Following the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22, tensions between India and Pakistan escalated, leading India to launch “Operation Sindoor” on May 7, targeting terror infrastructure sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Despite reaching a ceasefire after diplomatic talks, Pakistan repeatedly violated the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) and the International Border for two consecutive days, further heightening tensions.

Today, Prime Minister Modi visited the Adampur airbase in Punjab, where he interacted with Indian Air Force personnel who had been at the forefront of operations during the recent conflict. During his visit, the Prime Minister issued a stern warning.

PM Modi said, “India’s ‘Laxman Rekha’ against terrorism is crystal clear now. If another terror attack occurs now, India will give a reply – a solid reply. We saw this during surgical strike, during air strike. Now, OperationSindoor is India’s new normal. Like I said yesterday, India has decided on three points. First, if there is a terrorist attack on India, we will give a reply in our way, on our condition, on our time. Second, India will not tolerate any nuclear blackmail. Third, we will not see terror-supporting government and terror masterminds as separate entities. The world too is going ahead by understanding India’s new form, its new system”

Narendra Modi, India's current Prime Minister, has a modest net worth estimated at around ₹3.07 crores (₹30.7 million) as of 2024. Let us have a look at his net worth in depth.

Narendra Modi, born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, India, is the incumbent Prime Minister of the nation. He assumed the office of the 18th Prime Minister in May 2014 as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). Known for his strong leadership and transformative vision, Modi has garnered recognition for his governance approach. Before becoming the Prime Minister, he served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2001 to 2014, where he implemented significant economic and social reforms.

Modi’s tenure as Prime Minister has been marked by major initiatives such as the introduction of the Goods and Services Tax (GST), the Make in India campaign, and efforts to enhance digital infrastructure and financial inclusion. His policies and leadership style resonated with a broad support base, leading to his re-election in 2019. Under his leadership, India has pursued ambitious economic growth targets and aimed to exert greater international influence. Modi is credited for his strong determination and vision to drive India towards progress and development.

Net Worth

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s total net worth has risen to approximately ₹3.07 crores (₹30.7 million) in 2024. This marks an increase of around half a crore rupees compared to his net worth of ₹2.85 crores in 2023. Mr. Modi first assumed the office of Prime Minister after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, and he is currently serving his second term as the head of government. Regarded as an influential figure in Indian politics, his income comprises his Prime Minister’s salary and investments in fixed deposits and other assets.

Assets Diversification

The Prime Minister does not have any investments in the stock market. His investments include Public Investment Funds amounting to Rs. 8.9 lakh, life insurance policies worth Rs. 1.5 lakh and L&T Infrastructure Bonds were purchased in 2012 for Rs. 20,000, as reported by the Hindustan Times. During Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s tenure, it was mandated that all Union ministers must voluntarily declare their assets and liabilities at the end of each financial year to promote transparency in public life.

PM Modi’s wealth has reportedly increased mainly due to his fixed deposits with the State Bank of India, Gandhinagar, which now total Rs. 1.86 crore, up from Rs. 1.6 crore last year. In terms of assets, Modi does not own any vehicles. He possesses four gold rings valued at Rs. 1.48 lakh and has a bank balance of Rs. 1.5 lakh, and holds cash amounting to Rs. 36,000. Since becoming Prime Minister, he has not acquired any new property. He has a one-fourth share in a residential property purchased in 2002. The declarations are available in the public domain and can be accessed through the PM’s official website.

Bank balance and salary

As of March 31st, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s bank balance stood at ₹1,52,480, with ₹36,900 in cash on hand. The increase in his net worth can be attributed to his fixed deposits in the State Bank of India’s Gandhinagar branch, which are currently valued at ₹1.83 crore. Modi’s investments also include National Savings Certificates amounting to ₹8,93,251, life insurance policies worth ₹1,50,957, and L&T infrastructure bonds purchased in 2012 for ₹20,000.

Furthermore, he owns four gold rings valued at ₹1,48,331 and holds a 25% share in a residential property worth ₹1.1 crore, which he acquired in 2002. Since becoming Prime Minister, Modi has not taken out any loans, does not own a personal vehicle, and has not purchased any new property. His financial declarations, which are publicly available, reveal a modest lifestyle and a focus on prudent investments.

