Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti’s production house, Tiger Baby Digital LLP, has fallen victim to a major data‑theft incident at its Mumbai office, with storage devices and data worth around ₹13 lakh allegedly stolen. The theft came to light on May 21, when staff members discovered that hard disks needed for ongoing work had gone missing from the Bandra‑West office cupboard, triggering an internal audit and a police complaint.

The missing hardware includes 66 hard drives that contained important film, OTT, and advertisement data, including raw footage, edited material, commercials and unreleased project archives. An employee, Mohammad Shahid Azim Khan, who worked as a support staffer at the office, has been arrested; he reportedly admitted to stealing 24 hard disks over the past five months and selling each for about ₹15,000–₹20,000 to a man named Ritesh from the Borivali area. Police have also registered a case against the buyer for possessing stolen property.

The incident has raised serious concerns about digital‑data security inside Mumbai’s film and streaming industry, where unreleased content and sensitive edits often live on physical drives. Bandra police are now probing whether the stolen data has been accessed, leaked or further circulated, while Tiger Baby and associated filmmakers, including those connected to projects like Tiger 3, Baby‑series spin‑offs and web titles from Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh, anxiously await recovery and reassurance that no leaks occur
