Vodafone Idea appoints Kumar Mangalam Birla as new chairman

Vodafone Idea Limited has announced a significant change in its leadership structure, with Kumar Mangalam Birla taking over as the Non-Executive Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective from 5th May 2026. This decision was approved by the company’s Board of Directors.

The announcement also includes the transition of Ravinder Takkar, who has stepped down from his role as the Non-Executive Chairman. Takkar will continue to serve as a Non-Executive Director and has been appointed as the Non-Executive Vice Chairman of the Board, also effective from 5th May 2026.

Kumar Mangalam Birla, who is already a Non-Executive Director of Vodafone Idea, brings a wealth of experience to his new role as Chairman. His appointment is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its leadership team and drive strategic initiatives.

Ravinder Takkar’s new role as Vice Chairman will allow him to continue contributing to the company’s strategic direction while providing support to the newly appointed Chairman.
