Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’s popularity on Netflix is something Richa Chadha is delighted about. She recently discussed the elaborate sets and strictness of director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s projects. According to Richa Chadha, Bhansali’s sets are loud, with an average of 100–150 workers. When Bhansali shows up, everything is quiet.

Richa Chadha told Instant Bollywood, “His sets always have a lot of people because they are grand. So, they have a lot of setting people, a lot of people from the art director’s team who look after the candles, the curtains. Then there are people from the costume team looking after jewellery and other things, and the lighting team. So, there are a lot of people. On an average there are 100- 150 people on his set, which is nothing, and if there are extras, then there will be even more people. There can be 100, 200, or 300 extras.”

The actor also appreciated how the filmmaker wants the best from his crew and his actors. She said, “What I like about his set is that there is a lot of chaos but when he comes, there is a silent feeling like somebody is here and everybody gets to working. And he has a very high standard, so what I love about him is that he has such a high standard for himself that he will re-shoot something if he doesn’t like it. He doesn’t settle for sure.”

The actress complimented the director for having high standards for everyone’s work. She mentioned how much she enjoyed the chaos of his sets. “What I like about his set is that there’s a lot of chaos, but when he walks onstage, there’s a quiet sense that someone is there, and everyone starts working,” she remarked. He also has really high standards for himself, which is something I adore about him. If he doesn’t like something, he will reshoot it. He never settles for “certain.”

While the Israeli military stated that its air force hit a Hamas compound in Rafah with “precise ammunition and based on precise intelligence,” Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu acknowledged that a “tragic mistake” had occurred.

According to the Gaza Health Ministry, which does not distinguish between fighters and noncombatants in its calculations, Sunday night’s attack brings the overall number of Palestinian deaths in the conflict to more than 36,000.

The show, which is billed as an epic narrative of love, power, retribution, and independence, follows the stories of courtesans and their clients as they explore the cultural realities of ‘Heeramandi,’ a glittering area, against the turbulent backdrop of the 1940s Indian freedom fight.

In “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar”, Bhansali had created a dream-like world, said Sinha.

“We didn’t want to come out of his world, it was dreamy, stunning, and it was that captivating. For us as actors, it was an experience which we never had before. The takeaway from working with him was that no matter how good you think you are he will always get something better out of you,” she added.

Starring in “Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar” is Aditi Rao Hydari, who skipped the celebration after marrying actor Siddharth, her longtime partner.

Bhansali is the creator, director, and producer of the series, which is based on a concept by Moin Beg.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 14-year passion project in conjunction with Netflix is about to be unveiled globally to audiences, hailed as the year’s grandest and most anticipated series.

Heeramandi promises to be a thrilling tale of love, power, revenge, and freedom. The series promises to be a profound celebration of art, culture, and beauty, which are all things Bhansali is known for.

“Fukrey became a franchise on its own. We did not have to do something out of the way apart from creating a film that was fun and it’s characters resonated with people. The Fukrey universe is extremely popular today among the people and that’s why there’s a lot of expectation as well,” she tells us.

Chadha shares how it’s always so much fun for her to work on Fukrey films as it helps her go back to her roots. “I enjoy playing this character of Bholi Punjaban in the film because I can happily depend to my North Indian existence, which I’m very removed from now. I’ve been living in Bombay for several years. That’s why, when we shoot for this film, I love being in my Delhi atmosphere, reliving my college days when I used hang out in the campus. I really enjoy that whole vibe. And for me, just to hang out with a group of boys is a lot of fun,” shares Chadha.

What makes the Fukrey films all the more special is the fact that Chadha is able to bring a smile to the face of people. “It’s a lighthearted movie. Richa Chadha has been recently making headlines as being the upcoming bride of Bollywood, by tying the marriage knot very soon with Ali Fazal in a grandeur celebration. As all know, recent films like Laal Singh Chaddha, Darlings, Raksha Bandhan, and Brahmastra had to go through the brunt of negativity on social media, addressing these boycott trends, she added “I believe some boycott type calls were made once again to dislodge people from their employment in the industry, I also believe the film has raked in plenty profits! Bollywood has been witnessing the season of marriages since a few months. After Katrina-Vicky, Alia-Ranbir now Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal are heading to tie the marriage knot in the first week of October. Although the news of the marriage has been hatched and confirmed one day ago now in addition to it some details regarding the venue have also been introduced to the paparazzi.

