eyes and say this with confidence because I haven’t made any compromise.”

Discussing the compromise his character Ajay makes to achieve success, Rohit says, “It’s a personal call. Rohit would not have made that call but Ajay makes that call because success for him was much more important. For me, success is sitting here and talking to you and you appreciating my work.”

Nonetheless, Rohit feels one shouldn’t pass judgment on the people who are forced to give in. “But lot of people are forced to make compromises, we should be empathetic to them as well. We don’t know under what circumstances… Sometimes that choice becomes very difficult and you do take the easy way out.”

Rohit says compromise is a common practice in the profession however one needs to draw a boundary. “I can’t make a film for someone just because his father is putting in money. What will people say, ‘He made Rice Plate, what is this he has made?’ That compromise I will not make,” he says.

Rohit Roy opens up and said: “In the last 20 years if my kitchen kept running, it was because of my work on television”

Rohit Roy, who was most recently seen playing the part of enemy Vardhan in Sanjivani 2 (2019) concedes that he is glad to have been doing both TV and movies together. In any case, he likewise admits that TV has given him a ton.

He said, “In the last 20 years, if my kitchen kept running, it was because of my work on television and I owe the medium a lot. Vardhan was a powerful role in Sanjivani and I enjoyed playing it. Unfortunately, the show wrapped up, otherwise, my character had good scope.”

Having begun his acting profession with a show Swabhimaan on TV, Rohit reviews, how achievement had gone to his head after he got well known as a result of it. He said, “Many years ago, I had asked Anurag Basu why he wasn’t casting me in his films, and he had joked, ‘People watch you for free on television, why would they pay money to watch you in a film in theatres?’ That was quite a shocker, but I understood his viewpoint. But, now, lines are blurring, and you can bag great projects in both the mediums and web shows are an added blessing.”

Rohit also added, “Secondly, I would not blame anyone for my films not doing well at the box office or not bagging interesting projects, because after I did Swabhimaan (TV show), success had gone to my head. I have only started working hard in the last decade. When I did Swabhimaan, I was spoken about as the next big star, I felt I would be the next Shah Rukh Khan.

“So, if my career took a backseat for a few years, it is because of my assumptions and allowing success to go to my head. I was a very bad actor and never took work seriously. If I had put in the kind of effort other successful actors put in many years ago, I would have been somewhere else. I am happy that I am now getting to do interesting work”, Rohit added.

Bollywood actor, Ronit Roy in a recent interview went on to describe how Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar didn't hold their payments for security service during the lockdown.

The lockdown gave serious financial crunches even to the celebrities. Recently TV and Film actor, Ronit Roy in an interview with Siddharth Kannan described his experiences of the lockdown. Not many know that Ronit Roy is also a businessman apart from an actor. He runs a security agency that provides security services to some of the biggies of Bollywood like Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar. He explained about some of his clients didn’t pay up their dues which caused trouble for paying him to his employees. But in the interview, he thanked Big B, Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar for paying bills in advance without even asking for the bill.

Ronit’s words were, “So, Mr Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Karan Johar. They never even called me. Actually, I was in doubt that all of this is shut, all the boys are at home. Their office called me that we have done the transfer, but send us the bills when things open again. I didn’t ask them to do it, but they did it.”

Ronit went on to describe the situation of his employees saying, “My wife and I had a conversation… that time we did not know how long it will go on…I asked her what do we do? We decided that because I had 100-something employees on my payroll–someone’s mother was ill, someone’s father was ailing, someone’s wife was pregnant, someone had a baby a month ago and another person had to pay EMIs of their house– that we will cross that bridge when we get to it. We need to sustain these people,”

Arvind Joshi was a theatre actor and is survived by his wife and two children Sharman and Mansi.

Gujarati theatre actor and director Arvind Joshi, actor Sharman Joshi’s father breathed his last breath in January 29, in the morning at Nanavati Hospital in Bombay, Komal Nahta’s Film Information reported.