Narendra Modi receives a monthly salary of Rs. 2 lakhs (200,000) as the Prime Minister of India. His annual compensation package amounts to Rs. 19,20,000. The total salary of the Indian PM comprises a basic pay of Rs. 50,000 along with various allowances, perks, and benefits. In addition to the basic pay, Modi is entitled to a range of allowances, perks, and benefits included in the overall annual package. The remuneration structure for the Prime Minister’s position encompasses not only the base salary but also supplementary components that contribute to the comprehensive annual compensation.

Narendra Modi, India’s current Prime Minister, has a modest net worth estimated at around ₹3.07 crores (₹30.7 million) as of 2024, which has seen a significant increase from the previous year. His wealth primarily consists of fixed deposits in the State Bank of India, National Savings Certificates, life insurance policies, and a few bonds. Modi does not have any investments in the stock market or personal vehicles, and his only immovable property is a residential property he acquired in 2002, in which he holds a 25% share.

Addressing the nation, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the possibility of the Model Code of Conduct being enforced in March, mirroring its implementation during previous election cycles.

In anticipation of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the suspension of his monthly broadcast, Mann Ki Baat, for the next three months. This decision, aimed at upholding political decorum during the election period, was revealed during the 110th episode of the program.

Addressing the nation, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the possibility of the Model Code of Conduct being enforced in March, mirroring its implementation during previous election cycles. By temporarily halting Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister aims to ensure that the program remains impartial and detached from any perceived influence of the government, particularly during a crucial political period.

Since its inception, Mann Ki Baat has served as a platform for the Prime Minister to connect with the citizens of India, addressing various issues and celebrating the country’s achievements. Its uninterrupted run of 110 episodes underscores its significance as a medium for fostering dialogue and engaging with the public on matters of national importance.

During his announcement, Prime Minister Modi reiterated the program’s core values, stating, “It is a program of the people, for the people, and by the people.” This sentiment emphasizes the inclusive nature of Mann Ki Baat and its commitment to representing the collective voice of the nation.

Looking ahead, Prime Minister Modi expressed anticipation for the 111th episode of Mann Ki Baat, noting the auspiciousness associated with the number. “What can be better than this?” he remarked, highlighting the program’s continued relevance and significance in the socio-political landscape of India.

The decision to suspend Mann Ki Baat comes amidst Prime Minister Modi’s expressed confidence in securing another term in office during the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. With the political climate intensifying and anticipation building ahead of the polls, the temporary hiatus of the program reflects the Prime Minister’s commitment to upholding democratic principles and ensuring a fair electoral process.

Majumdar revealed that the BJP intends to facilitate a meeting between the Prime Minister and victims of sexual assault from Sandeshkhali, situated in the Basirhat subdivision of the North 24 Parganas district.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to address a women’s rally in Barasat, located in West Bengal’s North 24 Parganas district, on March 6, as announced by BJP West Bengal unit President Sukanta Majumdar. This announcement comes amidst heightened controversy surrounding allegations of sexual harassment and land-grabbing in the region.

Majumdar revealed that the BJP intends to facilitate a meeting between the Prime Minister and victims of sexual assault from Sandeshkhali, situated in the Basirhat subdivision of the North 24 Parganas district. He stated, “If the distressed women from Sandeshkhali express a desire to meet the Prime Minister, the party will facilitate such a meeting.”

The accusations stem from a significant number of women in Sandeshkhali alleging Shajahan Sheikh, a prominent figure in the Trinamool Congress, and his supporters of involvement in land-grabbing and sexual assault under coercion. Shajahan Sheikh has been evading authorities since a mob, purportedly linked to him, attacked Enforcement Directorate officials during a raid related to a ration scam on January 5.

In response to these allegations, the BJP released a documentary on social media, exceeding 20 minutes in duration, shedding light on the alleged sexual exploitation of women in Sandeshkhali. The documentary features testimonies from women in the area, sharing their distressing experiences.

The BJP has accused the Trinamool Congress-led state government of attempting to conceal the purported crimes in Sandeshkhali. The party has emphasized the importance of exposing the truth behind the situation, sharing the documentary on its social media platforms.

The decision to include a meeting with the alleged victims as part of Prime Minister Modi’s visit has stirred controversy in West Bengal’s political landscape. While the BJP sees it as a gesture of support towards the victims and a platform to highlight the alleged crimes, the Trinamool Congress views it as a political maneuver aimed at tarnishing their image ahead of the upcoming elections.

