On Thursday, the Bombay High Court cancelled the lookout circulars (LOC) issued against Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakroborty, retired army officer Indrajit Chakraborty and her mother Sandhay. The lookout circulation was issued against the family about Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case. The lookout notice was issued by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against Rhea Chakraborty in the year 2020.

The two bench judges comprising Justice Revati Mohite Dere and Justice Manjusha Deshpande passed a verdict on Thursday, quashing the LOCs. The appeal was filed by the petitioners and the judgement was given in favour of them, which challenged the restriction imposed by LOCs.

An LOC means when the person is not permitted to travel outside of the country without permission from the court.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his apartment in Bandra on the 14th of February, 2020. A complaint was filed by Sushant’s father in the Bihar police station wherein he accused Rhea, Rajput’s then-girlfriend and her family members of abetting Sushant to commit suicide.

The actress was arrested in September 2020 concerning the drug case filed by the CBI. However, she was released on bail in October 2020. She was granted bail as the Centre even did not challenge the case further. The actress was also seeking permission from the court to travel outside of the country.

Rhea Chakraborty has challenged the LOCs imposed by the CBI before the high court. She claimed that this prevents her from fulfilling work commitments. Rhea stated that she is cooperating with the officials in the investigation.

The Judges initially questioned the CBI’s intention behind imposing LOCs merely based on FIR. The issue that the complaint was originally lodged in Patna and was taken over by CBI in Delhi was also deliberate. Rhea’s advocates argued that as both the parties are from the same location, Mumbai’s jurisdiction should be considered as valid.

The court also emphasized the matter stating that a chargesheet had also not been filed by the CBI, since 2020. They urged on the importance of conducting legal proceedings accurately. It will also be remarked that LOCs should only be imposed upon an accused if there is a piece of vital evidence that he/she has been evading public arrests and legal proceedings.

After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty was investigated. She was said to be a part of an ‘active drug syndicate’ and got arrested by NCB on 8th September. But the AIIMS report on the death of the actor brought a new twist to the investigation as he was declared to have committed suicide. The actor was released on bail on 7th October, with certain clauses. TOI had a telephonic conversation with the actors’ mother Sandhya, who was quoted saying “There is a God,” as she reached the peak of her emotions.

“Rhea’s father was on the verge of collapse yesterday,” said the mother. “What she has gone through… how will she heal from this? But she is a fighter and she must be strong,” she added. The mother said that the actor has been through a lot. She has been “lynched” by the country and so needs time to recover.“I will have to put her on therapy to help her get over this trauma and reclaim her life. While it’s a relief she’s out of prison, it’s crazy it’s still not over. My son is still behind bars and I’m paranoid about what tomorrow will bring,” she said, thinking about the long legal battle the family has to go through.

The report further quoted the mother being tensed for her husband, the actor’s father. She said “The last time my husband stepped out to meet the ED, he was hounded on his way back. And he’s not the kind to fight back. We panic every time the doorbell rings. We don’t know who it might be. There have been instances of reporters posing as CBI or as a resident of the building to come into our premises. We’ve installed CCTVs outside our door to secure ourselves.”

Even after the whole ordeal, she still maintains the innocence of her children. She further said, “We’re proud of our daughter. She’s maintained her poise and dignity even as she was pushed around, called names, and landed with scratches on her face on way to the ED office. Yet, even after she came home today, she looked at us and said: ‘Why do you look sad, we have to be strong and fight this. But who are we fighting? Someone had to be arrested to satisfy the public, and Rhea paid the price. For loving and taking care of someone who she lost and then dragged through town for it.

Sandhya broke down several times during the conversation. During the past two months, she was battling her own dark thoughts. “I can’t sleep on the bed anymore when my children are suffering in jail. I can’t eat. I wake up in the middle of the night, gripped by a fear of the next thing that could go wrong. My family’s not just been pushed to a corner, it’s been destroyed. At one point I thought the only way to end it was by ending my life. I’m not this kind of person, you know. I’ve sought therapy for myself. Now when these feelings appear, I keep reminding myself I need to be there for my children. They’re going through far worse,” said the mother.