Arvind Joshi was known more for his work on Gujarati-stage than in films. He has also acted in Bollywood films such as Sholay and Ittefaq, and Apmaan ki Aag. The actor is survived by his wife and two children Sharman and Mansi. Mansi is married to actor Rohit Roy. He was the brother-in-law of actress Sarita Joshi and uncle of actress Ketki Dave.

On the other hand, Sharman has worked in Bollywood for over two decades but he still feels like an outsider and feels sorry for himself for not being connected to the star ‘parivaars’ of Bollywood. He is married to Prem Chopra’s daughter Prerna.

In an interview with IANS, Sharman told, “I still feel like an outsider. I understand that there is certain monogamy of certain generations of families that have been in business, and tomorrow my children would enjoy the fruit of my presence in the Hindi cinema. I have established relationships with people, and they will get the advantage. It is about the time spent in the business and familiarity.
Rohit Roy opens up about the darker side of his career. His pride and arrogance ultimately led him to his downfall.

Rohit Roy has had a lucrative career for 30 years with memorable roles such as Rishabh Malhotra in Swabhimaan. Today, Rohit opened up about the darker side of his career. As Rohit began his career as an actor for soaps and drama, the comparison his mentors, family, and friends credited him with to Bollywood’s legendary Shah Rukh Khan evoked pride within him, which ultimately let his downfall. The overnight night success for the soap TV series Swabhimaan only added fuel to the fire. “I had become immensely famous in a very short span because of my daily soap Swabhimaan. My character of Rishabh Malhotra was as popular as Sholay’s Gabbar Singh as such a character had never been seen on Indian television before. But all that stardom got to my head and instead of working on improving my acting and other skills, I only became more arrogant,” he shared in an interview, Mumbai Mirror reported. “I had come from a city like Ahmedabad and I went berserk after experiencing all that name, fame and stardom in Mumbai. And I do not blame anyone for it. It was all my fault… People even told me that I have the potential to overthrow Shah Rukh Khan. At that time, SRK’s Deewana had recently hit the theatres. Anyway, today we all know where SRK has reached in his career and life, and here I am, still struggling.”

Rohit was not able to handle to the significance and importance the role had, in terms of image, and it’s a comparison with Gabbar Sigh from the Bollywood classic, Sholay as well. Comparisons to legends of Bollywood locked Rohit’s potential, with all of his focus darted at the fame and fortune that supposedly came with being a celebrity. Looking back, Rohit regrets his perspectives of fame and strongly advises those new to the industry to be focused on the skill and craft in acting. On the bright side, he is also thankful for his roles. Though he has not reached where he could have, he seems happy about his career and being remembered for those roles.

TV soaps were not the only limelights in his career. He also worked on prominent films like Shootout at Lokhandwala, Kaabil, Paltan and Fashion. His latest project was the Mumbai Saga, starring John Abraham, along with Prateik Babbar, Mahesh Manjrekar, Kajal Aggarwal, Suneil Shetty, Emraan Hashi, Amole Gupte, Samir Soni, Glushan Grover.

The deadly Coronavirus has created havoc all around the globe. Every individual living on earth is in fear of this...

The deadly Coronavirus has created havoc all around the globe. Every individual living on earth is in fear of this lethal virus and hence, is trying to maintain utmost safety.

Amid this, TV actor Rohit Roy posted a message on social media to lighten up the environment. He actively posted a hilarious joke on Bollywood star Rajinikanth.

His joke read, “Rajinikanth tested positive for Coronavirus and now the virus has been quarantined”.

However, this joke didn’t turn out to be funny for netizens. Instead, it backfired Rohit in a poor way as netizens felt that it was a wrong way to lighten the environment in such a sensitive time. Many others called him insensitive and stated that it is a very bad joke.

Actor took his Instagram and wrote, “Let’s beat the shit outa the corona!! Be safe when u get back to work! Wear your masks n keep washing n sanitizing several times a day, as much as possible… The virus can’t affect us u.”

To this, a netizen slammed him by replying, “What we are doing…Our taste, sensitivity, esthetics are just gone. All these types of jokes are simply in a very very bad taste. This should not be the culture of India. Feeling sad.”