The situation in Sandeshkhali remains tense, with allegations and counter-allegations being exchanged between the two political parties. The upcoming visit of Prime Minister Modi and the proposed meeting with the victims have added fuel to the already fiery political atmosphere in the region.

As the political drama unfolds, all eyes will be on Barasat on March 6, where Prime Minister Modi is expected to address a gathering of women, amidst a backdrop of controversy and accusations, further intensifying the already heated political climate in West Bengal.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday discussed about UPI and digital payments and praised a content publisher ‘India in Pixels’ praising the melody created through the data sonification process for the amount of transactions done through UPI. The publisher tweeted the graphics with this tune on Tuesday itself. The Prime Minister retweeted this today and said, ‘I always talk about UPI and digital payments. But I really liked the way you have effectively conveyed the message using music for the transactions done through it.’ The Prime Minister has described it as interesting, effective and informative.

PM said in a tweet, “I’ve spoken about UPI and Digital Payments quite often. But I really liked how you’ve used the sound of money transacted through data sonification to effectively convey the point.

Very interesting, impressive and obviously informative! @indiainpixels”

Let us tell you that the content publisher company ‘India in Pixels’ has generated a tune from the data of transactions done between October 2016 and March 2022 through UPI. This tune has been created through the process of ‘Data Sonification’ which has been praised by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister‘s appreciation took India In Pixels by surprise. It expressed its gratitude to Prime Minister Modi by tweeting. In the tweet, he wrote, ‘Seeing this, the heartbeat stopped for a moment. Thank you so much Narendra Modi Sir for appreciating my idea. UPI is indeed a revolution on which the whole world is eyeing today.

The content publisher had tweeted before this graph, ‘Up to March 2022, Rs 1.56 crore was withdrawn through UPI, of which 81 percent is post-pandemic data.’ It is noteworthy that in the last financial year, the country has registered a year-on-year growth of 33 percent in digital payment transactions. In the financial year 2021-22, a transaction of Rs 452.75 crore has been registered through UPI.

As of March 2022, a total of 1.56 Crore Crores Rupees or 2 Trillion Dollars (2022 prices) have been transacted via UPI. Of that, 81% has been transacted post-pandemic only.

As per the report, PM Modi has a judicial arsenal with provisions that pose a major threat to the freedom of the press.

Paris-based independent NGO Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has named 37 heads of state or government who suppress the voice and freedom of the press.

Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, has been named in the “Press freedom predators” gallery published by RSF.

Leaders like Carrie Lam (Hong Kong), Ilham Aliev (Azerbaijan), Imran Khan (Pakistan), Kim Jong-Un (North Korea), Min Aung Hlaing (Myanmar), Mohamed Bin Salman (Saudi Arabia), Prayut Chan-o-Cha (Thailand), Ramzan Kadyrov (Russia), Rodrigo Duterte (Philippines), Xi Jinping (China), Vladimir Putin (Russia) and Sheikh Hasina (Bangladesh) have made it to the list as well.

The report mentioned India’s rank in the World Press Freedom Index 2021, which is 142 of 180 countries while pointing out the predatory method used by Modi i.e. “National-Populism and Disinformation.”

About the Prime Minister, it said, his “leading weapon is to flood the mainstream media with speeches and information tending to legitimize his national-populist ideology.” Furthermore, it highlighted the close ties Modi has developed with billionaire businessmen who own vast media empires.

According to the report, Modi’s “favourite targets” are “sickulars” and “presstitutes”, the pejoratives that are used against journalists or media outlets that question his ideology. However, it noted that only women journalists are called “presstitutes” for instance Rana Ayyub and Barkha Dutt. The journalists’ personal data were leaked online to facilitate attacks along with calls for them to be gang-raped.

It also referred to Gauri Lankesh as the best-known victim of Hindutva, who was shot down outside her home in September 2017.

The Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration, famously known as the (PAGD) will be attending a meeting with the Indian Prime Minister Modi on coming Thursday, in a debate which was to be conducted amongst them. The agenda and topic of the debate was how to read the Centre’s apparent the “walk back” which had taken place after 2 years of the abrogation of J&K and the constant denigration ever since its happening.

There were several key leaders who had disagreed and were also jailed and silenced. Due to such reasons they had to take unilateral decisions based on their ideological projects. The public outrage had not yet hindered them up till now.

