Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend a program ‘Mangarh Dham ki Gaurav Gatha’ at Mangarh Hill here on Tuesday to pay homage to the sacrifices of the unsung tribal heroes and martyrs of the freedom struggle movement.

He will pay homage to Bhil freedom fighter Govind Guru who led more than 1.5 lakh Bhils at Mangarh Hill against the Britishers on November 17, 1913.

The Prime Minister will also address a gathering of Bhil Adivasis and other tribal population of the region.

Mangarh Hill holds special importance for the Bhil community and other tribes of Rajasthan, Gujarat, and Madhya Pradesh.

During the freedom struggle Bhils and other tribes engaged in a long stand-off with the British here.

Britishers opened fire at this gathering, leading to Mangarh Massacre where approximately 1500 tribals were killed.

The Prime Minister, who is already on a visit to Gujarat, will also dedicate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth around Rs 860 crores in Jambughoda, Panchmahal.

He will dedicate the new campus of Shri Govind Guru University, Godhara.

He will also dedicate Sant Joriya Parameshwar Primary School and Memorial located at village Vadek and Raja Rup Singh Nayak Primary School and Memorial located at village Dandiyapura.

PM Modi and Manmohan Singh vote for next President of India

New Delhi, July 18: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday cast their votes in Parliament House to elect the next President of India.

Polling is currently underway in Parliament and state assemblies.

The polling began at 10 am with Modi being among the first leaders to vote. Chief Ministers from several states and MLAs also voted.

The voting process will conclude at 5 pm. The counting of votes will take place in Parliament on July 21.

More than 4,800 MPs and MLAs will choose the next President. The NDA’s Droupadi Murmu is considered most likely to win. The opposition nominee is Yashwant Sinha.

NDA candidate Murmu is likely to get around 60 per cent of votes as several non-NDA partners have also extended support to her.

She has over 6.67 lakh votes after the support of various regional parties out of a total of 10,86,431 votes.

Once elected, Murmu will be the first tribal to occupy the highest post. Besides, she will be the first President born post independence.

Sinha is being supported by the Congress, NCP, AAP, AITC, CPI, CPI(M), SP, NC, DMK, AIMIM, RJD and AIUDF.

The new President will take oath to succeed Ram Nath Kovind on July 25.

The content publisher had tweeted before this graph, ‘Up to March 2022, Rs 1.56 crore was withdrawn through UPI, of which 81 percent is post-pandemic data.’ It is noteworthy that in the last financial year, the country has registered a year-on-year growth of 33 percent in digital payment transactions. In the financial year 2021-22, a transaction of Rs 452.75 crore has been registered through UPI.

Paris-based independent NGO Reporters Without Borders (RSF) has named 37 heads of state or government who suppress the voice and freedom of the press.

Narendra Modi, the Prime Minister of India, has been named in the “Press freedom predators” gallery published by RSF.

Leaders like Carrie Lam (Hong Kong), Ilham Aliev (Azerbaijan), Imran Khan (Pakistan), Kim Jong-Un (North Korea), Min Aung Hlaing (Myanmar), Mohamed Bin Salman (Saudi Arabia), Prayut Chan-o-Cha (Thailand), Ramzan Kadyrov (Russia), Rodrigo Duterte (Philippines), Xi Jinping (China), Vladimir Putin (Russia) and Sheikh Hasina (Bangladesh) have made it to the list as well.

The report mentioned India’s rank in the World Press Freedom Index 2021, which is 142 of 180 countries while pointing out the predatory method used by Modi i.e. “National-Populism and Disinformation.”

About the Prime Minister, it said, his “leading weapon is to flood the mainstream media with speeches and information tending to legitimize his national-populist ideology.” Furthermore, it highlighted the close ties Modi has developed with billionaire businessmen who own vast media empires.