Rhea Chakraborty’s mother, Sandhya, 55, is a former schoolteacher. Her husband and the actor’s father Indrajit Chakraborty, 55, was a surgeon for the armed forces for 24 years before he joined a hospital in Mumbai as administrative head.

Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on 8th September by the Narcotics Control Bureau on charges of organizing drugs for late actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Her bail hearing, which was deferred by weeks, took a different turn as the AIIMS report termed the actor’s death as a suicide. She was granted bail with certain clauses a month later, on 7th October. Her brother Showik’s plea was rejected. Reacting to the news of her bail. actor Tapsee Pannu shared her opinion on Twitter.

The ‘Thappad’ actor wrote, “Hope her time in jail has sufficed the egos of a lot of people out there who in the name of justice for Sushant fulfilled their personal/professional agendas. Praying she doesn’t become bitter towards the life she has ahead of her. Life is Unfair but At least it’s not over as yet.”

She had previously reacted to the news of Bombay High Court verdict which said Rhea is not part of any chain of drug dealers. Delhi HC approves Rakul Preet Singh’s plea to not publish news on her in drug case

Delhi High Court on Tuesday responded to actress Rakul Preet Singh‘s urgent plea which she had filed earlier. According to the reports of Bar And Bench, Rakul had sought the help of Delhi High Court in direction to ensure that media does not broadcast, publish or print any news items on her in relation to the drug angle linked to Rhea Chakraborty.

At the moment, the Narcotics Control Bureau has been actively investigating the drug angle that was unearthed during the probe in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case which in turn also brought out several big names of Bollywood actors like Rakul Preet Singh, Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan and Shraddha Kapoor, bringing most of the film industry under the scanners of NCB. Delhi HC on Tuesday issued a notice to the Centre and others based on Rakul’s plea.

After Sushant’s family lawyer expresses distrust, CBI affirms, all death aspects of late actor ‘are being looked at’

It has been more than three months since the untimely death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Ever since the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) took over the case from the Mumbai and Bihar police, the agency actively started investigating into the matter. After quizzing numerous people linked with the case, the CBI has yet not reached to any conclusion which has now raised questions.

After Sushant Singh Rajput’s family lawyer Vikas Singh expressed his dissatisfaction over the speed at which the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is carrying out its investigation, the agency has now issued a statement on the same.

Giving a clarification in their defence, CBI told ANI, “The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting a professional investigation related to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput in which all aspects are being looked at and no aspect has been ruled out as of date. Investigation is continuing.”

Vikas Singh had claimed that the late actor’s family feels that the probe is being taken into a different direction. He has also mentioned that the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) was diverting the attention from the real case towards the drug case.

During a conference with the media, the lawyer alleged that an AIIMS doctor told him that Sushant’s death was by “strangulation” and not by “suicide”. However, the claims were denied by Dr Sudhir Gupta of the AIIMS panel.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Bandra residence on 14th June. His mysterious death case is currently being probed by three investigative agencies namely the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB).

Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on 9th September on drug charges linked to the investigation into the death of Sushant Singh Rajput. The bail requests of Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik will be heard tomorrow by the Bombay High Court.

According to recent reports by NDTV, in her plea, Rhea alleges that Sushant would’ve been “arrested” if he were alive today. He used to take drugs and order his staff to procure them. She argues that it is “preposterous” that while the “consumer of drugs” would receive a maximum punishment of up to one year jail, she would, having paid for the drugs on a few occasions, would be subjected to up to 20 years in jail.

In her plea, the actor further mentions that “used her, her brother Showik and members of his household staff to facilitate his own drug habit while ensuring that he did not leave a paper trail of his own in the form of any electronic evidence whatsoever”. She says that based on information in the public domain, Sushant Singh Rajput had asked his cook, Neeraj, “to make ganja joints/rolls/doobies and place them in his bedroom” three days before his death. She said Neeraj had told the CBI and Mumbai Police that he had prepared the joints and placed them in a box in his bedroom and “thereafter when the actor was found dead, he verified from the box that all the joints/doobies had been consumed and the entire box was empty”.

The petition says Sushant Singh Rajput was “in the regular habit of smoking cigarettes with ganja” since before they met, a habit he allegedly got into during the shoot of his movie “Kedarnath”. The actor says that “Apart from allegedly coordinating the purchase of drugs and occasionally paying for the said purchase, there is no other allegation, yet the prosecution is terming her alleged acts as ‘financing illicit traffic’,”.