One of the places where Richa and Ali’s pre-wedding celebrations will be taking place is an exclusive and one of India’s oldest clubs, the Delhi Gymkhana Club, (110 years old). Established in 1913, the club is one of the country’s most exclusive venues in the National Capital upholding remarkable historical significance. The club is said to have a wait list of almost 37 years for a membership.

The summary of the club reads, “It was then called the “Imperial Delhi Gymkhana Club” and Mr. Spencer Harcourt Butler was its first President. When India gained Independence in 1947, the word “Imperial” was dropped and it was simply known as “Delhi Gymkhana Club” Gymkhana club or the Imperial Delhi Gymkhana club had it humble origins in July 1913. In the initial years, the Polo Club was seen as a part of Gymkhana Club until it was achieved off as a separate entity in the 1930s when the Polo Club moved to New Delhi.”

The actors were first met on the sets of Fukrey and hit it off instantly. They have been in a relationship for a long time now and the couple is ready to take the big decision of their life.

As the wedding is going to be a grandeur one, the pre-wedding ceremony will be beginning from 30th of September in Delhi and the marriage ceremony will take place in a plush Mumbai hotel followed by two grand receptions. Their first wedding reception will take place in Delhi on October 2 and their second reception will be held in Mumbai on October 7, 2022.

Earlier, in an interview with a news website, Richa had confirmed that her wedding with Ali will take place this year. “I think shaadi ho jaegi iss saal. Kar lenge kisi tarah se (We will get married this year, will marry somehow). We’re very excited about getting married but we are just worried about COVID and want to be responsible,” she had said.

Richa Chadha is currently working on Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming web series Heeramandi which will stream on Netflix. Ali, is currently working on the third season of Amazon Prime Video’s series Mirzapur in Mumbai and Lucknow and will soon wrap up his part of the shoot. He will also be seen in Vishal Bharadwaj’s directorial Khufiya, a spy thriller alongside Tabu. Richa and Ali will be seen together in Fukrey 3 alongside Pulkit Samrat and Varun Sharma. Actress Richa Chadha will be starring in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s upcoming project, ‘The Six Suspects’. The actress revealed that she wanted to work with director Tigmanshu Dhulia ‘since forever’.

According to IANS, Richa stated, “I have wanted to work with Tigmanshu Dhulia since forever. And this opportunity to work with him is really an opportunity that I wouldn’t have missed. The book from which the show is adapted is so amazing and even the cast is so wonderful.”

She added, “It’s been great to be working on the show, the shoot is on and I’m playing an investigative officer, my character has so many layers which makes it a very rewarding experience for me to be playing this part.” Richa will be seen in the role of an investigative officer in the web series.

According to a source of TOI, “Richa resumed shooting for ‘The Six Suspects’ only last week. The show has to be wrapped up by mid-August. The moment they got the necessary permissions to shoot with the new guidelines, they resumed as the shoot was held due to the second wave in April. Adding to this Candy is up for release at the end of August or early September. And hence now she’s been asked to come daily to dub. So she finishes shooting every day and then spends 2-3 hours dubbing on a daily.”

It is a murder mystery, adapted from Vikas Swarup’s 2008 novel, The Six Suspects. The series also stars ‘Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story’ fame Pratik Gandhi. The series will be streaming on Disney+Hotstar.

Actor Ali Fazal opened up about a ‘grand proposal’ he had planned for his long-time girlfriend, Richa Chadha. He also revealed how he had to cancel all that and did something cute and romantic, instead.

