A tragic gas leak and subsequent explosion in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, has left a family devastated as a mother and her two young daughters were charred to death in the blaze. The incident occurred in the village of Kanaecha Udaavata, under the Railda gram panchayat area of Bhiwadi, when a gas cylinder in a small kitchen inside a shop leaked and ignited, officials and local witnesses said.

Residents told local media that the woman had gone to the kitchen in the early morning to make tea when the gas was turned on. With a gas leak already present, the flame triggered a powerful blast and a sudden fire that engulfed the enclosed kitchen space. The intensity of the flame was such that the mother and her two daughters could not escape in time and were trapped inside, resulting in fatal burn injuries.

By the time neighbours and local helpers rushed in with basic fire‑fighting efforts, the fire had spread rapidly through the structure. Fire services from Bhiwadi arrived shortly after the alarm and worked hard to extinguish the blaze, but by then the three victims had already sustained severe burns. All three were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were declared dead due to the extent of their injuries, according to preliminary reports.

The gas‑cylinder explosion has once again highlighted the dangers of cylinder‑handling and kitchen safety in small shops and residential units across Bhiwadi and nearby rural pockets. Local authorities have said a formal inquiry into the incident will examine whether safety norms were being followed at the site, while the community remains in shock over the loss of the woman and her two young daughters.
