Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao are back with Stree 2. Yes, you read it right. The trailer for the upcoming horror-comedy film was released today. The film will pick off right where the story of Stree ended. However, this time around, the village of Chanderi is haunted by a new ghost.

The trailer features Rajkumar Rao, Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi, Shraddha Kapoor and others. The story follows the monster Sartaka admi, who is targeting girls in the town. Vicky and his companions embark on a mission to take on Sarkate with the help of Stree.

The people of Chanderi village who were haunted by Stree and used to say, “Oh Stree Kal aana.” However, this time they are seeking Stree’s help to protect them from the evil ghost. They have started writing, “Oh Stree raksha karna,” on the walls.

The trailer shares insights from the experiences of Vicky and his friends lives as they tackle this new ghost. Everyone is scared in the town. Though, the trailer has immense comedy-packed scenes which will surely make the movie light-hearted yet a spooking haunting tale.

Stree 2 is directed by Amar Kaushik. While the film is produced under the banner of Maddock Films, which is also famous for their other productions such as Bhediya, Roohi and Munjya. It is reported that Akshay Kumar will play a cameo role in the movie. While Tamannaah Bhatia will be performing on a special song in the film.

Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao starrer Stree was one of the hit films during its release in the year 2018. The film was highly applauded by the audience and they appreciated the entire plotline and actor’s performance. A few times back, director Dinesh Vijan announced the sequel to the Stree movie. Since then rumours have been doing rounds on social media, anticipating the storyline and plausible twists.

According to a recent report, it has been understood that Dinesh Vijan has roped in Bhediya star Varun Dhawan to make the film even more interesting. Varun Dhawan has shot for a cameo role in Shraddha Kapoor starrer Stree 2 in a studio in Mumbai.

Bhediya’s character is very close to Varun’s heart and there will be a crossover between these two iconic films. His entry in Stree 2 will give major insights into the plot of Bhediya 2. The end of Stree 2 will mark the beginning of Bhediya’s sequel.

The shooting for Bhediya 2 will begin in 2025. Filmmaker Dinesh Vijan is all set to make a spectacular horror comedy universe by doing such crossovers amongst iconic films. Stree 2 is all set to hit the theaters in August 2024.

Meanwhile, on the work front, Varun Dhawan was last seen in Bawaal alongside Janhvi Kapoor. The actor is currently gearing up for his Pan India film Baby John, which is a remake of the Tamil film Theri. The film is produced by Kalees and produced by Atlee. The actress said: “Teachers form an important part of a child’s life and while we celebrate our teachers, recognising and thanking the people who are key in helping us grow. I remember celebrating Teacher’s Day with such gusto – dressing up, performances, cards, roses and celebrations for our mentors in the best way possible.”

The Yogi government is working to combat cybercrime and fraud, and the Uttar Pradesh Police have started a social media campaign with the actor Rajkummar Rao’s backing. This is in keeping with these efforts.

The initiative, which aims to increase public awareness of online shopping fraud and to warn consumers about it, has received resounding public approval.

On 9 July, as part of the campaign, the UP Police posted a tweet from its Twitter account in which RajKummar applauded the effort to increase awareness of cybercrime and urged people to be on the lookout for online shopping fraud. More than 20,000 people have already viewed, about 400 have retweeted, and more than 500 have liked this tweet from the UP Police.

It is reported that during the Director General of Police/Inspector General of Police conference, a proposal was made to make common people aware of cybercrime and to provide a helpline in regional languages.

The Uttar Pradesh Police Department has enlisted the help of the ‘Stree’ actor to make the campaign more effective in communicating the message of cyber security to the public. In the future, the UP Police intends to involve more actors and athletes in its cybercrime awareness campaign.

Hum Do Hamare Do teaser starts with production house Maddock Films’ earlier movie releases such as Stree, Luka Chuppi, Bala, and Mimi. Introducing Kriti and Rajkummar, the teaser then enquire, “Ab humara hero kya karega?” The reply to which is adopting parents. Hum Do Hamare Do is all ready to release on Disney+Hotstar on October 29.

Featuring Kriti Sanon and Rajkummar Rao in the key roles, Hum Do Humare Do also features Paresh Rawal, Ratna Pathak, and Aparshakti Khurana. The movie is scripted by Abhishek Jain, Prashant Jha, and Abhijeet Khuman. The plot of Hum Do Humare Do is about a new couple who agree to adopt two parents to fill up the emptiness in their lives. Indian actor and film director Mahesh Manjrekar along with film producer Sandeep Singh had announced a biopic on the life of the activist, politician and freedom fighter Veer Savarkar on his 138th birth anniversary.

The title of the film is decided as ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ and even the first poster of this great biopic is out. Sandeep Singh who is recently in controversy due to the late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s case and also the producer of the movies had shared the poster on his Instagram account on 28th May with the caption as “Azaadi ke itihas ki puri baat abhi janna baki hai! Miliye #SwatantraVeerSavarkar se bahut jald…. Veer Savarkar is revered and criticized in equal measure. As the biopic is planned on a grand level with a big budget the team wants some of the finest actors of Bollywood to perform this tough role. Bollywood Hungama informed that one of their sources stated, “The bid was between Rajkummar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana. The team is clear on one fact – they need a terrific performer to pull off this challenging role and they zeroed in on Raj and Ayushmann. Both of them were spoken to, for the film and it seems the team might have expressed their interest in one of them already. Ayushmann has a slight edge over Raj. Rajkummar has many films lined up which he needs to shoot next, whereas, Ayushmann clearly has delivered better box office numbers than Raj on average. The budget of this film will be high, so they want a bankable star and Ayushmann is their first choice. They are already in talks and it needs to be seen if they mutually agree on the project anytime soon.”