In conversation with Cosmopolitan India, the actor said, “I did plan something grand for her. I remember we got three days off, and we had gone to the Maldives and the plan was to come back and ask her to marry me. It was some crazy helicopter thing, with things flying in the air, and probably a hundred people would have seen. So I was a little nervous.”

Further, he said, “But while we were in the Maldives, I had planned a surprise dinner for her birthday…it was on an island, and we were in the middle of the ocean, so it was very romantic. And I was just sitting there and admiring the beautiful sky and I decided to propose in the moment—it was as clichéd as it could get. It is weird because that’s the kind of thing I used to mock my friends for. I’d tell them that this only happens in movies. But then I was like, ‘Screw it!’ and I just went ahead with something simple. I thought it was kind of cute.”

Ali Fazal and actress Richa Chadha were about to get married in 2020 but had to postpone it due to the pandemic and lockdown. Talking about his wedding, Ali said that he intends to have an intimate ceremony with close friends and family. He also added that they will host a reception party in Mumbai.

Assaulting a policeman is indefensible, whatever the argument may have been. Whenever the men and women in khaki are accused of excesses, it is right to ask for accountability. Similarly, when they are simply doing their job, they cannot be treated in this manner.

The video of a woman beating the traffic police constable has gone viral on social media, and the traffic police immediately issued a release stating that the woman is lying as the police constable did not abuse her.

The video is about a traffic cop who was assaulted by a violent woman on 26th October, Friday. The woman was seen catching the cop by his collar, stating that he abused her over an argument of not wearing a helmet and slapping him in public, after he stopped the bike on which she was travelling at Kalbadevi. The biker was not wearing a helmet and the constable, Eknath Parte, fined him.

According to the police traffic constable Eknath Parte, attached to the Kalbadevi traffic division, was on duty at Surti Hotel junction at Kalbadevi. Woman identified as Sangrika Tiwari, and biker, Mohsin Shaikh, have been arrested.

The LT Marg police on late Saturday afternoon arrested Sangrika Tiwari and Mohsin Khan from Bhendi Bazaar. Police have booked them under the IPC sections of 353, 332, 504 and 506 of preventing a government servant from discharging his duties, voluntary causing hurt, intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace and criminal intimidation.

Actor Richa Chadha who had taken a legal action against Payal Ghosh over disparaging statements made against her had demanded a public apology. Now on Thursday, Richa shared a copy of the court order to falsify claims made by Payal, who said she would not apologise to Richa for allegedly making derogatory statements against her.

Taking to Instagram, the actress shared the copy and wrote: “WE WON! Satyamev Jayate! Grateful to the Hon. Bombay High Court for justice ! The order is now in public record, freely available for all on the High Court website. Thank you for your support, next hearing (for settlement) is on the 12th as is mentioned in the order.” On the second sheet of the court order, underlined in red were the words – ‘withdrawing her statements’ and ‘an unconditional apology’.

Earlier, the Bengali actor Payal Ghosh had revealed on Twitter that she would not apologize to anyone for anything she said. She wrote, “I am not apologizing to anyone. I have not wronged nor have I given a wrong statement about anyone. I just said what @anuragkashyap72 told me. #SorryNotSorry.” A few days back, the actor had made her way to the headlines as in an interview to a news channel she had accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct. She had dragged names of three female actors – Richa, Huma Qureshi and Mahie Gill, in the same context.

Taking the matter further, Richa claimed that Payal had wrongly involved her into the case and pulled the latter to court on the same. She had released her lawyer’s statement which said: “Our Client Ms. Richa Chadha, condemns the act of her name being unnecessarily and falsely dragged in a derogatory manner into controversies and allegations being recently raised by third parties. Though our Client believes that genuinely wronged women should get justice at all costs, there are legislations that are intended to ensure that women have an equal standing in their workplace and to ensure that they have a cordial workplace in which their dignity and self-respect is protected.”

On Wednesday, during the hearing of Richa Chadha’s defamation case against Payal Ghosh and others at the Bombay High Court, Payal’s lawyer told Justice A. K Menon that Ms. Ghosh is ready to apologise to Richa and will with her statement against her to settle the case, as reported by Times of India.