SSR Case: Last day of Rhea Chakraborty’s judicial custody, meeting between AIIMS team and CBI postponed

The Narcotics Control Bureau’s (NCB) investigation unearthed a drug angle linked to the mysterious death of Sushant Singh Rajput, leading to the arrest of the late actor’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda and the other drug paddlers. Rhea was arrested by NCB on 9th September and she was sent to 14-day judicial custody after her arrest. The actress was lodged at Byculla Jail and her judicial custody ends today after 14 days.

On the other hand, Times Now have reported that the meeting which was supposed to take place between the AIIMS forensic team and CBI Special Investigation Team (SIT) today, will be rescheduled .According to Times Now, the AIIMS team was supposed to submit its findings and elucidate whether Sushant’s death was a suicide or a homicide. While it was going to take place at the CBI headquarters in Delhi today, the meeting has now been postponed.

It was earlier reported by Times Now that the report would be a conclusive one and would have no contradictions. It will leave no room for any confusion.

Meanwhile, reports from several media houses state that the NCB has summoned KWAN agency CEO Dhruv Chitgopekar and Sushant’s manager Shruti Modi to join the investigation. Jaya Saha, who was quizzed by the NCB on Monday has also been reportedly summoned once again.

According to a report in Times Now, Jaya Saha named Bollywood producer Madhu Mantena in the drugs case. He will likely be summoned by the Narcotics Control Bureau on Wednesday.

Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death case has been under probe and it’s been three months since his untimely demise.The CBI is investigating the mysterious death case of the late actor, ever since the Supreme Court ordered CBI to probe in the SSR case, the agency has quizzed all the people linked with the case. Rhea Chakraborty and her family has been under the radar after Sushant’s father filed an FIR. The CBI has interrogated almost all the connections and has also recreated the crime scene a couple of times at the late actor’s residence.

At the moment, many theories are prevailing in the media related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, which makes it controversial too. One such angle in the case is seeing major activity on the drug front as Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik, Samuel Miranda, Deepesh Sawant and drug peddlers are under judicial custody after they were interrogated by the by the NCB, and it is in the news that after the sessions court rejected the bail plea, Chakraborty’s lawyer would appeal to the HC.

Meanwhile, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is expected to handover the viscera report of the late actor to the CBI next week and as per reports, the forensic team has hinted at inconsistencies in the report.

After Rakul Preet Singh moves the Delhi HC over media hounding, Court directs broadcasters to consider her plea

As reported earlier, actress Rakul Preet Singh has moved to Delhi High Court seeking justice against the alleged media trials against her after her name cropped up in a drug links related to Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise. Reportedly, Rhea Chakraborty, the prime accused in this case, disclosed names of celebrities like Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh to the Narcotics Control Bureau. Now, as Rakul moved to High Court to stop the alleged media trial being carried out,interim directions have not been issued to media channels.

As per a report by ANI, Delhi High Court has mandated,”Centre, Prasar Bharati and News Broadcasters Association to consider Rakul Preet Singh’s plea as a representation and expeditiously decide it including any interim directions that ought to be issued.” The High Court reportedly said, “It is hoped that media houses and TV channels would show restraint and abide by the Program Code and other guidelines while making any report in connection with Rakul.” It further added, “Even if action is taken against one channel, it will send a message to others.”

Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested on 8 September’20 is said to have disclosed quite a few names of Bollywood bigwigs who consume drugs to NCB. It is being reported that the anti drug agency will soon send out summons to celebrities for questioning.

NCB came sprung into action after a few chats of Rhea and her friends allegedly discussing drugs were retrieved by the Enforcement Directorate. Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty too stands arrested and is in jail. They are expected to move to Bombay High Court seeking bail.

Sushant Singh Rajput Case: Two crucial meetings to be held today as AIIMS will submit late actor’s autopsy report to CBI

Every single day new angles are popping out in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. After Mumbai Police ruled out suicide, the actor’s postmortem suggested the actor died of asphyxia due to hanging. However later, when Sushant’s father KK Singh filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and 5 others, CBI got a team of AIIMS doctors to study the actor’s postmortem report. Recently, the head Of AIIMS forensic department Dr. Sudhir Gupta said that the report of the late actor’s autopsy could take up to 10 days and that the report will be submitted to the CBI in due course.