Adarsh Gourav, who was nominated for a BAFTA for best leading actor for his role in Netflix’s The White Tiger, lost to Anthony Hopkins. The award went to the veteran Welsh actor for his role in The Father, while Nomadland won four awards, including best Film.

Gourav was praised for his performance as Balram Halwai in The White Tiger, in which he co-starred with Rajkummar Rao and Priyanka Chopra. Ramin Bahrani’s film revolves around the character of Balram, a native of Laxmangarh village who rises from modest beginnings to become a wealthy entrepreneur.

The plot touches on a wide range of issues, including globalisation, social and economic mobility, caste inequality, morals, and so on.

Gourav had earlier expressed his thoughts about his BAFTA nomination while speaking with PTI. He said, “The BAFTA nomination is really overwhelming. It feels like I’m reading a chapter from a book.”

On the second night of the ceremony, Chloe Zhao’s Nomadland was named best film. It has won three more awards, making it the top award winner with the most. Zhao also won the BAFTA for best director, becoming only the second woman and first person of colour to do so.

BAFTAs are British equivalent to Oscars. They honour the best in national and international cinema.

Eight of the 25 winners were unveiled on April 10. Winners in the rest of the categories were revealed on April 11.

Netflix starrer ‘The White Tiger’ producer Mukul Deora soon to face ED probe for fraud funding of movie

‘The White Tiger’ producer Mukul Deora is in trouble as a complaint has been lodged against him. He has been alleged of using a Swiss Bank account, for funding the development of Netflix film, The White Tiger starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Rajkummar Rao. A complaint is registered against Mukul Deora, son of late Congress Politician Murli Deora, and his CA Sharad Seksaria and Netflix. The request to probe Mukul Deora’s shell companies was made by Sonia Mudbhatkal, Founder and CEO of the New Jersey-based Continuum Media LLC.

Further, Mudbhatkal said in her compliant to ED, “I wanted to lodge a formal request for an investigation into the dealings of Congress politician Murli Deora’s son Mukul Deora and his CA (and Director of all Mukul Deora and Milind Deora companies), Sharad Seksaria, and also Netflix who is their accomplice as they are in the know of all these various shell companies, and have done a deal with such companies knowingly in violation of John Hart and my (the original copyright holders and producers of the film, The White Tiger) copyright and producing rights of the picture, and in, potentially, gross violation of our country’s laws.”

Moreover, Mukul’s lawyer Sandeep Sethi has clearly admitted that the Irish offshore entity Particle Media belongs to Mukul’s Benami entity, which on paper shows it belongs to a fictitious person known as Raj Lakhani (Mukul’s benamidar). Further, some reports say that Lakhani is a Hong Kong resident and a British Passport holder.

Furthermore, Mudbhatkal said in her complaint, that the BSI bank which was apparently closed in 2016 gave a cheque to Netflix for funding of the movie. She has all the relevant documents to prove that all the transactions done by the producer Deora are fraud.

Later on Monday, Mukul Deora issued a statement reacting to the charges.“I have a deep respect for and full faith in the judiciary of India. As you are aware, on 21 January 2021, upon a holistic consideration of the facts, the Hon’ble Delhi High Court, among other things, rejected the demand by the Plaintiffs and refused to stay the release of The White Tiger. I understand that the Delhi High Court observed that it was not possible, based on the material on record before it, to come to any prima facie conclusion that, by producing or releasing the film, the Defendants indulged in illegal copyright infringement or transgressed the right of the Plaintiff as was alleged in the matter. The matter is currently subjudice and I look forward to the completion of the legal proceedings in this matter. The truth will continue to prevail.”

On Tuesday, Adarsh who is in lead earned a nomination at the Independent Spirit Awards in Best Male Lead Category. On the other hand, Netflix has been pushing for Priyanka and Rajkumar in best-supporting actors categories for the Awards season as well.

Bollywood stars Rajkumar Rao and Bhumi Pednekar‘s much discussed about comedy-drama Badhaai Do, went on floors last week. Bhumi shared a glimpse into the shoot on Wednesday. She took to Instagram to share her first picture with Rajkumar Rao. The movie is a sequel to the National-Award winning blockbuster, ‘Badhaai Ho’. To acquaint the characters of the film to viewers, the actress wrote, “Do mastane chale zindagi banane, Bande saying aur naam ke deewane #SumiAurShardul #BadhaaiDo”

In the selfie, we can see Rajkumar Rao in a new look. He is seen donning a mustache as Bhumi poses close to him. Rajkumar Rao will be playing a solo male cop in an all-female police station an Bhumi Pednekar will be seen essaying the role of a PT teacher.

The actors previously took to their respective social media handles and shared on the new movie that went on floors from January 5. He had shared a picture with Bhumi, where they held clapboards together. He captioned the picture as, “Shuru ho gai hai hamari kahani, Jahan hai dono Raja aur Rani, Shardul Aur Sumi hai ekdam pyaare, Yeh dono hai situation ke maare, Milenge hum aapse jald, Ho jayega tab sab clear aur tab hum kahengey.”

‘Badhaai Ho’ enjoyed critical and commercial success upon release. Directed by Amit Sharma, it featured Ayushman Khurrana and Sanya Malhotra in the lead roles.

‘Badhaai Do’ is directed by Harshvardhan Kulkarni. He previsouly helmed the Gulshan-Devaiah starrer comedy flick ‘Hunterr’ (2015). The upcoming movie is penned by Suman Adhikary and Akshat Ghildial, who had co-written ‘Badhaai Ho’.