Payal had previously tweeted, “I have nothing to do with Ms. Chadda. We as women have got to stand with each other, shoulder to shoulder. I don’t want any unintentional harassment to her or me on this matter. My fight for justice is against only Mr. Kashyap & I want to focus solely on that right now. On Wednesday, the Bombay High Court heard the defamation suit by actor Richa Chadha against Payal Ghosh and others in connection with the alleged sexual assault allegations against Anurag Kashyap, as reported by Bar and Bench. Payal is ready to apologise to Richa. She is also ready to withdraw her statement, according to Payal’s lawyer Nitin Satpute.

Following the events of accusations of sexual assault filed by the actress, Payal Ghosh against the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, Bollywood actress Richa Chadha filed a case of defamation against Payal for allegedly claiming that Richa has been physical with Kashyap in order to get work from him. A few weeks back, Bengali actress Payal Ghosh had made her way to the headlines as she accused filmmaker Anurag Kashyap of sexual misconduct. The actress had stated that the filmmaker allegedly forced himself on her, and in one of her interviews she had also dragged the names of other actors like Richa Chadha, Huma Qureshi and Mahie Gill. Now in the fresh, according to the reports of Mumbai Mirror, Richa Chadha has filed a lawsuit in the Bombay High Court against Payal Ghosh, Kamaal R Khan (KRK), and a news channel for their alleged defamatory statements against her.

As per the report in Mumbai Mirror, Richa Chadha has filed the defamation suit seeking Rs. 1.1 Crore in damages from them, and has also sought an order from the court for restraining those mentioned above, as well as unknown others from making any more defamatory statements. Not only this, but the actress has also sought withdrawal of the defamatory videos and tweets, with a public apology on Twitter and their websites. The hearing took place before Justice AK Menon in the Bombay High Court, but it was adjourned till 7th October, after the advocates for the accused did not appear before the Court.

The report mentions that the alleged defaming comments were first made by Payal Ghosh in an interview on 19th September. It is also alleged that Kamaal R Khan posted the video on his social media account and added vilifying tweets to it.

Meanwhile, Payal Ghosh had filed an FIR against Anurag Kashyap, after which the filmmaker was summoned by the Mumbai Police. He was quizzed by the Versova Police Station for almost 8 hours.

After Payal Ghosh slammed #MeToo allegations against filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, claiming he sexually harassed her, actors like Taapsee Pannu, Nimrat Kaur and others have come out in the support of the filmmaker. Actress Richa Chadha and Huma Qureshi have criticised Payal for dragging their names in the #MeToo allegations.

According to Pinkvilla, in an interview Payal talked about the incident and shared that Anurag allegedly took her to a room and opened his zip and tried to force himself on her by opening her salwar kameez. The actress also claimed that Kashyap said that it is okay because other actresses he has worked with including Huma Qureshi, Richa Chadha, Mahi Gil, are just a call away.

Responding to this controversy, Richa Chadha took to social media to dismiss Payal’s claims against Kashyap. Richa strongly kept forward her opinion stating that she would have taken Anurag to court if he had misbehaved with her.

While the actress was being trolled for ignoring the truth and supporting Anurag just because he was powerful, she responded to a comment on her Instagram post, as she wrote, “Anurag ne bakwas ki hoti to use legal notice ki jagah court le jati. Apni ideology apne paas rakho mai darne walon mein se nahi hoon. Ladki ne badnam karne ki koshish ki hai…. We will take legal recourse and see this to logical conclusion. Ali Fazal supports Richa Chadha on Payal Ghosh’s claims, says ‘people like you make world a better place’

Ali Fazal has come out strong for his girlfriend Richa Chadha after her name was dragged in Payal Ghosh’s allegations of sexual abuse against Anurag Kashyap. Ali opened up on the same by resposting the official statement on Instagram, shared by Richa’s lawyer on Monday and said that Richa has always promoted justice for women.