Now according to the latest report in Times Now, a few developments are set to take place today. AIIMS will reportedly submit a report on SSR’s postmortem to CBI, today. Along side, two crucial meetings are also likely to be held today. A source close to the channel revealed that, an internal meeting of the AIIMS board might take place today.

Earlier, it was reported, the CBI team’s investigation report will be unquestionable and will have no confusion. Times Now reported then said that the medical report is ‘likely to throw light on a homicide theory’, and that the homicide angle has not been ruled out.

At the moment, Sushant’s close friend Siddharth Pithani revealed to CBI that the actor feared for his life after he got the news about his former manager Disha Salian’s death. Republic TV accessed Pithani’s statement to CBI where he revealed, after learning about Disha’s death, SSR fainted and when he regained consciousness he kept telling him, “I’ll be killed, Pithani.”

The NCB’s drug investigation had widened with the arrest of at least 8 new people who seem to be connected with drug peddling in Mumbai. office. On Monday, Suryadeep was incarcerated after the NCB lead raids at his house. His arrest comes shortly after the NCB arrested drug dealers Karamjeet Singh, Dwayne Fernandes, Sanket Patel, Ankush Arneja, Sandeep Gupta and Aftab Fateh Ansari, as per a India Today report.

Suryadeep was seen arriving at the NCB office with agency officials on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the CBI is also investigating Sushant’s death case and various angles related to it. On Tuesday, bank officials where the late actor held his accounts were seen arriving at the DRDO guesthouse in Mumbai’s suburbs.

CBI is digging up the late actor’s financial records as his previous accountant Rajat Mewati was seen at the DRDO guesthouse on Monday. Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate has been probing the money laundering angle which the family has accused Rhea, her family and others of.

Rhea and brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda and staffer Dipesh Sawant have been arrested by the NCB. Masaan famed actress Shweta Tripathi recently spoke on the ongoing media trial on Rhea Chakraborty in her connection with late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.

Every single day in the past three months a new astory is unearthed in the Sushant Singh Rajput’s case. The actor passed away on 14th June but the debates and controversies revolving around his untimely demise have continued. In between all of this, the CBI brought out loopholes in the late actor’s autopsy. After that, an expert forensic team from the All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) was given the responsibility to inspect the medical aspects in the case thoroughly.

According to Pinkvilla, the medical team will have a meeting on 17th September about the same. Furthermore, CBI sources have stated that this final investigation report will be irrefutable and without any kind of confusion. They will submit the report within a few days before the meeting is held. A report by Times Now mentions that they will throw light on a possible homicide theory. However, further details are awaited about the same.

At the moment, the NCB has arrested Sushant’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty on charges of the procurement of drugs and giving it to him. The agency has also arrested her brother Showik, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda, and staff Dipesh Sawant in connection with the same. They are currently in jail as the court has rejected their bail plea. The Narcotics Control Bureau has traced Hookah pots, medicines, ashtrays and more as they lead a raid at Sushant Singh Rajput’s Pawana Lake farmhouse. According to the report of Times of India, Sushant Singh Rajput used to pay Rs 2.5 lakh per month as the rent for the farmhouse.

The report also mentioned that the late actor used to party with his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, house manager Samuel Miranda, flatmate Siddharth Pithani and more.

It also added that apart from Sushant and friends, numerous Bollywood celebrities have partied at the farmhouse place. The report also stated that parties were hosted when the ‘Kedarnath’ star was battling depression and he used to allegedly take steroids for it.

Meanwhile, apart from NCB, the CBI and ED are also investigating into various angles of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case.

The Narcotics Control Bureau has now confirmed that Rhea Chakraborty has named actresses Sara Ali Khan and Rakul Preet Singh in her statement pertaining to a drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.

According to the latest reports on Times Now, the central agency is all set to send out summons to both actresses and fashion designer Simone Khambatta on Tuesday and mighty as well call them in for questioning by the end of this week. All three are expected to join the investigation by Thursday.

