Aamir Khan who is also known as ‘Mr. Perfectionist of Bollywood’, clocks a year older today March 14. The 57-year-old star through his career spanning over 30 years, has cemented himself as one of the prominent and significant actors of Indian cinema. It is also said that he is one of the highest paid actors, who prefers to make things just right in his own way. However, the power star has also faced several controversies in his professional front.

1. PK-

Aamir Khan starrer film PK faced various controversies for its nude poster featuring the lead actor. Another side, the wrath of a few Hindutva groups who claimed that it hurt their religious sentiments. PK was also accused of propagating ‘love-jihad’ because of a romantic angle between the characters of Anushka Sharma and Sushant Singh Rajput in the film. There were several protests by activists of the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad in different states that includes Jammu, Delhi, Mumbai, Bhopal, Agra and Ahmedabad.

2. Rangeela-

Rangeela is a 1995 romantic comedy film written, directed and produced by Ram Gopal Varma. For the unversed, the director was quoted in an interview as saying that a waiter in the film did better acting than Aamir. It created a lot of noise back then and it is also said that due to such inconvenience the duo never worked together again.

3. Rang De Basanti-

In one clip of Rang De Basanti, it was displayed that Indian Air Force pilot Abhijeet Gadgil was killed when his plane crashed. And then one of the controversies aroused as producers did not show Abhijeet’s mother Kavita Gadgil the film that was loosely based on her son’s life.

Nevertheless, we are glad to have such talented and prominent actor in Indian film industry.

Urmila Matondkar made quite an entrance in the industry breaking all the mainstream norms. Urmila managed to get fame in a sensual yet stunning presence in Hindi cinema.

Urmila made her debut as a child artist with the 1977 release Karm. She has also starred in several Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Marathi films. She is one those actress who has explored so many genres in the industry. From doing romance drama, rom-coms, family drama, crime thriller, the Rangeela actress is a perfect example of versatility.

Even after more than two decades, her dance numbers are still a hit. She managed to catch audience’s attention by her expressions, performance and sensual appeal. Rangeela actress was famous for her stunning beauty and performance.

Urmila Matondkar pens down a heartfelt note on ‘Rangeela’ completing 25 years

Urmila Matondkar who played the lead role in Rangeela (1995) beside Aamir Khan and Jackie Shroff wrote an emotional note on the film completing silver jubilee of 25 years. She thanked her fans for supporting her back then. The actress took to her social media to post her note with a beautiful picture of her from the movie.

The actress penned down the lyrics of a song from the film, “Chal mera sang sang. Lele duniya ka rang. Hoja Rangeela re”. She further added, “Aur aap sab chale… ak lamhe aur behatarin safar par mera sath.. jo aab tak jaari hai.. mera dil ka gaharayion se aap sabka bas sukriya aur dhanyabad thanks ek chhote ghar ki bade sapanon vali ladki ka sath dena ka lie”.

The film was written, directed and produced by Ram Gopal Verma. Also this film marks the debut of AR Rahman with an original score and sound track.