Payal had claimed that Anurag had sexually harassed her in the year 2014-15, on the counterpart this allegation was termed “baseless” by the filmmaker. Payal also alleged that Anurag said that there were other actresses who he got intimate with, mentioning Richa Chadha’s name. To which now Richa’s lawyer has issued a statement on Monday, saying that the actor has commenced ‘appropriate legal action’ against Payal for falsely bringing her name into the controversy.

Ali reposted the statement on Instagram and wrote a long note about Richa expressing how she has always stood up for the good in society. The note read, “My love, you, who has stood up for women time and time again, today had to go through this ordeal. And yet, you come out strong as ever. My partner , your resilience, your kindness, and empathy have touched many people, and i have had the fortune of being witness to that over the time ive known you . The battles you’ve fought to create an equal society which isnt fractured by hate . And within that to be able to champion women all along … and keep your art at par with the best, takes courage and nerves of steel. I am so proud of you because i know you wont stop standing up for those in need, specially women who’ve lost their voices within the many patriarchal set ups we face today the world over.”

“I believe every voice must be heard. I believe in dissent. But I also believe in the power of truth and justice. They indeed prevail. I believe in using our right to speak up but with utmost responsibility. I believe that we as a society need to empower our women so that their fearless voices echo in all its glory and yet with care and gentleness,” he added.

He further concluded the note by stating, “I say this today, not because you’re my partner but because people like you make the world a better place and we need you. . Love you . With you. Always,” he wrote. Replying to his post, Richa wrote, “Grateful for you! Today and always.” Choreographer Lauren Gottileb also commented, “Richas’s name being taken like that was terrible. But THIS, what you have spoken about her in support this is a relationship we can all look up to! God bless you both.”

Bollywood’s lovely couple Richa Chadha and Ali Fazal were planning to get married this year, but unfortunately, it looks like the couple will have to wait a little more to tie the knot. Speaking to ETimes, Richa shared, “Yes, it is unlikely that we will get married this year, because the pandemic is far from over. We would not like to endanger anyone due to our celebration. It is only wise to wait for the vaccine.”

She added, “This was inevitable. There’s nothing we could do to control this, so we took a sensible decision. In the second week of March itself, we had decided that we won’t get married in these conditions. People travelling would face a health risk and safety is most important right now.”

Preparations for the couple’s wedding were in full swing, and Richa says it is a bit disheartening that they will have to postpone it. “The idea is to celebrate our special day with people close to us – our friends and family. Once things settle down and when the time is right, hopefully, we will come back and the new world will celebrate with us. I don’t know what kind of wedding celebration it will be now, given the new norms, but let’s see.”

Richa and Ali were all set to marry in April this year, but the COVID-19 outbreak and the lockdown made them cancel their plan. Fazal had then announced, “It has been delayed until further notice. I think we will celebrate with the world when everything is open again. We have something to celebrate… some good news hopefully, that everyone will get and we’ll make sure to bring that along with our wedding. On Wednesday, actor Ali Fazal’s mother passed away in Lucknow due to health complications. Expressing his grief and pain on the sudden demise, Ali Fazal penned down a heartfelt goodbye for his mother on Twitter.

The actor on his mother’s demise shared on Twitter,” I’ll live the rest of yours for you. Miss you Amma. Yahi tak thhaa humaara, pata nahi kyun. You were the source of my creativity. My everything. Aagey alfaaz nahi rahe. Love, Ali,” along with a picture of his mother.

Ali had also posted an Instagram story for his mother where he wrote,” Phir kabhi Pammo. Wahaan jahaan wahaan na jaana ho.” On this note, actress Richa was also spotted sharing a picture of deity Kali with a caption saying,” Om Shanti.”

The actor’s lady love Richa Chadha condoled her unfortunate demise and wrote- “hang in there.. Rest In Peace Auntie.” (sic) The post also had a heart. Have a look right here:

Chadha and Fazal were supposed to tie the knot this year in April but due to the lockdown that happened after the outbreak of the Coronavirus pandemic, the wedding was postponed.