The channel, in their news break also claimed that several other top names in the film industry have come up, but the team will have to conduct a lot of investigation before moving ahead.

The report also stated that besides A-listers, the NCB will also interrogate various event management companies and event managers who organised parties with the sole purpose to peddle drugs. Sources from the bureau claim that the agency is trying to dig in the syndicate working within the industry and the people involved with them.

This confirmation comes in after Free Press Journal quoted NCB deputy director KPS Malhotra, saying that the agency has not yet prepared any list mentioning names of Bollywood stars. He also stated that the agency prepared a list of peddler and traffickers, which is getting confused as a list of Bollywood celebrities.

On 8th September, the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested Rhea Chakraborty while investigating the drug angle in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. She was later sent to 14-days judicial custody by the Bombay special court. Her bail pleas were rejected by the magistrate, as well as, sessions court. On this, quite a few B-town celebs came out in support of her. Rhea’s best friend Shibani Dandekar demanded her release by sharing her photo on social media. The Narcotics Control Bureau is unearthing drug linkages in the Sushant Singh Rajput case. According to latest updates, Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik who has been detained for procuring drugs for the late actor has in a statement to the anti drug agency said that his sister never spent for the drugs and it was Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda who managed his day to day expenses and paid for the drugs.

As per a report in Mumbai Mirror , Showik has claimed that he learnt through his earlier visits to Sushant’s house that the actor used to smoke cannabis which was confirmed by his flatmate Siddharth Pithani. It has also been mentioned that Rhea only paid for drugs just once through her credit card and that Showik himself never received any money for arranging the drugs for the late actor.

“Through WhatsApp chat, my sister told me that Sushant is taking marijuana at least four-five times a day. Based on this, I told her that I would arrange five grams of bud (curated marijuana)… Then I contacted Abdel Basit Parihar, a friend of mine, to source bud and shared the rates of bud with Rhea and Samuel Miranda, as he used to be the house manager of Sushant then,” claims Showik in her statement as accessed by Mumbai Mirror.

Both Rhea and Showik are currently in NCB’s remand and have been denied bail by Sessions Court on Friday. The actress has reportedly revealed names of many B-Towners during interrogation including Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, Mukesh Chhabra and others for consuming drugs who are likely to be interrogated by the NCB.

From sharing unseen videos of the late actor to posting photos to planting trees and feeding the poor in memory of SSR, fans have been doing it all. Now the fans of ‘Kedarnath’ actor have started an online petition to add his wax statue at Madame Tussauds London and for the same, the fans are urging other fans across the world to sign the petition.

The title of the petition reads, “In Loving Memory of Sushant Singh Rajput: To add his wax statue at Madame Tussauds London,” and while the aim of the petition is for 200,000 people to sign it, they have already reached the count of 170,000. The Narcotics Control Bureau investigating the drug link in Sushant Singh Rajput’s case has arrested Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, house manager Samuel Miranda, staffer Dipesh Sawant and almost six more drug dealers involved in the case. While they have been arrested and sent to judicial remand, their bail plea was dismissed on Friday. India Toda reports suggest that the NCB probe has revealed that Sushant and Rhea sent over 500 grams of curated marijuana via a courier delivery service to Rhea’s residence in Mumbai.

The late actor and actress, who were living together,couriered around 500 grams of curated marijuana in a box concealed with some household items to Rhea’s residence in the suburbs in April. NCB investigations have revealed that Dipesh had called the courier company and sent the marijuana under the pretense of sending household items to eradicate suspicion.

Rhea’s brother Showik used to receive the parcel. The NCB has also interrogated the courier boy who was involved in delivering the package. He has reportedly identified Showik as well as Dipesh and their call records have also been recovered by the NCBm

Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik’s bail plea has been rejected by the court. Rhea reported is locked in the Byculla jail. Her lawyer Satish Manshinde would move Bombay High Court to apply for bail.

Sushant Singh Rajput case: NCB all set to send summons to 25 A-lister Bollywood celebs

As per the reports of Times Now, the accused have spilled out the names of some celebrities who will be summoned by the NCB in the case. Around 25 A-lister Bollywood celebrities have been named in the case which includes actors, directors, casting directors, production houses and others. These are the people who have indulged in the procurement, consumption and peddling of drugs.