According to the report, Modi’s “favourite targets” are “sickulars” and “presstitutes”, the pejoratives that are used against journalists or media outlets that question his ideology. NEET-PG postponed, deployment of medical interns and other key decisions taken in PM Modi’s virtual meet held today

In the wake of rising Covid-19 cases and to boost the availability of human resources concerning the Covid-19 pandemic, PM Modi held a virtual meet yesterday with the officials to take up the discussion over the subject.

“The Prime Minister reviewed the growing need for adequate human resources for responding to the Covid-19 pandemic in the country today. Many important decisions were taken which will significantly boost the availability of medical personnel in Covid duty”, says the PMO.

The key decisions include the postponement of NEET-PG exams for at least 4 months, as per the information provided by the PMO.

In addition to this, medical personnel completing 100 days of Covid duties will be given priority in forthcoming regular government recruitments. The decision has been acknowledged to encourage the MBBS pass-outs to join Covid duty.

Furthermore, the PMO adds that medical interns will also be deployed in Covid management duties under the supervision of their faculty.

Final year MBBS students would be made indulged in teleconsultation and monitoring of mild Covid cases under the supervision of their respective faculties.

Additionally, as per the statement issued by the PMO, B.Sc./GNM qualified nurses would be deployed in full-time Covid duties under the guidance of senior doctors and nurses.

Adding further, the statement ensures that the medical personnel completing 100 days of Covid duties will be provided Prime Minister’s Distinguished Covid National Service Samman.

The statement also adds, “Doctors, nurses, and allied professionals form the backbone of Covid management and are also the frontline personnel. Their presence in adequate strength is critical to address the needs of the patients well. The stellar work and deep commitment of the medical community were taken note of.”

Well, the rising numbers of Covid cases in India are indeed apprehensible. The country reports 3,68,060 cases in a span of 24 hours thereby pushing the tally to 19.9 million.

Prime Minister Modi, today, chaired a meeting with the officials to view the availability of oxygen and medicines in the country.

Sources of the government say that multiple steps decided to be taken in order to mount the supply & availability of oxygen in India. Also, PM expressed his concern over the situation of human resources in the country.

In order to grant a pace to the effective Covid management, the decision to incentivize the MBBS pass-outs may be taken, as per the sources of government.

In addition to this, with a view to ramp up the oxygen supply, industries like steel plants, refineries with petrochemical units, industries using a rich combustion process, power plants, etc have oxygen plants that produce gaseous oxygen, that could be put into medical use, according to the PMO.

The PMO also mentions that Gol has explored the feasibility of conversion of existing nitrogen plants to produce oxygen.

Considering requirement of medical oxygen amidst COVID-19 pandemic, GoI explored feasibility of conversion of existing nitrogen plants to produce oxygen. Various such potential industries,wherein existing nitrogen plants may be spared for production of oxygen were identified: PMO

Well, in the meeting, a discussion was held regarding the procedure of converting the PSA nitrogen plants to make them capable of producing oxygen. The PMO also mentioned that Carbon Molecular Sieve is used in nitrogen plants whereas Zeolite Molecular Sieve is required to produce oxygen. Therefore, by replacing CMS with ZMS and making a few more altercations, nitrogen plants could be converted in such a way that they’re capable of producing oxygen.

Furthermore, 14 industries are under the process of conversion. 37 industries have also been identified to assist the country with oxygen requirements, as per the information by the PMO.

Again, discussing the location of the plant, it was decided that the plants for the production of oxygen could be shifted near a hospital. In case, if it is not feasible, plants can be used for on-site production, though transportation will be done through specialized vessels/cylinders; as per the information provided by the PMO.

With his upcoming film Rocketry: The Nambi Effect, actor R Madhavan will make his directorial debut. On Monday, the actor-turned-director posted a photo from his latest meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on social media. S. Narayan Nambi, a scientist and aerospace engineer at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), was also present at the conference, and his life is the focus of Madhavan’s debut directorial film, Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.

The story is based on the life of S. Nambi Narayanan, a physicist and aerospace engineer. Madhavan also plays the lead, Nambi Narayanan, in addition to directing.

The film’s suspenseful trailer was released on April 1 and was well received by both audiences and critics.
