Sonata Software appoints Rajsekhar Datta Roy as CEO from May 2026

Sonata Software has announced the appointment of Rajsekhar Datta Roy as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective from May 9, 2026. Raj, who has been with the company for several years, will lead Sonata Software‘s international business for a period of three years.

Raj brings over three decades of experience in scaling technology practices and leading global delivery organisations for large enterprise clients. His contributions to Sonata Software include expanding the company’s Dynamics and Microsoft practices and playing a crucial role in the firm’s transformation into an AI-first organisation.

Raj has been instrumental in advancing Sonata Software’s Responsible-first AI approach and in the development of Sonata Harmoni.AI. He has also improved operational margins through focused execution and technology-led efficiencies.

Prior to his new role, Raj served as Chief Delivery Officer and was a key member of Sonata Software’s executive leadership team. In this capacity, he was responsible for global delivery and operations, as well as the company’s transformation into an AI-first delivery organisation.

The Board of Directors also announced that Samir Dhir will step down from his role as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer on May 8, 2026. Samir will continue to serve as an Advisor to the Board until December 31, 2026, to ensure a smooth transition.