The report further stated that the names in the list are quite high profile and hence the NCB is taking every step with utmost care and cautions. A meeting is currently underway in Delhi headed by KPS Malhotra and DG Asthana of NCB. The meeting will be mainly focusing on how they will be proceeding with the investigation forward.

Earlier, in the remand copy of Rhea, Showik and others, NCB had mentioned that from them they have got out names of people involved in the case, both from Bollywood and otherwise. The names will be properly investigated and only after getting evidence will they summon these people.

Rhea Chakraborty to be in judicial custody, Bail plea rejected

The special judge GB Gurao heard the submissions made by the lawyers of Rhea and Showik Chakraborty as well as the special public prosecutor. The hearing for the case concluded in the rejection of the plea put forward for the bail. Rhea Chakraborty and the other accused will have to stay in judicial custody.

Rhea and Showik were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in connection with its probe into the drug angle in the Sushant Singh Rajput case.

Special judge had heard the submissions made by the lawyer of the Chakrabortys and the special public prosecutor on Thursday. The bail applications of the four other accused were also heard, after which the matter was adjourned.

After being questioned for three consecutive days, Rhea was arrested by NCB on Tuesday in connection with the agency’s probe into a drug angle in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death. A magistrate’s court remanded Chakraborty to 14-day judicial custody. After spending Tuesday night at the NCB office, Rhea was on Wednesday moved to the Byculla Jail.

Rhea moved the special court after a magistrate court on Tuesday night rejected her bail plea. She has been booked under Section 27 A of the under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.While rejecting Rhea’s bail plea, the court sent her to judicial custody till September 22. Her brother Showik and other accused have been sent to judicial custody till September 23.

She, in her interview, has asserted that she has never had drugs, even marijuana, but Sushant consumed it regularly and he got the habit after filming Kedarnath. Sushant Singh Rajput case: NCB to counter Showik, Rhea bail plea, hearing underway

After brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant Singh Rajput’s girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty were apprehended by the Narcotics Control Bureau in the drug-angle investigation linked to the Sushant’s death case. Today, on 10 September’20 ,bail plea hearing at Special Court, Mumbai is underway. After being arrested, Rhea was sent to 14 days of judicial custody. Rhea’s lawyer then applied for bail which was then repudiated by the court. Now as per latest updates, Rhea and Showik’s bail hearing is scheduled for today, but, NCB will oppose their bail plea.

As per a report in Republic TV, a source close to the development disclosed that NCB will oppose the bail application of Rhea Chakraborty and the other accused. However, the final argument will be presented today. Apart from Rhea and Showik, Zaid Vilatra, Abdel Basit Parihar, Samuel Mirinda, Dipesh Sawant, and Showik were granted 14 days Judicial Custody till 23 September’20 by the Court.

Today morning, Rhea in her bail plea revealed that she was forced into making confessions. Earlier, TOI report suggested Rhea moved the special Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court seeking bail and retracted her statement to the NCB.

Rhea’s plea stated,“The NCB has used these basic facts to spin a false narrative that portrays Rhea as being someone who finances the illicit traffic or harbouring of offenders. Ankita Lokhande crafted a note on Instagram explaining why she mentioned Rhea Chakraborty’s arrest as an act of ‘karma’. She also gave out a message for her haters, blaming Rhea to be the one at fault behind Sushant Singh Rajput’s alleged drug consumption, even when she was aware of his mental condition.

She began the note saying, “I again clarify, for the reason time and again being asked by the media to me on whether I feel it’s a murder or suicide? I have never said it’s a murder or anyone in particular is responsible. I always have encouraged justice for my late friend SSR and stood by the bereaved family and truth should be brought out by the investigating agencies. Being a Maharashtrian and an Indian citizen, I have total faith in the Maharashtra State Govt/Police & Central Government instrumentalities. Though when some lingos like “Sautan” and “widow” were used for me, which is in public knowledge. I never responded to it. I only came forward to narrate about SSR and his mental health till 2016.”