This leader added ahead to his statements that the Chinese had entered the arena there and there has been a significant change of regime in the US whose troops withdrawal from Afghanistan is now become a reality. There was a large chance that the Taliban would be back in Kabul. USA needs a strong presence in Pakistan in order to calls for calming of its temper in Southern Asia.

In the following context, the leader also referred that the Delhi-Islamabad is back-channel facilitated under the power of United Arab Emirates and has a subsequent amount of series of reconciliatory signals coming from Pakistan, which is unconditional ceasefire along the LOC.

The PAGD leader continued with,“ There will be an elected CM, a local face in J&K while power remains with the unelected LG…The Centre wants to normalize the changes they brought in.”

Additionally, as per the statement issued by the PMO, B.Sc./GNM qualified nurses would be deployed in full-time Covid duties under the guidance of senior doctors and nurses.

Adding further, the statement ensures that the medical personnel completing 100 days of Covid duties will be provided Prime Minister’s Distinguished Covid National Service Samman.

The statement also adds, “Doctors, nurses, and allied professionals form the backbone of Covid management and are also the frontline personnel. Their presence in adequate strength is critical to address the needs of the patients well. The stellar work and deep commitment of the medical community were taken note of.”

Well, the rising numbers of Covid cases in India are indeed apprehensible. The country reports 3,68,060 cases in a span of 24 hours thereby pushing the tally to 19.9 million.

In this regard, Prime Minister Modi tweets, “A series of decisions that will increase the availability of medical personnel to strengthen the fight against Covid-19.”

Prime Minister chaired a meeting today with the officials in which several decisions were taken regarding acceleration of the oxygen supply in the country.

Prime Minister Modi, today, chaired a meeting with the officials to view the availability of oxygen and medicines in the country.

Sources of the government say that multiple steps decided to be taken in order to mount the supply & availability of oxygen in India. Also, PM expressed his concern over the situation of human resources in the country.

In line with his direction of exploring innovative ways to ramp up the supply & availability of oxygen, PM Narendra Modi today chaired a meeting to review the usage of gaseous oxygen: PMO pic.twitter.com/B2rvaARD5B

— ANI (@ANI) May 2, 2021

In order to grant a pace to the effective Covid management, the decision to incentivize the MBBS pass-outs may be taken, as per the sources of government.

In addition to this, with a view to ramp up the oxygen supply, industries like steel plants, refineries with petrochemical units, industries using a rich combustion process, power plants, etc have oxygen plants that produce gaseous oxygen, that could be put into medical use, according to the PMO.

Many industries like steel plants, refineries with petrochemical units, industries using rich combustion process, power plants etc have oxygen plants which produce gaseous oxygen which is used in the process. This oxygen can be tapped for medical use: PMO

— ANI (@ANI) May 2, 2021

The PMO also mentions that Gol has explored the feasibility of conversion of existing nitrogen plants to produce oxygen.

Considering requirement of medical oxygen amidst COVID-19 pandemic, GoI explored feasibility of conversion of existing nitrogen plants to produce oxygen. Various such potential industries, wherein existing nitrogen plants may be spared for production of oxygen were identified: PMO

— ANI (@ANI) May 2, 2021

Well, in the meeting, a discussion was held regarding the procedure of converting the PSA nitrogen plants to make them capable of producing oxygen. The PMO also mentioned that Carbon Molecular Sieve is used in nitrogen plants whereas Zeolite Molecular Sieve is required to produce oxygen. Therefore, by replacing CMS with ZMS and making a few more altercations, nitrogen plants could be converted in such a way that they’re capable of producing oxygen.

Therefore, by replacing CMS with ZMS and carrying out few other changes such as oxygen analyzer, control panel system, flow valves etc. existing nitrogen plants can be modified to produce oxygen: Prime Minister's Office

— ANI (@ANI) May 2, 2021

Furthermore, 14 industries are under the process of conversion. 37 industries have also been identified to assist the country with oxygen requirements, as per the information by the PMO.

Again, discussing the location of the plant, it was decided that the plants for the production of oxygen could be shifted near a hospital. In case, if it is not feasible, plants can be used for on-site production, though transportation will be done through specialized vessels/cylinders; as per the information provided by the PMO.

A nitrogen plant modified for the production of oxygen can be either shifted to a nearby hospital or, in case it is not feasible to shift the plant, it can be used for on-site production of oxygen, which can be transported to hospital through specialized vessels/cylinders: PMO

— ANI (@ANI) May 2, 2021
