Coolie is an under-production action-thriller film directed by Lokesh Kumar which may mark the second collaboration between Aamir Khan and Rajinikanth after 30 years, as per reports by India Blitz.

According to the report, it has been speculated that Aamir may have a cameo in the movie Coolie. The actors have earlier featured together in ‘Aatank Hi Aatank’ in 1995. The report also suggested that Lokesh might make his directorial debut by directing Aamir in his next movie after Coolie. However, there is no confirmation to these claims.

Rajinikanth is currently in Vizag, shooting the film Coolie. Besides him, the movie casts include Shruti Haasan, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir and Mahendran in other significant roles.

Talking about the film, Rajinikanth said, “There are three heroes of this event. One is Kalki, next is producer Subaskaran and Mani Ratnam. People were waiting for the magazine as fans wait for tickets in theatres. I used to wonder why this novel series was never made as a film. Rajinikanth won’t enter politics due to ill-health, says ‘Please forgive me’

Actor-turned-politician Rajinikanth who was all set to announce the launch of his political party on 31st December, on Tuesday, announced that he will not be entering politics citing health reasons. “With extreme sadness, I say that I can’t enter politics. I alone know the pain I went through while announcing this decision,” he said in his statement.

This announcement by Rajinikanth comes after he was discharged from a hospital in Hyderabad two days ago. He had been hospitalised after suffering from high blood pressure. The actor underwent treatment for three days before he returned to his Chennai residency on Sunday. He was in Hyderabad shooting for Annaatthe before he was hospitalised.

In his statement posted to his Twitter account, Rajinikanth said that he takes the recent development over his health condition as a warning from God and therefore will not participate in the 2021 Tamil Nadu elections.

The shooting of Annaatthe starring superstar Rajinikanth has been suspended after four crew members test positive for COVID-19. Sun Pictures, the production house behind Annaatthe took to Twitter to confirm the news. The production house also clarified that Rajinikanth and other crew members tested negative for COVID-19.

In their statement, Sun Pictures wrote, “During routine testing at #Annaathe shoot 4 crew members have tested positive for Covid19. Superstar @rajinikanth and other crew members have tested negative. To ensure utmost safety #Annaatthe shooting has been postponed.”

Earlier, the shooting for Annaatthe was paused due to the Coronavirus induced pandemic and resumed in the second week of December. The production for the film starring Rajinikanth, Nayanthara and others, began in Hyderabad. Rajinikanth took a chartered flight to Hyderabad with his daughter Aishwarya Dhanush.