She even addressed her ‘haters’ as she further noted, “Dear Haters! Let us assume you must have known in and out about your friend and whats going on in her life and relationship. Glad to see you wake up finally, but I wish you would have woken up sooner and advised your friend not to support any kind of drug abuse by SSR if any.”

Without mentioning Rhea’s name, Ankita said, “When she very well knew about his mental state by publicly stating that he was in depression. Should she have allowed a depressed man to consume drugs? How is that going to help? His condition would deteriorate to a level that would make a man take the action that SSR has allegedly taken. She was the closest person to him at that time. On one hand, she says she was coordinating with all the doctors for his betterment of health on request of SSR, and on the other hand, she was coordinating drug logistics for him.”

Ankita went on justifying her post on ‘Karma’ after Rhea Chakraborty’s arrest and stated, “Would anyone, who claims to have loved someone so deeply, allow the other person to consume drugs claiming to know his mental state and condition? Would you do that? I don’t think anyone would. So how can it not be seen as an act of carelessness and irresponsibility? As per her, she informed his family about his ongoing treatment but did she ever inform them about his drug consumption? I am sure she didn’t because maybe she, herself, enjoyed consuming it. And this is why I feel it’s Karma/Fate.”

She concluded her outburst with a piece of advice for all the trolls, “Little advice for the unknown.’You guard your friend and I am standing by the family’. But let us maintain civility by not coming on to each other personally, either directly or indirectly.”

Rhea Chakraborty is currently undergoing her 14-day judicial custody. The Narcotics Control Bureau arrested her on charges of procuring drugs on 8th September. According to a report by Pinkvilla, the actress has been kept at a separate cell at the Byculla jail. This cell is near the general barracks of the ground floor of the prison. For the unversed, this cell is similar to the one in which Indrani Mukerjea has been lodged since the year 2016.

Indrani Mukerjea is the prime accused in the Sheena Bora murder case and a co-conspirator in the media scam of INX. As per the reports of Pinkvilla, Rhea Chakraborty has been put into a cell close to that of Indrani Mukerjea. The actress who was earlier sent to the general barracks had to shift her cell owing to security issues. Apart from that, her dinner reportedly included rice, dal, 2 chapatis, and a sabzi. Rhea Chakraborty and Showik Chakraborty have been under 14 days judicial custody, after various drug links and chats were entrenched by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). As per reports of Pinkvilla, the NCB had claimed in the remand application that Rhea used to acquire drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput and also used to “manage finances for drug procurement along with Rajput”. Rhea has been arrested and taken to the women’s jail in Byculla today morning. Her lawyer Satish Maneshinde said that Rhea and Showik’s bail pleas have been file and will be heard tomorrow. (10th September)

Satish Maneshinde spoke to ANI, said that, “Hearing in the bail applications of Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik to be held on 10th September at Special Court, Mumbai.” According to the sources of Times Now, Rhea’s has stated in her bail plea that a ‘false narrative’ is being given out by the NCB against her.

Referring to her bail application in Sessions Court, Times Now mentioned, “During custody, the applicant (Rhea) was coerced into making self incriminatory confessions,” adding that she has ‘formally retracted’ all such implicated confessions.

On Tuesday after Rhea Chakraborty’s arrest, she was produced before a local court through video conference in Mumbai. However, the court rejected the actor’s bail plea and sent her to judicial custody till 22nd September. The bail pleas are set to be heard by the sessions court tomorrow.

The actress is now reportedly sent to 14-days judicial custody. Meanwhile, the Bollywood celebs are seen distributed into two sections regarding their opinions about the same.

Some celebs are trying to justifying on Rhea’s behalf that she has been arrested for procuring drugs and not for murder or gold-digging charges. Among others who have taken a stand for Rhea Chakraborty is Sonam Kapoor who has shared a post on Instagram that includes the quote, “Roses are red, violets are blue. Let’s smash the patriarchy, me and you.” She further added a caption that reads, “Everyone loves a witch hunt as long as it’s someone else’s witch being hunted. Walter Kirn.” Sonam’s sister Rhea Kapoor has also come forward to support Rhea, she shared the same quote on social media.

Apart from Sonam Kapoor, numerous other celebs have mentioned #JusticeForRhea on social media. Taapse Pannu, Vidya Balan, Prateik Babbar, Anurag Kashyap, Malakia Arora, Neha Dhupia, and others have shared the same quote on their social media accounts while seeking justice for the actress.

Sushant Singh Rajput case: Rhea Chakraborty states she bought marijuana for Sushant, arrested by NCB

After three days of probing , the Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday arrested Rhea Chakraborty on charges of arranging and financing consumption of marijuana by Sushant Singh Rajput, with the help of her brother, Showik Chakraborty, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda and cook Dipesh Sawant.

In it’s remand application the NCB has mentioned Rhea as a part of an “active drug syndicate” who is in touch with drug suppliers. She has been sent to judicial custody by the magistrate, till 22nd September as the agency had asked for Rhea’s judicial custody itself.

Minutes after Rhea was arrested by Narcotics Control Bureau on Tuesday, her legal advocate Satish Maneshinde criticised central agencies for harassing a woman “just because she was in love with a drug addict”. Maneshinde is likely to move session courts for bail on Wednesday. He has termed Rhea Chakraborty’s arrest as a ‘travesty of justice’. Rhea faces a minimum of 10 years of jail and maximum 20 years and a fine of ₹1 lakh.

Rhea has been booked under the Narcotics Drug and Psychotropic Substances Act under section 8(c) that deals with possession and purchase, 20B(II) for possession, purchase and transportation, 27 for financing illegal traffic, 28 for attempt to commit offences and 29 for abetment and criminal conspiracy.

On Tuesday, Rhea Chakraborty, the main accused of Sushant Singh Rajput‘s death case, has been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), under various sections of NDPS. Soon after the news came out, Sushant Singh Rajput’s former girlfriend and ‘Pavitra Rishta’ co-star took it to her social media account and posted a quote on how ‘Karma’ hits back.

The post read, “Nothing happens by chance, by fate. You create your own fate by actions. That’s Karma.” The post was captioned as ‘JUSTICE’.

Rhea Chakraborty underwent her COVID-19 test which came out as negative and also went through her medical examination at Sion hospital. The Narcotics Control Bureau’s Deputy Director KPS Malhotra stated that Rhea is yet to be formally arrested. “Paper work and other formalities are being completed”, he said.

Currently, Rhea Chakraborty is produced before the magistrate via video conferencing. NCB is seeking 14-day judicial custody of the actress.

The constant media coverage on the entire case made Rhea’s lawyer Satish Maneshinde make it clear for the people that Rhea has been taken in remand by NCB and that it is not the final verdict of the case. Rhea Chakraborty will be procured before the court, along with three other arrested accused. The NCB is likely to file a plea before the court pursuing the need for all the four accused in police remand for further questioning. Chances are she will be confronted with others in days to come and will be taken to places for recovery if any. Reportedly, to break cartel her custodial probing is needed.

Rhea Chakraborty is currently at the Narcotics Control Bureau office for the 2nd round of interrogation in connection to the drug-angle emerged in Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. Reportedly, she has dropped the names of some big Bollywood A-lister actors to the NCB.

As per a report in Times Now, Rhea confirmed around 17-18 big names to the NCB. However, in what context the names were taken remains unknown. These names have now come under the scanner of the NCB.

In another report, Rhea reportedly revealed that Sushant got hooked to drugs in 2016 while shooting for the film Kedarnath. Rhea also added that he used to consume drugs with his co-stars during the shoot.

The report also added that Sushant would dictate messages to type on WhatsApp regarding drugs. He used to assure that the delivery of the drugs is done by his staff members. According to Rhea, nobody knew that he was procuring drugs.

On Sunday, after intense six-hour-long interrogation, Rhea confessed that she procured drugs for Sushant, but she has never consumed drugs. Cross-questioning was done between Rhea and her brother Showik Chakraborty, Samuel Miranda, and Sushant’s house-help Dipesh Sawant.

Meanwhile, Rhea Chakraborty’s father Indrajit Chakraborty had issued a statement after the arrest of his son Showik. Indrajit, Lt Col (retd), was quoted in India Today as saying: “Congratulations India, you have arrested my son, I’m sure next on the line is my daughter and I don’t know who is next thereafter. You have effectively demolished a middle-class family. But of course, for the sake of justice, everything is justified. Jai Hind.”
